Kansas Scholarships

Some states or counties have hundreds of scholarships for which you may qualify.

Ruth Sevy Scholarship

For students from Kansas, majoring in Education with a focus on service to handicapped, disabled and special needs children.

Ruthetta Krause Scholarship

Awarded to students studying in the College of Business and Leadership.

Samuel Martin and Frances Evelyn Hamilton Scholarship

Applicants must be majoring in Philosophy. Preference will be given to students with a minimum 3.0 GPA whose father has passed away who show financial need.

Schleich Memorial Scholarship

Available to a student from any major who has auditioned for a Music Scholarship. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA in Music courses.

Schmeidler Family Scholarship

Preference to sophomore, junior and senior undergraduate students in any major with a minimum 3.0 GPA who have exhibited leadership in University-sponsored student organizations and activities. The scholarship shall be renewable as long as the student maintains the criteria.

Scott and Rita Harmon Scholarship

Eligibility: 1. Major in any one of the four-year business programs. 2. Eligibility based primarily on financial need with emphasis given to students with above average GPA.

Sene and Louella Carlile Scholarship

Recipient will be one whose work is outstanding and concentrated in the field of Speech (Communication) or Allied areas with preference given to those doing graduate work.

Sherbondy Family Scholarship

Recipient will be an FHSU graduate accepted into the Washburn University School of Law. This student should show leadership through the involvement in campus and community activities. A short essay discussing their desire for a law degree and career goals, along with three letters of recommendation must accompany the application.

Sociology and Social Work Scholarship

The department offers a number of scholarships each year to qualified seniors majoring in Sociology and Social Work.

Sociology or Social Work - Academic Opportunity Award

Sociology scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen students in Sociology or Social Work.

Special Education Scholarship

Available to graduate students majoring in Special Education.

Standlee V. and Pauline Polly Hyatt Dalton Scholarship

Preference given to sophomore, junior, senior or graduate students majoring in Nursing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
