APIASF/United Health Foundation Scholarship

Minimum Eligibility Criteria Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply Be enrolling in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15 Submit one letter of recommendation online. Plan to pursue a degree that will lead to a career in the health field. Scholarship recipients must be majoring in a health field to receive renewal scholarships Demonstrate the intent to work in an underserved community Preference for students fluent in an Asian or Pacific Islander language Students must reside in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, KS, MN, NC, NM, NV, NY, TN, TX, WA or WI Preference for students who intend to transfer from a 2-year to a 4-year institution Enrolling as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in the upcoming academic year

HSF/GE Hispanic Forum Scholarship Program

Eligibility Requirements: Be of Hispanic heritage Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired) or be granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Must intend to enroll as an undergraduate Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior or 5th Year Senior in the next academic year and be pursuing first undergraduate degree Must major in one of the following: Accounting, Aeronautics/Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering/Biotechnology, Biology, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybernetics/Robotics, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Finance, Industrial Engineering/Technology, Information Technology (IT/MIS), International Business, Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Marketing, Materials Science/Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Mechanical Engineering, Neuroscience, Nuclear Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Physics, Science, Supply Chain Management, Telecommunications Have plans to enroll FULL-TIME at a four-year U.S. accredited college or university in the geographic locations listed above. Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarships

The eligibility criteria to be considered for a Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship are as follows: Students enrolled full-time as a high school senior, progressing normally toward graduation in the Spring/Summer, with plans to enter college no later than the Fall following graduation OR students enrolled full-time as a college freshman or sophomore, no older than 20 years of age and progressing normally toward a bachelor’s degree; Scholarships from the Foundation shall be used only at an institution that normally maintains a regular faculty and curriculum, and normally has a regularly organized body of students in attendance at the place where the educational activities are carried on, and that is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as being accredited by recognized accrediting agencies; Students seeking degrees through online or distance learning programs exclusively shall not be eligible for Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarships;* A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 for graduating high school seniors; A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 for college applicants; U.S. citizenship or permanent resident; All applicants must reside (permanent home address) in one of the following states and the District of Columbia: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Delaware and New Jersey. Employees of Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. Online/distance learning courses are permitted when a part of the required curriculum taught in the campus environment and when such course is only available online or through distance learning. Jimmy Rane Foundation scholars are students who exhibit academic excellence, leadership skills and community involvement as well as activities, awards and honors, and who have a demonstrated financial need in order to attend college. They must demonstrate their desire and ability to overcome barriers and to achieve their goals. Your application will be evaluated on your: Future goals and plans to achieve them; Successful preparation as a high school student to prepare and pursue a college education; Self motivation in completing challenging coursework; Demonstration of financial need.

Empowering Women In Law Scholarship

The Pearce Law Firm in Philadelphia is pleased to offer The Pearce Law Firm – Empowering Women In Law Scholarship. This scholarship opportunity is open to women nationwide who are currently attending a law school in the United States. This scholarship is intended to encourage & support outstanding achievement & leadership by example from women in the field of law. This award will be presented to a current female law student for the following academic year in the amount of $2,000.00 & will be paid at the beginning of the fall semester (2015). Requirements: This scholarship is judged & awarded primarily on academic achievement, school & community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities & financial need. The scholarship must be submitted, in full, by December 31, 2014. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. The applicant must be a current female law student. Applicant will have successfully completed at least one semester of law school but will not yet have graduated by fall semester of 2015. Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0. A transcript must be attached for application to be considered. An unopened copy of transcripts, sent from the applicant’s most recent law school will be required from finalists before award is presented. This scholarship is a one-time award worth $2,000. Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit recommendation letters and/or resumes to substantiate their application.

