General Eligibility  Applicants must be a minimum of eighteen years of age  Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED  Financial need is not required  Applicant must be a current welding educator or pursuing a career in welding education National Level Eligibility  Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university with a degree program in the applicant’s area of study  Applicants must have maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA in degree program courses  Applicants must be pursuing an AS, AAS, BS, MS, or PhD degree in an area related to Welding (eg. William (Bill) Kielhorn Educators Scholarship

Timothy Turner Educators Scholarship

District Educators Scholarships

General Eligibility  Applicants must be a minimum of eighteen years of age  Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED  Financial need is not required  Applicant must be a current welding educator or pursuing a career in welding education District Level Eligibility  Applicants may use funds for professional development courses  Preference will be given to applicants pursuing an AS, AAS, BS, MS, or PhD degree in an area related to Welding (eg. Welding Technology, Welding Engineering Technology, Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics) or Education related to welding (eg. Metalworking Scholarship from Travers Tool Company

Travers Tool is proud to announce our second Metalworking Student Scholarship, which offers $1,250 in tools for students enrolled in metalworking programs at vocational and technical schools. As your metalworking experts, Travers Tool is again thrilled to sponsor the industry’s next generation of machinists.

APWU Vocational Scholarship Program

The APWU National Executive Board established the Vocational Scholarship to help students interested in programs of study leading to trade, technical, industrial or vocational occupations that can include, for example: Culinary, Medical or Dental Assistant, Electrician, Real Estate, Auto Mechanic, Certified I/T‐Computer Education, Massage Therapy or Cosmetology. Five recipients from among the five postal regions will receive up to $3,000 to be used for up to three years of study in a specific trade, technical, industrial or vocational school. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS  A senior attending high school or other corresponding secondary school.     Child or grandchild, including stepchild or legally adopted child of an active member, Retirees Department member, or deceased member of the American Postal Workers Union.  Parent or grandparent must be a full dues paying member or retiree member [as defined in the APWU National   Constitution and Bylaws, reference Article 3, Section 1, Section 4(d)] in good standing or must have been a member immediately preceding death.  Recipients for the Vocational awards must attend an accredited community college, vocational school or   vocational program.      Must maintain [status report to be provided to APWU annually]: 1. “B” average, or 2. “Pass” if Pass/Fail system, or 3. An evaluation from the Counselor or Instructor   EXCLUSIONS  Children/grandchildren of all Elected National Officers.  Sponsor is currently a postal manager.     Scholarship will be discontinued if the sponsor becomes a postal manager.  Applicants from other Postal Unions (NALC, NRLCA, NMPHU)

AREMA Educational Foundation Scholarships

General criteria for all scholarship applicants include having an interest in railway engineering, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0, and being available for interview by the AREMA Scholarship Committee. Enrolled student who has completed at least one quarter or semester in an accredited* four or five year engineering or engineering technology undergraduate degree program.

AREMA Presidential Scholarship

General criteria for all scholarship applicants include having an interest in railway engineering, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0, and being available for interview by the AREMA Scholarship Committee. Enrolled student who has completed at least one quarter or semester in an accredited* four or five year engineering or engineering technology undergraduate degree program.

Canadian National Railway Company Scholarship

General criteria for all scholarship applicants include having an interest in railway engineering, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0, and being available for interview by the AREMA Scholarship Committee. Enrolled student who has completed at least one quarter or semester in an accredited* four or five year engineering or engineering technology undergraduate degree program.

Committee 1 - Roadway & Ballast Scholarship

General criteria for all scholarship applicants include having an interest in railway engineering, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0, and being available for interview by the AREMA Scholarship Committee. Enrolled student who has completed at least one quarter or semester in an accredited* four or five year engineering or engineering technology undergraduate degree program.

Committee 18 - Light Density & Short Line Railways Scholarship

General criteria for all scholarship applicants include having an interest in railway engineering, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0, and being available for interview by the AREMA Scholarship Committee. Enrolled student who has completed at least one quarter or semester in an accredited four or five year engineering or engineering technology undergraduate degree program.

Committee 30 - Ties Scholarship

General criteria for all scholarship applicants include having an interest in railway engineering, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0, and being available for interview by the AREMA Scholarship Committee. Enrolled student who has completed at least one quarter or semester in an accredited four or five year engineering or engineering technology undergraduate degree program.
