Next Nursing Leaders Scholarship

TravelNursing.org is happy to provide scholarships in support of those seeking a career in nursing. Each year, a prospective or current college student will be selected to receive a $1000 scholarship to help with the costs associated with attending school. Interested applicants should submit a 500-1000 word essay describing what they hope to accomplish with their nursing career. Applicants and potential scholarship winners will be critiqued by the editorial staff at TravelNursing.org and selected annually on Dec 17th. Applications are open to anybody who meets the application requirements. If you are currently accepted and or enrolled in any university or college program you are eligible. If you wish to apply, please review the application requirements and submit all the information to [email protected] Scholarship Details and Requirements Premise $1,000 annual scholarship to be awarded to the chosen applicant. Scholarship shall benefit any person 17 years of age or older who is currently accepted to any college program but not yet started, or any current undergraduate or graduate student who is currently enrolled in and attending a medicine related program at an accredited institution of learning. Requirements Applicant shall be at least 17 years of age and be accepted to a full-time program, but not yet attending because the established start date of the program has not arrived. Applicant shall be at least 17 years of age and be accepted to and attending a full-time program at an accredited institution of learning. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, based on the previous year’s academic performance. Application Process Applicant shall submit all contact information as contained within the application, including name, address, phone number, email, date of birth and sex. Applicant shall submit proof of age. A photocopy of a driver’s license or other valid ID is acceptable. Applicant shall submit proof of enrollment or acceptance to an accredited institution of learning. A photocopy of transcripts or acceptance letter is acceptable. Applicant shall submit an essay of at least 500 words but no more than 1000 words that explain what they hope to accomplish in the medical field and how they will impact the lives of others with the education and knowledge they acquire while in medical training. Essay will also include the student’s opinion of why they feel they should be selected to receive the scholarship funds. Selection Applications will be reviewed by a panel and winner selected based on criteria set forth in the requirements section of this document. Once the winner is decided and notified of the award, he/she will receive a mailed 1099-MISC tax form and the check will be delivered to their address. The winner of the scholarship award will be fully responsible for the taxes incurred from receiving the award.

District of Columbia Scholarship

A one-time $1,000 award is given to two graduating high school seniors, one who has been accepted into the field of nursing and one who has been accepted into the field of occupational therapy, who reside in the District of Columbia, the home of NSDAR Headquarters. Armenian American Medical Society Scholarship

DutchCrafters Amish Furniture Heritage Scholarship

Students that are eligible for the DutchCrafters Amish Furniture Scholarship must meet the subsequent conditions below. 1) Enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited 4-year undergraduate institution located in the United States of America. 2) Be a U.S. citizen or maintain legal residency within the United States. 3) Have achieved a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. 4) Must have applied for federal financial aid (FAFSA). 5) Excluded from consideration are employees and relatives of employees of JMX Brands, the company that owns DutchCrafters. Criteria: Students from all disciplines and fields of study are invited to apply. Scholarship recipients are selected based on the following factors: 1) Academic achievement and financial need 2) GPA of 3.0 or higher 3) The essay component of the application Scholarship recipients will be selected by the scholarship committee appointed by JMX Brands, which includes JMX Brands employees and appointed volunteers based on the criteria stated above. All scholarship recipients may be subject to a criminal background check. Recipients of a DutchCrafters Amish Furniture Heritage Scholarship shall not commit any act that indicates dishonesty or moral turpitude or that otherwise could materially injure the DutchCrafters reputation. If such an act is committed by a DutchCrafters Amish Furniture Heritage Scholarship recipient, the award shall immediately be revoked. In no instance will any Director or Officer of JMX Brands play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

I Mua Mälama JROTC Ka`awaloa Takemoto Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to encourage graduating JROTC Cadets to attend a post-high educational institution and give back to their community and nation by pursuing a career in public service in such professions as the military, law enforcement, firefighting, teaching, nursing, etc.  Minimum GPA 2.0  Be a graduating high school senior and Cadet in Junior Reserve Officer Training (JROTC) program from Farrington High School, Nänäkuli High School, or Kapolei High School  Half-time enrollment allowed  Successfully completed minimum one year JROTC program and held a leadership position  Demonstrate high moral character and exemplify the Army Values of: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage  Letter of recommendation signed by your respective schools Senior Army Instructor (SAI)

