Some states or counties have hundreds of scholarships for which you may qualify.

Rochester Business Women

Criteria: Available to Rochester, Adams and Stoney Creek seniors. Student must have taken business-oriented courses and be planning a career in business. Award: $300 Applications should be either typed or printed in black ink. Applications in pencil will not be considered.

Rochester Jaycees Scholarship

Criteria: Available to Rochester, Adams and Stoney Creek seniors pursuing higher education. Must be active in community volunteerism and service; minimum 2.0 GPA. Award: $500 Applications should be either typed or printed in black ink. Applications in pencil will not be considered.

Rochester Junior Woman

Criteria: Available to Rochester, Adams and Stoney Creek seniors pursuing higher education. Must be active in community volunteerism and service; minimum 2.0 GPA. Award: $500 Applications should be either typed or printed in black ink. Applications in pencil will not be considered.

Rochester Lions Club Todd Minbiole Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Available to Rochester, Adams and Stoney Creek seniors pursuing continuing education in college or technical/vocational training. The student must have maintained a 2.75 or higher GPA and be actively involved in and demonstrated a contribution to community volunteerism and service. Award: $1000

Rochester PTA Council Scholarships

Criteria: Eligible students must be members of PTA. Award: $500 Background: Four scholarships awarded to students from Rochester, Adams, Stoney Creek and ACE. Applications should be either typed or printed in black ink. Applications in pencil will not be considered.

Rochester Rotary Award Scholarship

Criteria: Non-renewable scholarship available to students who desire and will benefit from furthering their education. Financial need is considered. Award: Minimum $500 Applications should be either typed or printed in black ink. Applications in pencil will not be considered.

Rochester Rotary Community Service Scholarship

Criteria: Non-renewable scholarships. Minimum of 2.75 GPA, record of community service, leadership, financial need is considered, resident of Rochester Community School attendance area. Recommendation of Interact Advisor is an asset. Student must demonstrate Rotary’s motto, “Service above self."

Rochester Rotary Sally Case Courage Scholarship

Criteria: Scholarships may be made in memory of Sally Case at the discretion of the Rotary Scholarship Committee. Recipients must have overcome obstacles or shown courage. Financial need is considered. Award: Minimum $500 Applications should be either typed or printed in black ink. Applications in pencil will not be considered.

Rochester Rotary Paul Harris Scholarship

Criteria: Renewable scholarships (2 scholarships awarded per year). Minimum of 2.75 GPA, record of community service, leadership, financial need is considered, resident of Rochester Community School attendance area. Recommendation of Interact Advisor is an asset.

Charlie Sanders Scholarship

Criteria: Available to students living in Rochester, Rochester Hills or Oakland township with college entry GPA with participation in athletics with demonstrated leadership skills and financial need. Award: $1000 Biography: Scholarship was created in honor of the Charlie Sanders induction into the Football Hall of Fame. Applications should be either typed or printed in black ink. Applications in pencil will not be considered.

Eric J. Shook Memorial Art Scholarship

Criteria: Available to Rochester, Adams and Stoney Creek seniors who demonstrates artistic talent and will be majoring in art, photography, film or video in college. Must have minimum 2.5 GPA. Resume of achievements in art, film, video or photography should be submitted in addition to application form. Award: $1000 Biography: Eric J. Shook (1974-1992) graduated from Rochester High in 1992 and was a brilliant photographer and artist. He won numerous state awards and his work was well known by his peers. Applications should be either typed or printed in black ink. Applications in pencil will not be considered.

William R. Vallow Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Available to Rochester, Adams and Stoney Creek or local college student pursuing college education. Must demonstrate academic achievements and community involvement; minimum 3.0 GPA. Award: $500 Biography: William R. Vallow (1934-1992), originally from Denver, was manager of Education & Training for Chevrolet Division during his 37 years at General Motors. He believed education was an important key to success. Applications should be either typed or printed in black ink. Applications in pencil will not be considered.
