Nursing Scholarships

Here are some of the Nursing scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship

AcademyHealth is pleased to offer the Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship which provides two free registrations to the National Health Policy Conference (NHPC) and four free registrations to the Annual Research Meeting (ARM). The scholarship is designed to encourage professional and educational development in health services research and policy among student members. Eligibility Requirements I am a current student member of AcademyHealth. (check website on how to join) I am enrolled full-time in a masters or doctoral program at the time of application. I am not a past recipient of the AcademyHealth Alice S. Hersh Student Scholarship, the Public Health Systems Research Interest Group Student Scholarship, or the Aetna Foundation Minority Scholars Program. I have not previously attended AcademyHealth conferences. Criteria for Judging Applications The selection committee will judge the applications based on: Commitment to the field of health services research or health policy. Potential to contribute to health services research or health policy. Description of how attending this year's conference will help you achieve your academic and/or professional goals. Quality of the short-answer questions (well-written, clear and within the word limit requested).

Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship

Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship Annual Application Deadline: January 29 Eligibility: Applicants must be 17 or over with a 3.0+ GPA, and enrolled or accepted to a nursing or healthcare-related program. Both graduate and undergraduate students welcome to apply. Must submit a 600-1000 word essay. USF Dissertation Fellowship Program

Members of one of the following groups: African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, or American Indians, and are U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents. Candidates must have completed all course work leading to the doctorate and must be considering a career in college teaching in one of the following fields: Business (Family Business, Sustainable Organizations); Education (Educational Philosophy and Foundations, Research Methods, Higher Education and Student Affairs); English; Chemistry; History (African American, California, Islamic World, 18th-19th Century Europe); Information Systems; Mathematics; Nursing (Adult Surgical Nursing); Organizational Development/Behavior; Philosophy; Public Administration; or Theology and Religious Studies. Pending funding, the Program provides a stipend of $32,000 and limited support for relocation and research-related expenses. The University of San Francisco invites applications from underrepresented scholars for the USF Dissertation Fellowship Program. Program: Scholars complete the dissertation and initiate an ongoing program of scholarly or creative work, and become familiar with the usual service responsibilities of a university faculty member. Scholars teach one course in the discipline each semester and serve the University in various capacities. Additional support includes office space, computer and library privileges. The University of San Francisco is a Jesuit Catholic University founded in 1855 to educate leaders who will fashion a more humane and just world. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to work in a culturally diverse environment and to contribute to the mission of the University. Application: Applicants should submit a letter of application (indicating area of expertise), curriculum vitae, transcripts, dissertation prospectus or proposal and timeline, brief description of research plans, evidence of teaching ability (including student evaluations), and three letters of recommendation.

Kaiser Nursing Scholarship

Eligibility: • Open to students who are pursuing health care and nursing careers• Financial need will be considered • Submit 2 reference letters including at least one from a faculty member GPA: 3.00

Katherine E. Stine Scholarship

Eligibility: Nursing Major • Junior level • May be renewed for senior year at CSU Stanislaus• Must be entering RN or BSN Program* Contact Department of Nursing for information and applications GPA: 3.00

Mercy Medical Center Scholarship

Eligibility: Nursing Major • Must be an employee of Mercy Medical Center in Merced• Applicant must be enrolled in the nursing program or taking prerequisite coursework GPA: 2.50

The Sheuerman Scholarship in Nursing

Eligibility: Nursing Major • Junior/Senior standing• Part-time or Full-time enrollment• Cover letter from student• Letter of recommendation from faculty• Financial need required GPA: 3.00

Astanza Q-Switched Laser Annual Scholarship

Astanza is committed to supporting those who aspire to be the next generation of technology innovators and medical providers. The Astanza Q-Switched Laser Annual Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded to students pursuing education in: Physics Biology Engineering Medicine Nursing Other natural or applied science fields The scholarship will only be awarded to students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 that are enrolling in an accredited college in the upcoming fall. The scholarship is a one-time award of $2,500 that may be used for tuition, books, and other education-related expenses. To Apply Application for the Astanza Q-Switched Laser Annual Scholarship is completely electronic. ALL of the following materials must be submitted for a scholarship candidate to be considered: Completed application form (available for download - see website) Scanned acceptance letter to accredited college/university Scanned recent transcript (either from high school or college) To apply, send one (1) email to scholarship@astanzalaser.com with all of the above materials attached. In the email text, write a cover letter explaining why you are a good candidate for this scholarship and why you are pursuing an education in your field of choice.

The Recovery Village Healthcare Scholarship

A scholarship for students pursuing a health-related degree program. Areas of study that will be considered include, but are not limited to, counseling, social work, emergency medicine, pre-med, nursing, psychology (with a focus on addiction counseling or a substance-abuse related field).

AORN Foundation Scholarship Program

The program provides funding for undergraduate and graduate education to AORN members who apply for scholarships and meet the established requirements. Application form required.
