Music Scholarships, Nickels for Notes

Senior in a Massachusetts high school. Competitve scholarships of $800 for major in piano, instrument, music education or music therapy.

Susan L. Tajra Music Scholarship

Applicants include students majoring in classical piano, organ and harpsichord currently enrolled in a school of music, conservatory of music, or the music school of a college or university. Also eligible are high school students who have been accepted into one of those institutions. Must demonstrate financial need.

Hugh and Mabelle Scott Memorial Music Scholarship

This award offers a scholarship of up to $1,000 for those who plan to major in the field of Music. Awards are based upon the pool of qualified applicants. Requirements: Pursue a degree and career in the field of music.

Johneen Roth Epstein Scholarship

One non-renewable $500 award To qualify for this scholarship, you must be: * completing your freshman year or beyond at Brevard College * committed to the serious study of vocal music at Brevard College * committed to continuing music in your life and the lives of others beyond college This scholarship has the following special characteristic: * preference for students who have declared or plan to declare a music major General Criteria: * North Carolina residents * Financial need * Academic achievement and potential, as indicated by class rank, grade point average (GPA) and/or standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) * A history of active participation in school activities, community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experience * Strong moral character

Lead Belly Music Scholarship

Lead Belly's impact on the history of American music is unquestioned and legendary. He is a forerunner to Rock and Roll, as well as an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We at the Lead Belly Foundation aspire to expose the world to many such influential artist through our scholarship recipients, support to school music programs, community music institutes and camps. It is our hope that future artist may one day change the way we listen to music and attain honor of having their own music recorded over and over again like a vast majority of famous musicians have done with the music of Lead Belly.

Dennis Coleman Scholarship

For LGBT students studying choral conducting or music with preference given to those committed to creating social change through music.

The Robert Day & James Smith Memorial Trumpet Scholarship

Established to provide a scholarship for a qualified student of trumpet performance who is in need of financial assistance to study trumpet or purchase an acceptable instrument.Recipients of this scholarship are chosen by the Robert Day and James Smith Memorial Trumpet Scholarship Committee.

The Music Foundation of SW Florida College Scholarships

Each year a Southwest Florida high school senior can receive a scholarship to Edison Community College to major in music. The recipients audition for and are accepted by the Music Department at the college.

Glenn Miller Birthplace Society Scholarships

Application Requirements/Description:Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors or first year college students who intend to make music a central part of their future life. Those who have entered as high school seniors are eligible to compete again as college freshmen, unless they have been previous first place winners.APPLICANTS must submit a clear high-quality audio CD or cassette tape to the Scholarship Committee.

The Rosamund Victoria Adler Scholarship for Lawrence University

Established by Anne & Bette Adler (founders of the MarshfieldArea Community Foundation) in honor of their mother.Eligibility: Preference will be given to female Lawrence university students who are enrolled in the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. Further preference will be given to students from the Marshfield area or from Wisconsin. Financial need is a requirement. The scholarship is renewable.Application: Contact Sara Holman at the Financial Aid Office ofLawrence University, 920/832-6583.

Kelly Ann Garcia Memorial Scholarship for the Performing Arts

PURPOSE The Kelly Ann Garcia Memorial Scholarship for the Performing Arts was established for the purpose of providing financial assistance to students who personify spirit and potential in the performing arts with an emphasis on voice. The scholarship was established to assist seniors planning to major in vocal music at an accredited college or university, and to provide financial assistance, to vocal music students entering their junior and senior years, in attending music camps, academies, or musical tours. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS Scholarship applications can be obtained from CAPS High School counselors, or the Cadillac Area Community Foundation. Two reference letters must accompany the applications, with one preferably from someone currently in the field of vocal music. The reference letters must be completed by someone other than a family member. Also, if applying for vocal camp, academies, or tours, the student MUST attach copies of brochures or registration forms showing the event he/she wishes to attend. From the Application deadline date, please allow approximately 30 days to receive a written response as to the status of your Application. Those Scholarship Applications that are approved are eligible to receive their scholarship immediately upon written request to the Executive Director of the Cadillac Area Community Foundation during the calendar year in which the Scholarship is awarded. ELIGIBILITY, SELECTION CRITERIA, & USE OF SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS Scholarships shall be awarded based on selections and recommendations by the Scholarship Advisory Committee to the Cadillac Area Community Foundation.

Arts Scholarship Program

The Arts Scholarship Fund, founded in 1999, awards scholarships to high school students who demonstrate an interest in pursuing an education and/or career in any of the various fields of the arts including the performance of music, drama, dance, and the creativity of visual art such as fine art and graphic design. Award Amount: $1,000 Max. Projected # of Awards: 1 - 2