NASCAR/Wendell Scott Sr. Award

Full-time undergraduate or graduate students attending four-year HACU-member institutions with a declared major in Engineering, Business, Public Relations, Mass Media, Sports Marketing, Marketing, Management, or Technology. Students must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0., and attend school in Florida, Georgia, or North Carolina. Upon notification of selection, scholarship recipients are required to submit a headshot electronically to HACU for NASCAR press purposes, and encouraged to apply to the NASCAR Diversity Internship Program (www.nascardiversity.com). NASCAR and its partners help nurture new talent and raise awareness of the industry's efforts to increase diversity and attract the best minds in America.

A.J. Grisanti Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major. First preference given to students attending a school in Kentucky, followed by any culinary arts students at Johnson & Wales University or the Culinary Institute of America, followed by Hotel and Restaurant Administration majors at Indiana University- Purdue and Bloomington, Indianapolis Vocational Technical College, University of Denver, Wake Technical College, Rochester Institute of Technology, Southeast Community College, Kendall College or College of DuPage. Award amount: $2,500 Who Can Apply: First preference given to students attending a school in Kentucky, followed by any culinary arts students at Johnson & Wales University or the Culinary Institute of America, followed by Hotel and Restaurant Administration majors at Indiana University- Purdue and Bloomington, Indianapolis Vocational Technical College, University of Denver, Wake Technical College, Rochester Institute of Technology, Southeast Community College, Kendall College or College of DuPage.

Richard M. Arnold Scholarship

Eligibility Students who have completed at least one full year towards a Radiologic Technology degree at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College or Southwestern Community College. Selection Criteria Must be a full-time student in the Radiologic Technology Program who has completed the course requirements through the third (spring) quarter of the program. Must intend to complete requirements for the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Radiologic Technology, or to have already earned this degree and intend to complete an advanced degree in Radiologic Technology. Must have demonstrated outstanding scholastic achievement and clinical abilities, and achieved a cumulative 3.0 or better grade point average in courses required for graduation from the program as completed at the time of application. A copy of the applicant’s transcript must be submitted with the application, personal statement and letters of recommendation. Must demonstrate personal qualities important to the profession of Radiologic Technology. Must demonstrate financial need determined by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Asheville Wilbert Vault Service Scholarship

Eligibility One (1) one-time scholarship worth $2,000 will be offered this year. This scholarship is not renewable. Scholarship recipients may apply the funds to any post-high school educational course of study related to and leading to employment in the funeral service industry. Residents of Western North Carolina who have chosen funeral service as a career path are eligible to compete for this scholarship. Applicants must be seniors in a secondary school or doing equivalent work, or secondary school graduates. All members of the family, and/or employees of Asheville Wilbert Vault Service are ineligible for this award. The Community Foundation scholarships will be awarded without regard to age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation, religious belief, or any other characteristic protected by law. William Bradley Ayers Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility Graduating senior member of the Asheville High School band. Selection Criteria Present/Past Membership in the Asheville High School band Demonstrated financial need Academic ability with a commitment to complete an undergraduate degree Good moral Character Application Procedure To apply, students must complete an application online. Frank and Alan Bruckner Scholarship

Eligibility Graduating senior of A.C. Reynolds High School. Selection Criteria Strong moral character Demonstrated financial need Motivation to succeed Commitment to goals Academic performance/ability as shown in grades and test scores Community service (to school and the larger community) Involvement in sports, with preference given to students on golf, track or soccer teams Application Procedure To apply, students must complete an application online. John Francis Amherst Cecil Scholarship

Eligibility Dependents of current year-round full-time employees, year-round part-time employees or seasonal full-time employees of Biltmore, who have completed one year of service. Selection Criteria Legal dependents of current year-round full-time employees, year-round part-time employees or seasonal full-time employees of Biltmore, with one year of completed service at the time of application, are eligible to compete for the John Francis Amherst Cecil Scholarship. At the time of application, the applicant must be a senior in a secondary school or doing equivalent work, or a secondary school graduate. All members of the family of John Francis Amherst Cecil and all children of the officers of Biltmore are ineligible. Application Procedure To apply, students must complete an application online. The application, with required attachments, must be submitted online on or before the deadline.