Gilbert Matching Student Grant Program

The Massachusetts Gilbert Matching Student Grant Program (GMSGP) makes funds available to participating Massachusetts' institutions of higher education and schools of nursing. At least one hundred percent of such funds must be used for direct financial assistance to needy Massachusetts's undergraduate students to enable them to attend or continue to attend such institutions. Who Is Eligible? To be eligible for a Massachusetts Gilbert Grant, a student must: Be a dependent student who is a permanent legal resident of Massachusetts and whose source of support is a parent who has been a permanent resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the twelve months prior to the opening of the academic year; or an independent student who has been a permanent resident of the Commonwealth for the twelve months immediately preceding the opening of the academic year. Be a United States citizen or an eligible non citizen. Not have earned a bachelor's or professional degree or their equivalent. Not be in default of a Federal or state education loan or owe a refund on any previously received financial aid. Demonstrate financial aid need according to program guidelines. Be maintaining satisfactory academic progress according to institutional and Federal standards. Be in compliance with applicable laws regarding Selective Service Registration. Be enrolled full-time. Not have earned a first diploma from a hospital or professional nursing program. Eligible Institutions An eligible institution shall mean an institution of higher education in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts which: Admits as regular students only persons having a certificate of graduation from a school providing secondary education or the recognized equivalent of such a certification, and Is legally authorized within the Commonwealth to provide a program of post-secondary education, and Provides an education for which it awards an associate or bachelors degree and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, or Provides an education which results in an award of a diploma indicating satisfactory completion of a hospital school or professional nursing program which is accredited by the National League of Nursing, and is approved by the State Board of Registration in Nursing Is not a public institution of higher education operated by the Commonwealth or its subdivisions and does not derive the major portion of its annual budget from state or local appropriations, and Does not have as its primary purpose education for religious purposes. Delaware Nursing Incentive Program

Eligibility requirements: Legal residents of Delaware. U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens. Full-time students enrolled in an accredited program leading to certification as an RN or LPN. High school seniors must rank in upper half of class with at least a 2.5 cumulative, unweighted GPA. Undergraduates must have at least a cumulative 2.5 GPA. Current state employees do not have to be Delaware residents and may be considered for prorated awards if enrolled part-time. RNs with five or more years of state service may enroll in a BSN program on a full- or part-time basis. Award: Loan not to exceed cost of tuition, mandatory fees, and other direct educational expenses. Renewable for up to three additional years with a cumulative 2.75 GPA. Healthline Stronger Scholarship

Healthline is teaming up with The Nature Conservancy to award four $5,000 scholarships to students who are committed to making a difference at the intersection of health and climate change through their studies, extracurriculars, and career goals. Mary B. Rhodes Scholarship

Awarded to children of international missionaries who are medical students and plan to go into international missions. Those majoring in nursing, dentistry, or pharmacy will also be considered. Application Deadline March 1 / Awarded in June Criteria for All Scholarship Applicants: Our primary mission focus is to assist Baptist students and/or entities, with activities that further the cause of Christ around the world. To be eligible for an MK scholarship, applicants must show that their parents are affiliated with a Southern Baptist-related entity.

The Helen N. & Harold B. Shapira Heart Undergraduate Scholarship

The Purpose: To stimulate interest in the study of heart and blood vessel diseases. The Scholarship: Every year one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate. The successful candidate will be eligible for a renewal of the $1,000 award for a second year provided they maintain satisfactory scholastic progress. Renewals will be considered in conjunctions with all new applications Who Is Eligible: Minnesota Students Only: Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a four year college or university in the State of Minnesota and working in a medically related curriculum with potential application to patients with diseases of the heart and blood vessel system are eligible. Students can receive no more than two undergraduate scholarships from the American Heart Association. How the Scholars Are Selected: Scholars will be chosen on merit by an American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate Committee of medical and/or scientific professionals.
