Congressional Black Caucus Scholarships

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation Inc. was established in 1976 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit, public policy, research and educational institute. As envisioned by its founders, the CBC Foundation's mission is to assist the leaders of today, while helping to prepare a new generation of leaders for the future. Consistent with its mission to provide educational opportunities to a new generation of leaders, the CBC Foundation demonstrates its commitment by sponsoring a number of educational programs. These programs include the CBC Spouses Education Scholarship Fund, the CBC Spouses Cheerios Brand Health Initiative Scholarship, the CBCF Fellows Program and the CBCF Internship Program.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Scholarships

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) was established in 1978 by members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus as a non-profit, non-partisan educational organization dedicated to developing the next generation of Latino leaders. CHCI's educational services are designed to provide Latino students with the tools and resources they need to succeed in attaining a higher education. Its leadership development programs seek to help participants search for and understand, their identity as professionals, Latinos, and leaders. By bringing together individuals who share a commitment to serve their communities, CHCI endeavors to make its vision of an educated and civic-minded Latino community a reality. This premier scholarship opportunity is afforded to Latino students who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who plan to continue contributing in the future. There is no GPA or major requirement. Students with excellent leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

Korean American Scholarship Foundation

The Korean American Scholarship Foundation (KASF) is a non-profit, volunteer-managed organization established to help meet the financial needs of Korean-American students seeking higher education. Founded in 1969 by a small group of concerned individuals in Washington, D.C., the KASF began as a local organization with limited focus and funding resources. However, with the dramatic growth of Korean immigrant communities in the U.S., the KASF has expanded to include other regions and to broaden its funding base.

Talbots Women's Scholarship

Sponsored by the Talbots Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic program of apparel retailer Talbots. The Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund is a $100,000 scholarship program that awards five $10,000 scholarships and fifty $1,000 scholarships annually to women seeking a bachelor's or associate's degree later in life. Since its inception in 1997, the fund has awarded college scholarships to 330 women ranging in age from their late twenties to their early sixties. Institute of International Education (IIE) Scholarships

Menlo Merit Scholarships

Menlo College offers an outstanding merit-based scholarship program for our undergraduate day students who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership, both inside and outside the classroom. The merit-based scholarships are offered to both domestic and international students, as well as first-time college and transfer students. The following information on merit scholarships is applicable to new students admitted to Menlo College. To be considered for a Menlo scholarship, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above for freshman and 2.7 or above for transfers. The amount of the award is determined based on grades, recommendations, and extracurricular involvement or leadership. Incoming students who qualify for the merit scholarships are notified directly by the Admission Office of their eligibility. FRESHMAN AND TRANSFER STUDENTS WITH FEWER THAN 24 UNITS: 3.5 or above, $12,000 President's Scholarship 3.1 to 3.49, $11,000 Dean's Scholarship 2.8 to 3.09, $8,500 Leadership Scholarship TRANSFER STUDENTS (with at least 24 transferable units): 3.4 or above, $11,000 President's Scholarship 3.15 to 3.39, $10,000 Dean's Scholarship 2.7 to 3.14, $8,500 Leadership Scholarship In addition, Menlo offers 10 scholarships of $5,000 each to talented international students, for a maximum total of $17,000.

Menlo Grant

For qualified students, the amount varies and is applied toward tuition costs, and is based upon demonstrated federal financial need. Full-time enrollment is required to receive this grant.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

This grant program is awarded on behalf of the federal government. FSEOG grants of up to $1,000 are awarded to students with the lowest expected family contribution (EFC). Priority is given to students who receive Federal Pell Grants with the lowest EFCs.

California Student Aid Commission (CSAC)

The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC)awards Cal Grants. To qualify you must be a California resident. If applying for a Cal Grant for the first time, complete the FAFSA and a Cal Grant Grade Point Average (GPA) verification form. Request the GPA Verification form from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. After the FAFSA is received by the Monterey Institute, be sure to mail the GPA Verification form to CSAC.

HSF/Nissan Community College Transfer

Program Description: This program, offered in partnership with Nissan, is available to community college students transferring to a four-year institution in Dallas. TX or Los Angeles, CA. Awards are in the amount of $2,500 for the full academic year. Eligibility Requirements: Be of Hispanic heritage. Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident with permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired). Be currently enrolled part-time or full-time at a community college. Have plans to transfer and enroll full-time in a degree-seeking program at a four-year U.S. accredited institution in Dallas, TX or Los Angeles, CA. Be pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, Journalism/Communications or Public Relations. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or the equivalent). Must apply for Federal Financial Aid.

HSF/Citigroup Fellows Program

Program Description: The HSF/Citigroup Fellows Award is a two-year award. Selected students will receive $5,000 for each of their junior and senior years for a total award of $10,000. Awards will be disbursed in two disbursements -fall and spring- of $2,500 during the academic year upon receipt of enrollment verification, and provided the student maintains the standards of academic progress as defined by HSF. HSF/Citigroup Fellows will also be paired with a Citigroup employee who will serve as a professional mentor and offer career guidance. HSF/Citigroup Fellows will be invited to attend a professional development conference in the fall of both their junior and senior years. The conferences are fully funded by the Citigroup Foundation and will take place in different locations throughout the United States. Eligibility Requirements: Be of Hispanic heritage. Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired). Be a current sophomore enrolled full-time at a four-year accredited college or university in the United States; selected students must be enrolled as juniors during the following academic year. Be pursuing a degree in Business, Business Administration, Economics or Finance. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Must reside or attend college in one of the following city locations: New York City metropolitan area Miami/Fort Lauderdale area Tampa, Florida Dallas, Texas San Antonio, Texas Austin, Texas Los Angeles, California San Francisco Bay Area, California OR Must attend one of the following colleges or universities: Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, New York University, Northwestern University, Princeton University, Rutgers University, Stanford University, University of California - Los Angeles, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, University of Virginia, University of Texas at Austin, or Yale University
