Here are some of the Nursing scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.
Estelle Massey Osborne Memorial Award
This award consists of donations from Freedman's Hospital School of Nursing. Given annually to an African American Master's degree applicant.
The criteria that are given the most consideration when selecting candidates are:
• Academic excellence, which is given first priority; and
• Potential for contributing to the profession.
To qualify for an NEF award, you must be:
• A registered nurse;
• A member of a professional nursing association;
• Enrolled full- or part-time in a NLNAC or CCNE accredited nursing Masters degree program, having completed a minimum of 12 credits (at the time of application) with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher
• A U.S. citizen or have declared your official intention of becoming one.
NEF scholarships are given for a full academic year and are non-renewable. Completed applications, including all support material must be received in the NEF office no later than February 1. If all materials do not reach us by that date, your entire application will be declared ineligible.
There is a small, non-refundable processing fee of $20 for each application. Checks should be made payable to NEF and included with your application.

Isabel McIsaac Memorial Award
An award sum designated by the NEF Board, usually $5,000, is given to the master's degree applicant who receives the highest evaluation score.
The criteria that are given the most consideration when selecting candidates are:

• Potential for contributing to the profession.
To qualify for an NEF award, you must be:
• A registered nurse;
• A member of a professional nursing association;
• Enrolled full- or part-time in a NLNAC or CCNE accredited nursing Masters degree program, having completed a minimum of 12 credits (at the time of application) with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher

Mathy Mezey Endowed Scholarship Fund
In 2013, the John A. Hartford Foundation, Inc. endowed a NEF Scholarship Fund for $50,000 in honor of Mathy Mezey, EdD, RN, FAAN, a noted international geriatric expert. This scholarship will be used to fund nurses engaged in graduate geriatric nursing programs.

NEF Scholars Fund
An endowed fund. In the past, donations from former NEF scholars accumulated in this fund.

Miriam M. Powell Fellowship Fund
Ms. Powell was a graduate of Cornell University School of Nursing. The fund started in 2004 as part of estate plan. The full amount of the annual gift is given each year.

Edith M. Pritchard Fund
An endowed fund given to applicants interested in nursing education/public health.

Barbara L. Tate Scholarship Fund

Judith G. Whitaker Fund
A former scholar recipient and ANA Executive Director, the fund was started with $50,000. Ms. Whitaker added $5,000 each year until her death. Given to a doctoral applicant in nursing research or organizational study.

Promise of Nursing Regional Faculty Fellowship Program
Eligibility Requirements:
In order to be eligible for the PON Fellowship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Be a registered nurse holding a baccalaureate degree in nursing; students in RN to BSN or RN to MSN
programs are not eligible to apply;
Be a US citizen or an Alien with U.S. Permanent Resident Status/ Alien Registration Number;
Be enrolled and matriculated in a state approved graduate school in one of the Promise of Nursing
regions (see list of eligible zip codes at www.nsna.org – click on Foundation);
Currently taking courses and registered for no less than six (6) credits; (in the case of doctoral
completion, students who maintain “required continuous enrollment” are also eligible);
Attend school in an eligible zip code area and be committed to staying within that region upon completion of their program;
Students who live and work as a faculty member in a Promise of Nursing region and are enrolled in an
online degree granting program are also eligible;
Document academic excellence;
Establish financial need;
Document the commitment to the nurse educator role and plan to serve in this capacity upon completion of the program.
Bachelor's in Nursing Degree Scholarship
Purpose: To provide scholarships to individuals who are interested in and committed to oncology nursing and pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing.
Scholarship:
The candidate must be enrolled for their senior year of a bachelor of nursing degree program at an NLN or CCNE accredited School of Nursing.
Bachelor's scholarships awarded annually at $3,000 to $5,000 each
Scholarships are available to individuals who are pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing, do not currently hold an RN license and do not have a college degree
Note: An individual cannot receive this award more than one time.
Senior Care Innovation Scholarship
A Place for Mom is proud to offer our annual $1,000 scholarship to five university students who intend to use their education to help the senior population such as nursing, medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, sociology, social work or gerontology. As North America's largest senior living referral service, we know the importance of supporting the training and education of our future senior care leaders.
This scholarship will be awarded to a citizen or a Permanent Resident of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec) who is enrolled and currently taking classes at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec), and will grant selected applicants a $1,000 financial donation for their compelling essays on how to improve the quality of life for seniors.
Selection and Eligibility Criteria
1. The annual scholarship award is for (5) students enrolled in an associates's degree, bachelor's degree or graduate level program in a medical, nursing or social sciences related major. The student must intend on pursuing a career that involves working with senior citizens. The applicant must be attending classes at an accredited college or university at the time of the spring deadline.
2. Employees of A Place for Mom and members of their immediate family (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to apply.
3. Applicants must complete a letter of introduction and an essay that is between 500 and 900 words on a selected topic and sign the Scholarship Award Agreement
4. Scholarship will be awarded to five students who write the most compelling essay in each of five categories as judged by an outside panel of senior living professionals.
A Nurse I Am Scholarship
To make the film "A Nurse I Am" especially rewarding, Cherokee Uniforms is offering up to 10 scholarships of $2,000 each for nursing students who complete an application, submit an essay on the required assignment, and are judged as winners.
To participate, you will need to have watched either version of "A Nurse I Am" - the 32-minute Educational Version or the 62-minute documentary. We highly recommend that you watch both.

Essay Assignment:
You must fully address the question.
Patients and their family members base their perceptions of the care received on their personal experience with the medical personnel they interact with. After viewing the film "A Nurse I Am" describe how the nurses in the film build a positive rapport with patients and their family members. How will you ensure that you provide those you care for with a positive healthcare experience?
Requirements:
Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited LVN/LPN, RN degree (ADN or BSN), diploma, or RN-to-BSN program, and must begin/ have begun classes no later than Jan. 31, 2015. Enrollment may be on a full-time or part-time basis.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents.
Applicants' nursing education programs must be located within the 50 U.S. states.
Must complete the application and the essay requirement described on the application.
The essay must be typed and double-spaced in 10 point Times New Roman font.
In the top left corner of each page, include the following on separate lines: first and last name, contact telephone number, e-mail address, and date.
Essay word limit: 750 words
