HPSP Scholarship

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? The HPSP is available for students pursuing advanced degrees in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, psychiatric nursing, optometry or psychology. To qualify for the Health Professions Scholarship Program, you must: Be a U.S. citizen with a baccalaureate degree from an accredited school Be enrolled in (or have a letter or acceptance from) an accredited graduate program in the U.S. or Puerto Rico (varies by specialty) Maintain full-time student status during the length of the program Qualify as a commissioned officer FINANCIAL INCENTIVES As you attend school, you'll receive a monthly stipend of more than $2,000. During breaks, you'll receive officer's pay while you train as part of our health care team. After graduation, you'll enter active duty in your specialty and advance in rank to captain. With every promotion, your salary will increase. Your time-in-service and cost-of-living adjustments also lead to pay increases. Additionally, you'll receive a monthly non-taxable allowance for food and housing. WHAT'S COVERED? The U.S. Army health care team will pay 100 percent of your tuition for a graduate-level health care degree for any accredited medical, dental, veterinary, psychology or optometry program in the United States or Puerto Rico. FULL-TUITION SCHOLARSHIP, PLUS A $20,000 SIGN-ON BONUS

Garcia, Artigliere & Medby Scholarship Program

Garcia, Artigliere & Medby endows a scholarship for law school or nursing students who demonstrate the highest level of acumen. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a single student to help support their efforts in joining the legal or nursing workforce. Any law school or nursing student attending a four-year accredited university is eligible to apply. Please submit an essay of up to 1,000 words (maximum) answering the following question: “What is your industry’s most pressing need and how do you plan on improving it?” Scholarship details: One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. Applications will be reviewed by the Garcia, Artigliere & Medby team. Criteria for selection is originality and quality of submission. The deadline is January 15 by 5pm PT. There are no extensions. Winners will be notified via email and phone by February 15. Scholarship requirements: College student in the legal or nursing field. You must be in good standing at a four-year accredited public or private university. Please email your essay to [email protected]. The American Indian Nurse Scholarship Awards

Since 1928 The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America has provided a small number of scholarship awards to assist students of American Indian heritage who are pursuing degrees in nursing or in the field of health care and health education. Eligible students receive $1,500 per semester and the money is to be used strictly for tuition, books or fees applicable to the student’s approved program. The grant is sent to the school and credited to the student’s account. Once a student is accepted, he or she may re-apply for continued funds each semester as long as the student remains in academic good standing. To be eligible for a scholarship, the candidate must be:  1/4 American Indian, enrolled in a tribe. If not enrolled, the student will be considered if he or she can prove direct tribal ancestry.  A high school graduate or have equivalent education  Enrolled in an accredited school  Enrolled in the nursing program, having achieved good scholastic standing in pre-nursing; or, enrolled in a health care or health education program  Expected to graduate two years after enrollment if in an Associate Degree program  Expected to graduate in four years if pursuing a B.S.  Post graduate students are also eligible  Maintaining the scholastic average required by the school  Recommended by their counselor, teacher or other school official  In need of financial assistance  Not receiving an Indian Health Service Scholarship  Should have a career goal directly related to the needs of the Indian people

Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship

The Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship, sponsored by B4 Brands, is awarded each year to non-traditional, fulltime students pursuing undergraduate degrees in nursing. All scholarship winners receive a non-renewable scholarship of $1,000 payable directly to the institution in which they are enrolled. Undergraduate nursing programs are those offering an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Non-traditional students are those students who postponed the pursuit of a college degree after high school, or had their college careers interrupted, and instead entered the workforce, or military or fulfilled a family or non-profit obligation. ELIGIBILITY To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Enrolled in a fulltime undergraduate nursing program working toward an associate or bachelor’s degree Non-traditional student, defined as a student that did not immediately continue their education after high school (at least a 3-year gap between high school and enrollment in a college or university) Note: Past winners and applicants of this scholarship are eligible to re-apply in future years

Go Red Multicultural Scholarship Fund

Macy’s and the American Heart Association are continuing their concerted efforts to increase the number of minority women in medical schools through the Go Red™ Multicultural Scholarship Fund. For the fourth consecutive year, the partners are offering sixteen $2,500 tuition-focused scholarships for minority women pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in healthcare fields. OMAP’s 100 Word Essay Health Care Scholarship

