Chemical Engineering Scholarships

The William Robert Findley Graduate Chemistry Scholarship is a one-time preferred amount $2,000 scholarship for a student attending graduate school full time in an accredited college or university and majoring in chemistry. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.25. The scholarship is not automatically renewable, however, recipients may reapply for consideration each year.

1. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in either a four-year college or a two-year technical program. 2. Applicants must be graduates of public or private high schools. Criteria: 1. Applicants must have a demonstrated or expressed interest in the plastics industry. 2. Applicants must be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. This would include but is not limited to plastics engineering, polymer science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and business administration. 3. An applicant must be in good academic standing with his or her college. 4. Financial need of applicant will be considered.

Applicants must be a high school senior, college freshman or sophomore enrolled in or planning to enroll in a four-year undergraduate program at a college or university in or near one of the following locations: Addyston, Ohio; Baytown, Texas; Orange, Texas; Berkeley, California; Goose Creek, South Carolina; Fitchburg, Massachusetts; Wilmington, Massachusetts; Kansas City, Missouri; Middletown, Virginia; Morristown, New Jersey; Ridgefield Park, New Jersey; Myerstown, Pennsylvania; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, New Martinsville, West Virginia; Shawnee, Kansas; Tarrytown, New York; or West Haven, Connecticut.

To qualify, a candidate must be: - African-American, Hispanic/Latino, or America Indian; - a U.S. citizen or permanent residents of the U.S.; - a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or community college; - high academic achievers in chemistry or chemical science; - able to demonstrate evidence of financial need according to the FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Applicants must be a high school senior from one of the following locations entering a four-year undergraduate program intending to major in chemistry or chemical engineering: Lake Charles, Louisiana; Natrium or New Martinsville, West Virginia; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Cleveland, Ohio; Shelby and Lexington, North Carolina; Oak Creek, Wisconsin; and Houston, Texas.

AACE International is dedicated to advancing the study of cost engineering, and cost management through the integrative process of total cost management. To promote this objective, AACE awards academic scholarships to full-time students pursuing a related degree in engineering, construction management, building construction, computer sciences, business, quantity surveying, information technology, etc. The cost engineering profession uses the process of total cost management to identify and define those areas of business in which the discipline of cost engineering and cost management principles may be applied to plan and control resources, assets, costs, profitability, and risk. The major elements of the cost engineering discipline include estimating, project/product controls, planning and scheduling, business sciences, and project/product management.Scholarship Descriptions:AACE International scholarships are available in amounts ranging from $2000 to $8000. Specific awards will be determined based on your overall scholarship and collegiate accomplishments.Eligibility:Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time students who are enrolled in a program related to cost engineering/cost management. AFCEA DC awards multiple single-year standard scholarships in the amount of $4,000 each, and one single-year scholarship in the amount of $8,000 to Metro-area high school seniors in the Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Maryland area. Second-year students in area community colleges who are entering a four-year college may apply for one-time scholarships of $2,000. Scholarship awards are provided to qualified students pursuing degrees in the C4I-related fields of engineering (electrical, computer, chemical, aerospace or systems); electronics; mathematics; computer science; physics; science education; mathematics education; technology management; or management information systems.

The scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors in California. To be eligible, a student must first have entered a regional or county science fair with a project related to any of the marine sciences -- geology, biology, meteorology, chemistry, etc. -- or to marine technology. (For information about entering their local science fair, students should talk with their science teachers or department heads.) In addition, the student must have applied to (and must be the following fall have enrolled in) a college or university in California.

To qualify, candidates must be: - African-American, Hispanic/Latino, or America Indian; - a U.S. citizen or permanent residents of the U.S.; - a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or community college; - high academic achievers in chemistry or chemical science (GPA 3.0 or better; - able to demonstrate evidence of financial need according to the FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). - a high school senior, college freshman, sophomore or junior intending to or already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science and planning a career in the chemical sciences or chemical technology.

To be eligible for a Project SEED scholarship, high school senior students must have worked at least one summer at a science institute under the Project SEED program. Scholarships are restricted to students who plan to major in a chemical science or engineering field such as chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, materials science, or some other closely related major. The scholarships are intended to assist former SEED participants in their transition from high school to college and consist of up to $5,000. Project SEED scholarships are nonrenewable and only awarded to first-year college students. Selection is based on achievement in school, success in the Project SEED program, financial need, and intended chemical-related field of scientific study.
