The Proton OnSite scholarship program has been successful in supporting future leaders in science and technology, through college scholarships. A restructuring of the program, and one that focuses on a contest aspect, builds on that history while broadening the potential number of entries. Therefore, we are seeking participants who demonstrate passion, drive, curiosity and DIY initiative in applying science and technology to solve real world situations with a broad-reaching program. The Proton OnSite Scholarship Program is fueling the next generation of scientific innovation by recognizing and awarding high school seniors who can find new and creative ways for generating and/or using hydrogen powered by renewable and sustainable energy sources such as sun or wind. Proton OnSite seeks to fuel the next generation of scientific innovation by recognizing and rewarding high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding achievement, excellence and community service. Name: Proton OnSite Scholarship Deadline: February 13, 2015 Value: $100,000/ $25,000 per year Number of Scholarships offered: We intend to award one 4-year scholarship (worth up to $100,000 for 4 years). It is possible that more awards may be made based on the quality of the applicants. Each scholarship is one to four years in length, and to be eligible for renewal, students must remain enrolled full-time and meet all criteria of standard academic progress as established by their university. Established in honor of AIA Honorary President Jane Waldbaum, this scholarship is intended to help students who are planning to participate in archaeological field work for the first time. Students majoring in archaeology or related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. The Scholarship Fund provides $1000 each to help pay expenses associated with participation in an archaeological field work project (minimum stay one month/4 weeks). The scholarship is open to students who have begun their junior year of undergraduate studies at the time of application and have not yet completed their first year of graduate school at a college or university in the United States or Canada. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and must not have previously participated in archaeological field work of any kind. The committee will consider both academic achievement and financial need in its deliberations. AIA scholarships are open to students from all backgrounds. The Waldbaum Scholarship will be awarded to junior and senior undergraduates and first-year graduate students only. All applicants must complete the following: Complete online application form Provide names and emails of two references. Your references will receive an email with instructions for submitting their recommendations online. You are responsible for ensuring that both referees have submitted their letters of recommendation online by the application deadline. Send transcripts: Transcripts must be official and include at least two full years of completed college-level work (4 semesters or 6 quarters), not counting AP credits. If you are a transfer student and have attended your current school for less than two years, please submit transcripts from your previous school(s) in order to provide a record of at least two full years of completed college-level work (4 semesters/6 quarters), not counting AP credits. Post-Baccalaureate and first year graduate students must submit both undergraduate and post-graduate transcripts.

Purpose To introduce undergraduate students to pharmacology research in order to heighten interest in science as a career, with an emphasis on pharmacology graduate training to increase the number of young scientists entering the research discipline of pharmacology. The SURF individual awards are intended to support students whose institutions do not have a currently funded SURF program. To check if your institution has a SURF program, check website. Who Should Apply: Undergraduate students conducting pharmacology-related research including, but not limited to, students representing departments of pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, and/or biological chemistry. Program Requirements The sponsor must be a regular member of ASPET in good standing or a retired member who is still active in research. Students are expected to work on a research project with some degree of independence. If awarded, ASPET will provide a student stipend of $2800 for a minimum of ten weeks participation in the program. The sponsor is expected to sponsor the SURF Fellow for student membership in ASPET at the beginning of their summer research experience. Undergraduate student membership in ASPET is free. Applications from women and underrepresented minorities are particularly encouraged. Terms of the Award No indirect costs will be provided All funds shall be used for student stipends only All awards will be made directly to institutions. Awardees and sponsors will be notified by April 15 if an award is to be made

Purpose: To support remote sensing education and stimulate the development of applications of high-resolution digital satellite imagery for applied research by undergraduate or graduate students. Eligibility: Full time undergraduate or graduate students at an accredited college or university in the USA or Canada with image processing facilities appropriate for conducting the proposed work. Student member of ASPRS Award: A grant of satellite imagery data up to 500 square kilometers (potential value of up to $20,000), and a certificate inscribed with the recipient’s name. This award is presented by the ASPRS Foundation, with funding provided by The DigitalGlobe Foundation. DigitalGlobe will consider additional recipients per year based on the selection committee’s recommendation of an additional candidate’s merit. Award Parameters: Level of Imagery The 500 square kilometers will be limited IKONOS and GeoEye-1 imagery from the DigitalGlobe archive and can be the following product types: IKONOS (1M Panchromatic, 4M Multispectral, or 1M Pansharpenend Multispectral) Geo Geo Stereo (US only) GeoProfessional (Ortho, US only) GeoEye-1 (0.50-meter Panchromatic, 2-meter Multispectral, or 0.50-meter Pansharpenend Multispectral) Geo Geo Stereo (US only) GeoProfessional (Ortho, US only)