OMAP (OnlineMedicalAssistantPrograms.net) is now offering our 100 word essay scholarship for all current and prospective students pursuing a career in the health care field. The scholarship disbursement amount is $500 x 4, for a total of $2000. Four unique winners will be selected yearly to receive a one-time payment of $500. Essay Instructions Please explain why you should be considered for our scholarship, using the following criteria: Minimum of 100 words, maximum of 200 words All essays should be written in English using correct grammar and punctuation All personal information needs to be accurate and truthful Pictures, audio, and video are accepted as part of the submission How Much Are We Giving Away? We are currently offering $2000 in scholarship funds per year. The money will be divided between four lucky students, and dispersed four separate times per year on select dates (see deadline instructions below). Each winner will receive $500 in scholarship money. What are the Deadlines? If you missed the last deadline, don’t worry! We offer 4 scholarships per year to different individuals. NATIONAL AMERICAN ARAB NURSES ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NURSING STUDY

NAANA is pleased to announce its annual scholarships, awarded to the most meritorious applicants who are engaged in studying nursing at the Associate Degree, Bachelor degree, Master’s degree or RN-BSN levels. Annually, awards are made, $500 to $1000 each, depending on the funds available in a given year for scholarships. The awards may be applied toward tuition and/or books in a given academic year. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program at the time of application, and should be pursuing a nursing program during the year for which the award is made. In order to be eligible, applicants must be of Arab heritage, citizens or permanent residents of the United States, and must reside within the US or its territories; further, applicants must be members of NAANA. MAJOR CRITERIA TO BE USED BY THE SELECTION COMMITTEE ARE: Academic excellence, exemplified by achievement of a grade point average [GPA] of 3.0 [on a 4-point scale] or its equivalent. Demonstrated leadership, academic, professional, and/or through student organizations. Evidence of engagement in and contribution to the health care of the Arab American community. Prior recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to apply during the same degree as the first award. MATERIAL REQUIRED FOR EVALUATION: Transcripts of all college/university attended. The transcripts may be unofficial or student copies. Two letters of recommendation. One must be from a nursing faculty member from the institution in which the student is currently enrolled, the second may be from an individual who has taught or worked with the applicant in a different context who might provide a unique perspective on the applicant. The letters should be prepared on institutional stationery, and should address the academic performance of the student, her/his actual or potential leadership activities and the overall criteria. Letters should be sent electronically to NAANA by deadline. A current Curriculum Vita or Resume. A one page essay by the applicant highlighting her/his personal background, career goals, leadership activities, contributions to the health of the Arab American community or plans for doing so upon graduation, and other criteria of the scholarship, and making a case as to why s/he deserves the award. The letter should be prepared in 12-font, single spaced. A completed Scholarship Information Sheet (Pages 3 -5) SCHOLARSHIP REVIEW: Applications are reviewed by a selection committee comprised of members of the Board of Directors. DEADLINE: All application materials need to reach NAANA by May 30th of each year; it is expected that the reviews would be completed by mid-May. If selected, the funds will be made available for the academic year that follows, or starting September 1. Scholarship awards are sent directly to the institution where applicant is enrolled. SUBMISSION: Materials must be submitted electronically as email attachment to: [email protected] Reference letters are to be sent separately, by deadline, to the same email address. Incomplete submission will not be considered.

NAHN Nursing Scholarships

Who Can Apply? Scholarship awards are presented to NAHN members enrolled in accredited LVN/LPN, associate, diploma, baccalaureate, and graduate nursing programs. Selection of recipients is based on need, current academic standing, whether they are a United States citizen or legal resident of the United States and other criteria listed below. Scholarship recipients are a select group of Hispanic nursing students who demonstrate promise of professional contributions to the nursing profession and who have the potential to act as role models for other aspiring nursing students. The number of scholarships offered each year is dependent upon the amount in the scholarship fund. Scholarships will be presented at the NAHN Annual Conference. What is the Selection Criteria? Criteria for the Scholarship Awards include: NAHN scholarship application form completed by the student and submitted by the deadline date. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation from two faculty members outlining the applicant’s future professional contribution to the nursing profession and potential to act as a role model for other aspiring nursing students. An essay, 500 words or less (using Times New Roman – 12 font), written by the student that reflects their life growing up (must include who raised them and what type of work they did), qualifications, and potential for leadership in nursing A resume, which includes earned certificates, awards, community service and special honors. Provide one page essay that includes: a discussion of economic needs; delineates monthly income and expenses; estimates of educational expenses, including any other financial aid for the year requested. Include also a copy of most recent W-2 form. An official transcript from applicant’s college, university, or Nursing Program. Please do not staple all these documents. Academic standing (minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred). Verification of membership status in NAHN (must be a NAHN member for at least six months). NAHN members can reapply for scholarships if attaining a higher degree. No acting National Board Members or Awards & Scholarships Committee members are eligible for scholarships

