Paul Arnold Memorial Scholarship

For young men and women studying interior, fashion, or graphic design.

Ric Ulrich and Chuck Pischke Scholarship

For candidates intending studies that involve visual arts and design.

Icon of Industry Scholarship

Founded in 1984, NEWH is an international non-profit organization, with 18 chapters and 6 affiliated areas, which links professionals from every facet of the hospitality industry and related fields. The NEWH By-laws state one of the objectives of NEWH is to promote scholarship, education and interest in the Hospitality Industry. To date, NEWH has given $3,00,000.00+ USD in scholarships to young people wishing to pursue careers in the hospitality industry. The NEWH Icons of Industry Scholarship Award will be based upon the following criteria: Must be a currently enrolled student attending an accredited college Must have completed half the requirements for an undergraduate degree or be enrolled in a graduate program Must show financial need and have eligible outstanding debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of scholarship award in May 5 Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA Must be pursuing a career objective in the area of the Hospitality Industry with an emphasis towards the area(s) of hospitality determined by our ICON (criteria changes annually) Must have participated in an internship program or similar position An eligible school is defined as one that is fully accredited and will hold the scholarship moneys in trust for the student to draw down upon on an “as needed” basis without any service charges. Opens in May with deadline to apply in mid-September. Winner $5,000 scholarship award given at Gold Key Ceremony in New York in November. Honorable mention $3,5000 scholarship award given at HD Expo in Las Vegas the following May. Student travel and lodging paid by NEWH, Inc. winning student must attend award event and have eligible debt at time of award.

Symmons Smart Scholarship

NEWH, Inc is pleased to be able welcome Symmons Industries to our Vendor Scholarship family with a new $4,000 scholarship award for Interior Design and Architecture students. The award, which will be presented to a winning student each May at HD Expo, will include a design component starting in 2015. Standard Criteria Must be a currently enrolled student attending an accredited college Must have completed half the requirements for a degree or certification in the program you are currently enrolled Must show financial need and have eligible outstanding debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of scholarship award Must have a 3.0 GPA Provide the following: Student Essay Transcript Letters of recommendation from Dept. Head, Professors, Advisor Letters of recommendation from industry professionals, employers, etc.

FR-One Scholarship Award

The FR-One Scholarship Award sponsored by the late Harvey Nudelman and Fabricut. This is the eighth consecutive year for the $3,000 scholarship to be given to a student pursuing a career affiliated with the Hospitality Industry in Interior Design. The scholarship opens in September with a December deadline date. Standard Criteria Must be a currently enrolled student attending an accredited college Must have completed half the requirements for a degree or certification in the program you are currently enrolled Must show financial need and have eligible outstanding debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of scholarship award Must have a 3.0 GPA Must have a career objective in one of the areas of the Hospitality Industry (i.e., Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary/Foodservice, Architecture, Interior Design, etc.) Provide the following: Student Essay Transcript Letters of recommendation from Dept. Head, Professors, Advisor Letters of recommendation from industry professionals, employers, etc.

NEWH Sunshine Chapter Scholarship

Qualifications:  Must be a currently enrolled student attending an accredited college in Northern Florida or Mississippi  Must have completed half the requirements for a degree or certification in the program you are currently enrolled  Must show financial need and have eligible outstanding debt for tuition, books or supplies at time of scholarship award  Must have a 3.0 GPA  Must have a career objective in one of the areas of the Hospitality Industry (i.e., Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary/Foodservice, Architecture, Interior Design, etc.) Additional requirements must be included with your application:  Student essay, to include: o Background of yourself and your experience o Your goals and objectives after graduation o What prompted you to choose this career o Do you feel you made a contribution to your school program or fellow students through leadership or participation o Why is obtaining this scholarship important to you o If your application is not accepted, what plans do you have for financing  Official Transcript  Letters of recommendation from Professor, advisor and/or department head  Letters from industry professionals, employers, etc. Submit by email: Josh.altenbach@outlook.com Mailing address for transcripts/reference letters: Josh Altenbach 975 Lake Front Ln. NEWH New York Chapter Scholarship

Imagine America High School Scholarship

The Imagine America Foundation created its Imagine America High School Scholarship Program in 1998 to help provide scholarships for high school students. This annual scholarship program has helped thousands of high school seniors afford a career education at hundreds of career schools across the United States. Each year, every high school in the United States and Puerto Rico may nominate up to five graduating seniors to receive a $1,000 Imagine America scholarship!

