Seth Jordan Memorial Fund

An additional award of $2,000 will be given to supplement the scholarship received by the graduating high-school senior residing in Casco Bay who has the highest GPA. Available to graduating high-school senior applicants only.

Miss Hall’s School for Girls

The Miss Hall's School/Island Institute Scholarship was established in 1997 by an anonymous donor who is a longtime friend of Miss Hall's School. The scholarship is in the amount of $20,000 per year and is given to a girl from one of Maine's 14 year-round, un-bridged islands. Recipients must have an outstanding academic record and show significant extracurricular achievement. The scholarship is awarded to qualified applicants of any grade level.

Westover School Maine Scholarship Program

The Maine Scholarship was established by a Westover alumna who is a longtime resident of Maine. The alumna, who wishes to remain anonymous, said she decided to establish the scholarship at Westover because, “I wanted to make a difference for both the school and the young women of Maine. The Maine Scholarship Fund will provide young women from Maine a secondary education that will serve as an opportunity to diversify their lives and provide them with everlasting friendships.” The Westover School Maine Scholarship program will provide funds for up to two recipients a year to meet their needs for the cost of tuition, room, and board while they are at Westover. Students at all grade levels are eligible for entrance and are selected on the basis of personal qualities, academic merit, and financial need as determined by the School and Student Services for Financial Aid guidelines.

Howard F. Greene Memorial Scholarship

For college accounting majors Amount: $1,000 each Requirements: 1) Must be an accounting major with cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrate writing skills and show community service; 2) criteria based on academic achievement, writing skills, extra-curricular activities, work experience, career goals, and financial need.

Advantage Payroll Scholarship

For college accounting majors Amount: $1,000 each Requirements: 1) Must be an accounting major with cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrate writing skills and show community service; 2) criteria based on academic achievement, writing skills, extra-curricular activities, work experience, career goals, and financial need.

Catharine Wilder Guiles Scholarship

This scholarship encourages Maine-based professionals in the mental health field to obtain the best graduate level training possible. The Catharine Wilder Guiles Scholarship will provide assistance to Maine residents with demonstrated financial need who are pursuing graduate education in the mental health field at the University of Maine at Orono or the University of Southern Maine. Preference will be given to second-year graduate students with demonstrated commitment and potential; students who plan to work in the public sector (community mental health) rather than the private sector in Maine; and to students participating in classroom setting rather than distance learning. Activia Training Annual Scholarship Award

Activia Training are pleased to offer a $1,500 annual scholarship for college, university, high school or trade school students in the US. There is no specific course of study required, and you can use the money in whatever way that you feel benefits your studies the most. There will be two scholarship awards of $750 each year, awarded in November and May as follows: - The video winner will receive $500 - The essay format winner will receive $250 Furthermore, all entries adjudged to be of a suitable standard will be eligible for an “expenses award” as follows: - YouTube videos: $20 - Blog articles: $15 To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be at least 16 years of age and attending, or have secured a place, at a college, university, high school or trade school in the US. BASAA Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who attends a US university/college located in the BASAA area (Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Connecticut). Applicants must meet general FEA scholarship eligibility requirements & preferences. Students interested in being considered for this annual scholarship should indicate this through their application forms. Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the U.S. Must be applying for a study abroad program eligible for credit at the student’s educational institution Must plan to study abroad for a minimum of 4 weeks in country Is committed to supporting education abroad in his/her campus community through work with the FEA and his/her campus education abroad staff upon return Preferences: Applying to a study abroad program known for its academic rigor and immersion elements Applying to a study abroad program that includes studying the language of the host country (if not English) Applying to a study abroad program with a sustainable service-learning or volunteering component Applying to a study abroad program in a non-traditional destination Demonstrates financial need FEA strongly encourages students to apply who represent a group that is traditionally underrepresented in education abroad Groups typically underrepresented in study abroad include, but are not limited to: Minorities First-generation college students STEM majors Community college students Students with disabilities

NEWWA Scholarships

Additional scholarships may be awarded to students, regardless of field of study, with preference given to those candidates whose programs of study are related to the water works industry. Students who are attending or have been accepted into appropriate college/university programs at the undergraduate level are eligible to apply. Applicants must be members of NEWWA. Applicants must reside in New England or attend a college/university in New England to qualify. Student Application Requirements Student applicants must submit the following: • Official student application form • A two-page (maximum) résumé (that includes educational history) • Official transcripts of all university education (if applicant has not started higher education, official transcript from high school is required) • Two letters of recommendation (one must be from a teacher/professor; the second may be from a teacher/professor or professional reference such as an employer) • A one-page (maximum) statement of educational plans and career objectives demonstrating how these plans are beneficial to water works practice in New England • Copy of FAFSA (Free Applications for Federal Student Aid) confirmation Selection Criteria – Students The NEWWA Scholarship Committee considers application on the basis of merit, character and need to members and student members of the New England Water Works Association, with preference given to applicants whose programs are considered by the Scholarship Committee as beneficial to water works practice in New England.

The Michael Garofano Memorial Scholarship

($1,500) – Civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a water operations or related science-program Students who are attending or have been accepted into appropriate college/university programs at the undergraduate level are eligible to apply. Applicants must be members of NEWWA. Applicants must reside in New England or attend a college/university in New England to qualify. The Joseph Murphy Scholarship

($1,500) – Civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related science program or business program applicable to public water supply at an accredited college Students who are attending or have been accepted into appropriate college/university programs at the undergraduate level are eligible to apply. Applicants must be members of NEWWA. Applicants must reside in New England or attend a college/university in New England to qualify.