Nurses Week Scholarship

To be eligible applicants must meet the following criteria: • Complete a 250 word essay answering, “What will you do as a nurse to ensure you always provide exceptional patient care?” by June 6. • Students must be enrolled full-time, in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.75 or better, or continuing their education at an accredited institution (college, junior or community college, or technical school). • Students will be asked to provide a list of community services performed or involved in during the last four years if awarded scholarship. • Applicants must submit a copy of an acceptance letter from the two year or four year accredited college, university or vocational institution if awarded scholarship. • U.S. citizens and students with an Alien Registration number currently enrolled in state-approved schools of nursing or pre-nursing in associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic doctorate, and generic master’s programs. Funds are not available for graduate study unless it is for a first degree in nursing. Awards: • Three (3) $1000 (one-thousand dollar) scholarships awarded for undergraduate study (funds are not available for graduate study unless it is for a first degree in nursing). Awards are a one-time payment and not to be considered a renewal for any future scholarship awarding.

Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship

About the Scholarship: The Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship is an annual $1,000 scholarship awarded to an aspiring nurse who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program at a college or university or is a high school student who has been accepted into a school with an undergraduate nursing program. The winning applicant will provide the best 200-300 word essay on the topic of how nurses can make a difference in people's lives. Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship is available for current students in an undergraduate nursing degree program at an accredited college or university or high school students who have been accepted into a college and plan to study nursing. All applicants must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 and be a legal resident of the USA or hold a valid student visa. The winning applicant must provide verification of enrollment at an undergraduate school with a nursing program or acceptance into a school with an undergraduate nursing program. Additionally, the winning applicant must provide a profile photo and brief biography to be displayed at www.cascadehealthcaresolutions.com. Employees or family members of Cascade Healthcare Solutions are not eligible to participate. Scholarship Selection Process: Submissions will be reviewed and selected by a committee. The committee will assess each application according to the quality, thoughtfulness, and relevance of the essay response.

Nursing Program Scholarship

Scholarship Deadline: July 31st (Every Year) NursesLink.org is offering a $1,000 Nursing Program Scholarship available to any student participating in a qualified undergraduate or certificate level nursing program. This award is given out once every year. Students participating in transitional programs such as RN to BSN or LPN to BSN qualify for this scholarship. Students enrolling or enrolled in nursing programs offered by online schools qualify also. Master’s and Doctorate level students do not qualify for this scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship award is to help nursing students to pay for the costs of education, based on merit. Selection Criteria The winning applicant will be selected based on the merit of their application and scholarship essay. The winner will be selected by the administrative staff of NursesLink.org, based upon the merit of their application package. Approximately 1/3 of the weight will come from the formal application and 2/3 of the weight will come from the essay. The formal application criteria are a combination of GPA, extra curricular activities and employment history (if applicable). The criteria considered in the essay is the author’s ability to present a meaningful answer that speaks directly to the essay question and provides insightful facts to support their claims.

Nursing Education Scholarship

TravelNursing.org is happy to provide scholarships for qualifying applicants who are applying to a medical related field or who are currently pursuing further education in the fields of nursing and medicine. Interested applicants are invited to submit an essay of 500-1000 words explaining what it is they hope to accomplish during their career in the medical field. Applicants and potential scholarship winners will be critiqued by the editorial staff at TravelNursing.org and selected annually on February 10th. Applications for this year’s award are due by January 10th. Travel Nursing Scholarship Applications are welcomed from anybody who meets the application requirements. If you are currently enrolled in a medical program or have been accepted by a program but not yet started, you are eligible to apply for the scholastic award. Scholarship Details and Requirements Premise $1,000 annual scholarship to be awarded to the chosen applicant. Scholarship shall benefit any person 17 years of age or older who is currently accepted to a medicine related program but not yet started, or any current undergraduate or graduate student who is currently enrolled in and attending a medicine related program at an accredited institution of learning. Requirements Applicant shall be at least 17 years of age and be accepted to a full-time medicine related program, but not yet attending because the established start date of the program has not arrived. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, based on the previous year’s academic performance. Application Process Applicant shall submit all contact information as contained within the application, including name, address, phone number, email, date of birth and sex. Applicant shall submit proof of age. A photocopy of a driver’s license or other valid ID is acceptable. Applicant shall submit proof of enrollment or acceptance to an accredited institution of learning. A photocopy of transcripts or acceptance letter is acceptable. Applicant shall submit an essay of at least 500 words but no more than 1000 words that explain what they hope to accomplish in the medical field and how they will impact the lives of others with the education and knowledge they acquire while in medical training. Essay will also include the student’s opinion of why they feel they should be selected to receive the scholarship funds. Selection Applications will be reviewed by a panel and winner selected based on criteria set forth in the requirements section of this document. Once the winner is decided and notified of the award, he/she will receive a mailed 1099-MISC tax form and the check will be delivered to their address. The winner of the scholarship award will be fully responsible for the taxes incurred from receiving the award.