Share Your Talent Scholarship

Whether it’s playing an instrument, a physical talent, or any other special skill you have, we want to hear how it’s progressed throughout your life. We want to know who has helped you grow your skills and encouraged you to keep working on your ability. Tell us about how you’ve pushed yourself to get better and why. A $500 tuition scholarship will be awarded once a year to the winning submission.

Buildium’s Build U. Scholarship

Buildium’s Build U. Scholarship awards one $2,000 prize each semester to the Product Design, Interaction Design, Engineering, or Computer Science student who best explains how having a shared set of beliefs is important for building a great company. The catch: You’ve got 1,000 words. Keep it short and sweet, but make it powerful and compelling. Then email your essay to scholarship@buildium.com. We’ll read all the essays and pick the one that best exemplifies how shared beliefs can build a better company. That’s it. Now get writing! Scholarship details: Two $2,000 cash scholarships will be awarded. One scholarship will be awarded in the fall, another in the spring. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee made up of members of the Buildium Marketing team, with input from other teams. The decision of the committee will be based on originality and quality of writing. Submission deadlines: April 1 (spring) and October 1 (fall) Scholarship requirements: College or university student in good standing at an accredited public or private university. (Please attach a copy of your unofficial transcript to your email in PDF format for verification.) Must be enrolled in a Product Design, Interaction Design, Engineering, or Computer Science program. Student must be at least 18 years of age. One entry per student per semester. Please use email. The subject line should read “Scholarship Essay” and students should include their first and last name, email address, and phone number. We love legible fonts, so please use Arial, Times New Roman, etc. Someone already wrote War and Peace. Please keep it to 1,000 words. We want to reward people like you who read all the way to the end of long and rambling and repetitive and repetitive and wordy and verbose scholarship announcements. Mention the super secret code word DMARK when you submit your application to enter a bonus drawing for a bunch of free (and super cool) Buildium t-shirts in your choice of sizes. IFDA Leaders Commemorative Scholarship

Open To Currently Enrolled, Full-Time Undergraduate Students, Extra Credit For Volunteer Work/Leadership The IFDA Educational Foundation established this scholarship, supported by the Georgia Chapter, to honor a past or present leader for commitment and service to the Georgia Chapter. Each year the scholarship honors a different individual whose name and contributions will be posted on the IFDA/EF website. This scholarship is available to any undergraduate student enrolled in an interior design or related program. The student must be involved with volunteer or community service and have held leadership positions during the past five years. ELIGIBILITY/GUIDELINES All applicants must have completed four design courses in post-secondary education at the time of application and be majoring in Interior Design or a related field. The completed application packet must include a sealed transcript of course work that verifies full-time status and shows your GPA. Transcript may be sent separately.

IFDA Part-Time Student Scholarship

Open To Currently Enrolled, Part-Time Undergraduate Students The IFDA Educational Foundation Board of Trustees added a scholarship for a part-time undergraduate student enrolled in a continuing interior design or related program at an accredited school. Applications accepted each year between March 1 and postmarked no later than March 31. Winner will be notified by July 31. See application form for further requirements. ELIGIBILITY/GUIDELINES All applicants must have completed four design courses in post-secondary education at the time of application and be majoring in Interior Design or a related field. The scholarship applicant must be currently enrolled in at least two courses as a part-time student. The completed application packet must include a sealed transcript of course work that verifies part-time status and shows your GPA. Transcript may be sent separately.
