Robert L. Peaslee - Detroit Brazing and Soldering Division Scholarship

PurposeThe purpose for this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those individuals attending an accredited engineering college or university with an emphasis on Brazing and Soldering applications.EligibilityThe Robert L. Peaslee — Detroit Brazing and Soldering Division Scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a minimum four year bachelors degree in welding engineering or welding engineering technology with an emphasis on brazing and soldering applications. All applications must meet the following eligibility requirements. 1. Applicant must be a minimum of eighteen years of age. 2. Applicant must be at least a college junior. 3. Applicant must have maintained a minimum 3.0 grade point average in engineering courses. 4. No financial need is required to qualify. 5. Applicant must submit all required application information. 6. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States or Canada and be attending an academic institution located within the United States or Canada. 7. Applicant must show emphasis on Brazing and Soldering applications in their coursework. 8. Applicant may reapply; however, persons who have received this award may be granted the award for a maximum of two years.The award will be present to individuals nationwide. Applicant does not have to be a member of the American Welding Society.The AWS Foundation does not discriminate be age, race, color, national origin, disability, creed, or gender.

Past President Scholarship

PurposeThe purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those individuals interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in welding engineering, welding engineering technology, or an engineering program with an emphasis on welding (bonding and joining included), or be a graduate student pursuing a Masters or Doctorate in engineering and/or management.EligibilityThe Past Presidents Scholarship will be awarded to a college junior or senior pursuing a bachelors degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or an engineering program with an emphasis on welding (bonding and joining included), or be a graduate student pursuing a Masters or Doctorate in engineering and/or management. All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements. * A college student must be a junior, senior, or Graduate level (Masters or Ph.D). * An undergraduate student must be pursuing a bachelors degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or an engineering program with emphasis on welding (includes bonding and joining). * A graduate student, with a bachelors degree in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology, must be pursuing a Masters or Doctorate in engineering and/or management. * Applicant must have demonstrated leadership qualities, i.e., community involvement, AWS Section or other professional society participation, industry leadership, and be an AWS Member. * One or more recommendation letters must come from community members, local AWS Section Officers, and/or AWS District Directors, attesting to leadership capability. * One or more recommendation letters must come from Faculty (if a student), or from Employer (if employed). * Applicant must submit a 300-500 word essay on his/her objectives/aspirations in the field of welding. * Applicant must demonstrate financial need. The award will be presented to individuals nationwide.SelectionThe recipient will be chosen by a sub-committee of the Education Scholarship Committee.AwardsOne award of $2,500 paid to the recipient’s college or university. Awards are for tuition and books only.

O. J. Templet Memorial - Baton Rouge Section Named Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by BR Welding Supply and other donors in memory of O.J. Templet, The award is $750.Eligibility:• Most importantly, you must be enrolled in a welding-related educational or training program. • You must also be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent. • The school you attend must be in the United States or its territories, except for international scholarships. • You must also fill out the scholarship application and provide any documentation requested in the application instructions. • You are not required to be a member of the American Welding Society. As a matter of fact, if you are awarded a scholarship, you will receive a yearlong, full membership to the Society. If you are already a member, your membership will be extended for a year.

Dr. Daryl Morgan - Houston Section Named Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the AWS Houston Section to honor Dr. Morgan. The award is $500. Eligibility:• Most importantly, you must be enrolled in a welding-related educational or training program. • You must also be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent. • The school you attend must be in the United States or its territories, except for international scholarships. • You must also fill out the scholarship application and provide any documentation requested in the application instructions. • You are not required to be a member of the American Welding Society. As a matter of fact, if you are awarded a scholarship, you will receive a yearlong, full membership to the Society. If you are already a member, your membership will be extended for a year.

George Kampschafer - Houston Section Named Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the AWS Houston Section to honor George Kampschafer. The award is $500.Eligibility:• Most importantly, you must be enrolled in a welding-related educational or training program. • You must also be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent. • The school you attend must be in the United States or its territories, except for international scholarships. • You must also fill out the scholarship application and provide any documentation requested in the application instructions. • You are not required to be a member of the American Welding Society. As a matter of fact, if you are awarded a scholarship, you will receive a yearlong, full membership to the Society. If you are already a member, your membership will be extended for a year.

Lehigh Valley Section - Professor Robert D. Stout Scholarship

This award is sponsored by the AWS Lehigh Valley Section to honor Dr. Stout. The award is $1,250.Eligibility:• Most importantly, you must be enrolled in a welding-related educational or training program. • You must also be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent. • The school you attend must be in the United States or its territories, except for international scholarships. • You must also fill out the scholarship application and provide any documentation requested in the application instructions. • You are not required to be a member of the American Welding Society. As a matter of fact, if you are awarded a scholarship, you will receive a yearlong, full membership to the Society. If you are already a member, your membership will be extended for a year.

Ronald Theiss - Houston Section Named Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the AWS Houston Section to honor Ron Theiss. The award is $1,000.Eligibility:• Most importantly, you must be enrolled in a welding-related educational or training program. • You must also be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent. • The school you attend must be in the United States or its territories, except for international scholarships. • You must also fill out the scholarship application and provide any documentation requested in the application instructions. • You are not required to be a member of the American Welding Society. Shelton L. Ritter - New Orleans Section Named Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the New Orleans Section. This scholarship is sponsored by the Northwest Section. This scholarship is sponsored by Tri-Tool, Inc. and the AWS Sacramento Section. This scholarship is sponsored by the Pugent Sound Section. The award is $500.Eligibility:• Most importantly, you must be enrolled in a welding-related educational or training program. • You must also be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent. • The school you attend must be in the United States or its territories, except for international scholarships. • You must also fill out the scholarship application and provide any documentation requested in the application instructions. • You are not required to be a member of the American Welding Society. James W. Gardner - Ozark Section Named Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the Ozark Section and numerous friends and family. The award is $500.Eligibility:• Most importantly, you must be enrolled in a welding-related educational or training program. • You must also be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent. • The school you attend must be in the United States or its territories, except for international scholarships. • You must also fill out the scholarship application and provide any documentation requested in the application instructions. • You are not required to be a member of the American Welding Society.
