Arkansas Scholarships

Student Eligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors seeking a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Scholarships will be awarded on the merits of SAT or ACT scores, high school grade point average and extracurricular activities. Terms: One freshman scholarship consisting of $500 per year for 4 years will be awarded.

Trade School Future is an organization dedicated to helping future mechanics reach their full potential. Our country needs skilled automotive workers and we want to help. Each semester, we’ll be awarding grants of various amounts to students who plan on attending a trade or vocational school with the aim of becoming a mechanic. This scholarship is open to any prospective student in the United States who plans to enroll in a trade or vocational school, 2 or 4 year university, accredited community college or other automotive higher education institution within the next 12 months. The applicant must complete a short essay (500 words or less) detailing why they are pursuing an automotive degree. The applicant must provide a phone number and email address for correspondence about the grant award selection process. The Future Mechanic Grant for the Fall/Winter Semester is a one-time financial gift of $1,000. The grant will be awarded to the applicant who best answers the application criteria, including the short essay. The award funds may be applied to any expenses associated with pursuing an automotive degree or certification. This is a one-time financial gift and does not need to be paid back to Trade School Future.

The Drone Technology College Scholarship will be awarded to current U.S. college or university undergraduates who demonstrate an interest in pushing the drone industry forward, as demonstrated in an essay of 750-1,000 words. Successful applicants will write thorough, thoughtful essays that dive deeply into the topic, and will have a strong letter of support. Two awards of $1,000 each will be given.

Arkansas residents who are United States citizens, plan to enroll or are enrolled full-time in an approved technical program, demonstrate leadership capabilities, and meet certain academic criteria are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants who will be graduating high school seniors. Applicants will not be considered until they possess the following academic qualifications: 1. A minimum high school grade point average of 2.5 on 4.0 scale based on seven semesters. 2. A minimum ACT composite score of 19 (or, at least 730 on the SAT combined verbal and math, if the ACT score is not available), or be ranked in the upper ten percent of his/her high school graduating class.

Every year, the Arkansas Hospitality Association, along with the assistance of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF), offers a co-branded scholarship to individuals who are interested in pursuing a hospitality-related degree. Scholarship monies range from $500-$2,000 and are based on criteria included in the application. The proceeds from the annual Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism Silent and Live Auctions are donated to the Arkansas Tourism Development Foundation, to help fund the scholarships that are given out annually to students pursuing hospitality industry degrees. Without these auctions, this scholarship could not be the success that it is today! STEP #1: Make sure you are qualified for this scholarship. Please read through the qualifications below. If you don’t meet ALL of these qualifications you are not eligible to apply. To be eligible to apply, you must: 1.) Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and a resident of Arkansas 2.) Be a graduating high school student that has been accepted and enrolled into an AHA-approved Hospitality Program accredited culinary school, college, or university OR currently enrolled full-time or substantial part-time (minimum of 9 credit hours) in an AHA-approved Hospitality Program accredited culinary school, college, or university 4.) Be enrolled for two consecutive terms, not entering your last semester before graduating 5.) Students who are enrolled in an Internship Prep class will NOT be processed due to lack of credit hours STEP #2: Gather all the required documentation To be considered for a scholarship, your application packet must include the following: For entering Freshman: 1.) A minimum of two letters of recommendation from persons in the hospitality industry and/or instructors. 2.) An official high school transcript for students entering their first year of higher education. 3.) Entering freshman will need to supply a copy of your acceptance letter to a postsecondary hospitality program stating your intended program of study. 4.) Entering freshman will need to supply proof of enrollment. General awards require a minimum 2.5 GPA. For returning postsecondary students: 1.) A minimum of two letters of recommendation from persons in the hospitality industry and/or hospitality instructors. 2.) An official college transcript for returning postsecondary students. 3.) $8,000 four-year scholarship Ideal candidates have been a member of AQHA or AQHYA for at least one year who is from Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi or Tennessee, and who competes in AQHA-approved shows. Member must apply during their senior year of high school or while enrolled at an accredited college or university. Recipient must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average. Current or previous AQHF scholarship recipients are not eligible to receive this scholarship. Funding for this scholarship will be applied to a four-year undergraduate degree program of the student's choice.

The Pearce Law Firm in Philadelphia is pleased to offer The Pearce Law Firm – Empowering Women In Law Scholarship. This scholarship opportunity is open to women nationwide who are currently attending a law school in the United States. This scholarship is intended to encourage & support outstanding achievement & leadership by example from women in the field of law. This award will be presented to a current female law student for the following academic year in the amount of $2,000.00 & will be paid at the beginning of the fall semester (2015). Requirements: This scholarship is judged & awarded primarily on academic achievement, school & community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities & financial need. The scholarship must be submitted, in full, by December 31, 2014. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. The applicant must be a current female law student. Applicant will have successfully completed at least one semester of law school but will not yet have graduated by fall semester of 2015.
