Music Scholarships

Here are some of the Music scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Share Your Talent Scholarship

Whether it’s playing an instrument, a physical talent, or any other special skill you have, we want to hear how it’s progressed throughout your life. We want to know who has helped you grow your skills and encouraged you to keep working on your ability. Tell us about how you’ve pushed yourself to get better and why. A $500 tuition scholarship will be awarded once a year to the winning submission.

Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship

The Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship is awarded to students who are in financial need and have been accepted or are attending an accredited school of occupational therapy (including art, music, or physical therapy).

Nellie Love Butcher Music Scholarship

The Nellie Love Butcher Music Scholarship as a one-time preferred amount of up to $5000 which shall be given annually to a male or female music student who is pursuing an education in piano or voice. Special consideration shall be given to students currently attending the Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts, Washington, DC. A performance CD (compact disc) must be submitted with the application. This substantial scholarship is for one year, and is not automatically renewable; however, recipients may reapply for consideration each year, for four years based on maintaining a 3.0 grade point average.

Chicago Musical Arts Club Scholarship

Description: The Chicago Musical Arts Club Fund provides a scholarship each year to a student or students nominated in alternating years by the Merit Music School and the Chicago Academy for the Arts. Eligibility: Students at Merit Music School or the Chicago Academy for the Arts.

Bart Pitman Memorial Music Scholarship

The Bart Pitman scholarship is awarded to two high school seniors (winner + runner up) totaling $9,000 ($6000+$3000) for a keyboard scholarship. It is available to two high school seniors who plan to declare a major in classical piano or organ at a degree granting conservatory, college or university in the fall semester following graduation from high school.

Thompson-Thiex Memorial Scholarship

Special Qualifications: • Applicant must be a music education major at Lawrence UniversityScholarship is renewable.

Lycoming College Music Scholarships

Students with an interest in vocal or instrumental music and the intention of performing at Lycoming are invited to audition with faculty from the Music Department. In addition to scales, students will be asked to perform two contrasting pieces. Depending on experience, students may also be asked to sight read. Auditions are conducted on Monday and Friday afternoons and during Open House programs. Call the Office of Admission for details.

MSU College of Arts and Architecture Scholarships

Montana State University's College of Arts and Architecture is offering a new scholarship for Native American students wishing to study art, architecture, film photography or music. Offered by the Dean’s Office of the MSU College of Arts and Architecture, the $2,500 scholarship is available to incoming or transfer students who will be full-time students for the next school year. Students must declare a major offered by one of the four schools housed in the college. Those schools include the School of Art, School of Architecture, School of Film and Photography and the School of Music. "This scholarship is an important step in our college’s commitment to expand opportunities for Native American students to pursue an education in the arts," said Nancy Cornwell, dean of the MSU College of Arts and Architecture. Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average and be a Native American tribal member (or proof of descent) / Alaska Native tribal member (or proof of descent). Applicants are asked to submit an essay of approximately 500 words that addresses why he or she is interested in pursuing a degree in the College of Arts and Architecture. A copy of a transcript with cumulative GPA must be included with the application.

Janet Monroe Wendschlag and Bryan John Wendschlag Memorial Scholarship Fund

In their memory the family has established a scholarship to be awarded to a junior or senior student pursuing an art, music or elementary education degree. The student must be a North Dakota resident and a graduate of a North Dakota high school.

Mildred Torbenson Memorial Music Scholarship

One $500 vocal music scholarship available to graduates of Enderlin, ND, High School and attending VCSU.

Bruce P. Carlson Student Scholarship Competition

92nd Annual Schubert Club Scholarship Competition The Schubert Club Student Scholarship Competition, held each spring, awards approximately $50,000 annually to young musicians. (An additional $10,000 is given away in other scholarship and grant programs.) Two cash prizes in each age and instrument category are awarded – $2000 and $1500 – to be used for further musical education. The Competition is named in memory of Bruce P. Carlson, executive director of The Schubert Club from 1968 to 2006. Participants can download and mail, or electronically submit an application. Please read all the information carefully. Applications must be received complete with all required information and one $45 (per contestant) application fee. Payments and applications can be mailed to The Schubert Club offices or online with payment through PayPal. Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must be a resident or enrolled in a learning institution within the 5-state region (MN, WI, SD, ND or IA). Please check website for dates of competition.

Randy Pausch Scholarship Fund

The Randy Pausch Scholarship was established by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences in 2008 to honor the memory of Computer Science Professor and Co-Founder of the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Randy Pausch. This scholarship has been established to support students who are pursuing careers specializing in the development of interactive entertainment. Possible career paths for Randy Pausch applicants include (but are not limited to) art, animation, programming, engineering, game direction, game design, sound design, and music composition.