Purpose: The purpose of the award is to facilitate graduate-level studies and career goals adjudged to address new and innovative uses of signal processing, image processing techniques, and the application of photogrammetry to real-world techniques within the earth imaging industry. This award is presented by a grant from the ASPRS Foundation on behalf of corporate contributions to the Foundation by Z/I Imaging, a technology company that provides innovative solutions to the earth imaging industry. Eligibility: The award is restricted to members of ASPRS. It is intended for a student who is currently pursuing graduate-level studies or who plans to enroll for graduate studies in a recognized college or university in the United States or elsewhere. Award: The award consists of a one-year Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 and a certificate. Application: In addition to the application form and official transcripts, applicants must submit the following items: A 2-page statement detailing applicant’s educational and career plans for continuing studies in photogrammetric applications. Two completed letters of reference from faculty members who have knowledge of the applicant’s capabilities. Technical papers, research reports, or other pertinent items produced by the applicant and indicating capabilities in this field may be submitted with the application, but are not required. Award Selection: The Z/I Imaging Scholarship selection committee will evaluate each application and apply equal weight to each of the items listed above. The applicant who, in the opinion of the majority of the committee, has the highest overall ranking will be designated as the recipient.

($1,500) – Civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a water operations or related science-program Students who are attending or have been accepted into appropriate college/university programs at the undergraduate level are eligible to apply. Applicants must be members of NEWWA. Applicants must reside in New England or attend a college/university in New England to qualify. Student Application Requirements Student applicants must submit the following: • Official student application form • A two-page (maximum) résumé (that includes educational history) • Official transcripts of all university education (if applicant has not started higher education, official transcript from high school is required) • Two letters of recommendation (one must be from a teacher/professor; the second may be from a teacher/professor or professional reference such as an employer) • A one-page (maximum) statement of educational plans and career objectives demonstrating how these plans are beneficial to water works practice in New England • Copy of FAFSA (Free Applications for Federal Student Aid) confirmation Selection Criteria – Students The NEWWA Scholarship Committee considers application on the basis of merit, character and need to members and student members of the New England Water Works Association, with preference given to applicants whose programs are considered by the Scholarship Committee as beneficial to water works practice in New England.

The Fuels and Petrochemicals Division of AICHE (F&PD) is pleased to sponsor two $1,000 one-time awards to exemplary high school seniors who plan on studying engineering or science. F&PD is committed to introducing high school students to careers in Fuels & Petrochemicals through its programs, helping to fuel the industry’s need for top talent in the future. Award: Two $1000 awards. Presentation: The award is presented at the Fuels and Petrochemicals Division Annual Award Luncheon at the AIChE Spring National Meeting. Eligibility: Eligible applicants are graduating high school seniors with exemplary academic records and demonstrated leadership potential. Eligible applicants must plan to attend an accredited four year university in the fall and plan to major in engineering or science. Applicants must be sponsored by a member of F&PD. Members can sponsor up to two applicants a year. College acceptance letters and proof of registration must be presented to F&PD’s scholarship panel prior to disbursement of awards. Application Package: Application Form- Complete and signed application. Transcript- Official copy of applicant’s high school transcript(s). Essay- Applicant must submit an original, typed, single-sided, double-spaced essay which discusses a current event in regards to Fuels & Petrochemicals Industry and shares the applicant’s thoughts (i.e. gas prices, alternative fuel sources, carbon credits, plant safety, ethanol, etc.) Essays should be no more than 1000 words in length. Letter of Reference- Applicant must submit one letter of reference from a high school or community leader which discusses the applicant’s scholastic ability, character and/or leadership characteristics. Sponsorship Letter – Applicants must submit a sponsorship letter from a practicing engineer or scientist. The letter should state why this applicant is being sponsored.
