Ohio Newspaper Women’s Scholarship

The Ohio Newspapers Foundation will award a $1,500 scholarship to a male or female student who is enrolled as a junior or senior in an Ohio college or university and majoring in journalism or an equivalent degree program.Eligibility * Applicant may be male or female and must be enrolled as a junior or senior at an Ohio college or university for the academic year.Include the Following With Your Application: * A recommendation from one college professor (non-journalism) and one college professor in the journalism or communications department. * A transcript of college grades * Three or four newspaper clippings demonstrating applicant’s writing skills. * Applicant’s answers to the following questions (limit of two typed, double-spaced pages per question):1. Who or what was your inspiration to get involved in the field of journalism and why did you select print journalism as your area of interest?2. Why do you need a scholarship? What do you think qualifies you for a scholarship?3. What do you hope to accomplish during your career as a professional journalist?

Roger Barry Award

Established in 1991 and named after the retired golf writer at the Patriot Ledger Newspapers in Quincy, this award is restricted to journalism or communications majors or students intending to pursue a career in those fields.To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. The awards are "need-based" and assist with tuition at accredited undergraduate institutions.

Union Leader Charitable Fund, Inc. Loeb Educational Grant

William Loeb and Nackey Loeb, the late publishers of the Union Leader and New Hampshire Sunday News, loved New Hampshire and its young people’s spirit of independence. Strong advocates of independent journalism, the Loebs worked tirelessly to sustain the autonomy of New Hampshire’s largest daily newspaper.Each year, the Union Leader Charitable Fund, Inc. Board of Directors will award one $5,000 educational grant to a person who best exemplifies the Loebs’ spirit of independence and journalistic integrity.Educational grants are open to all individuals who meet the following criteria, regardless of age or educational status:- Have been New Hampshire residents for at least two years- Plan to attend a post-secondary education program- By June, have proof of acceptance and/or enrollment in the post-secondary program within one year of the award- Applicants must submit an essay, letter of recommendation, and transcript to be considered for the award.- This award is not based on financial need or grade point average, but rather on the applicant’s vision of journalistic integrity.

ISF-Dollar-a-Day Scholarship

ISF offers many joint scholarship programs with partner organization that share its common mission and vision. ISF is honored to host a joint scholarship with Dollar-A-Day Scholarship Fund. The ISF National Scholarships are open to all ISF supported majors. Description and Eligibility: ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of three months. Each Eligible Applicant Must Be: Muslim and active member of the Muslim Community; Attending an accredited university in the U.S.; Majoring in an ISF supported field of study; Maintaining a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average; A Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.; An undergraduate (junior/senior) or of graduate standing.

ISF-ICCNC Scholarship

ISF supports Islamic organizations and mosques by planning and managing scholarship programs to students of their community. ISF is honored to host the scholarship program of the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California, ICCNC. The ISF-ICCNC Scholarship program is only open to members and individuals affiliated with ICCNC. Description and Eligibility: ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of three months. Each Eligible Applicant Must Be: Muslim and active member of the Muslim Community; Attending an accredited university in the U.S.; Majoring in an ISF supported field of study; Maintaining a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average; A Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.; An undergraduate (junior/senior) or of graduate standing.

ISF-MCA Scholarship

ISF supports Islamic organizations and mosques by planning and managing joint scholarships. ISF is honored to host the ISF-MCA Scholarship of the Muslim Community Association of the Bay Area, MCA. The ISF-MCA Scholarship program is only open to members and individuals affiliated with the MCA. Description and Eligibility: ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of three months. Each Eligible Applicant Must Be: Muslim and active member of the Muslim Community; Attending an accredited university in the U.S.; Majoring in an ISF supported field of study; Maintaining a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average; A Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.; An undergraduate (junior/senior) or of graduate standing.

ISF-Yaseen Foundation Scholarship

ISF supports Islamic organizations and mosques by planning and managing joint scholarships. ISF is honored to host the ISF-Yaseen Foundation scholarship. The ISF-Yaseen Foundation Scholarship program is only open to members and individuals affiliated with the this center. Description and Eligibility: ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of three months. Each Eligible Applicant Must Be: Muslim and active member of the Muslim Community; Attending an accredited university in the U.S.; Majoring in an ISF supported field of study; Maintaining a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average; A Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.; An undergraduate (junior/senior) or of graduate standing.

ISF-SBIA Scholarship

ISF supports Islamic organizations and mosques by planning and managing joint scholarships. ISF is honored to host the ISF-SBIA scholarship of the South Bay Islamic Association, SBIA. The ISF-SBIA Scholarship program is only open to members and individuals affiliated with this center. Description and Eligibility: ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of three months. Each Eligible Applicant Must Be: Muslim and active member of the Muslim Community; Attending an accredited university in the U.S.; Majoring in an ISF supported field of study; Maintaining a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average; A Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.; An undergraduate (junior/senior) or of graduate standing.

ISF-MCC Scholarship

ISF supports Islamic organizations and mosques by planning and managing joint scholarships. ISF is honored to host the ISF-MCC Scholarship of the Muslim Community Center East Bay, MCC. The ISF-MCC Scholarship program is only open to members and individuals affiliated with the MCC. Description and Eligibility: ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of three months. The ISF-Ehsan Scholarship is only open to members and individuals affiliated with this center. ISF supports Islamic organizations and mosques by planning and managing joint scholarships. ISF is honored to host the ISF-SoCal Shura Council Scholarship of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California. The ISF-SoCal Shura Council Scholarship is only open to members and individuals affiliated with this organization. Description and Eligibility: ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of three months. Each Eligible Applicant Must Be: Muslim and active member of the Southern California Muslim Community; Attending an accredited university in the U.S.; Majoring in an ISF supported field of study; Maintaining a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average; A Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.; An undergraduate (junior/senior) or of graduate standing.

ISF-IIOC Scholarship

ISF supports Islamic organizations and mosques by planning and managing joint scholarships. ISF is honored to host the ISF-IIOC scholarship of the Islamic Institute of Orange County (IIOC). The ISF-IIOC Scholarship program is only open to members and individuals affiliated with this center. Description and Eligibility: ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of three months.
