Here are some of the Music Performance scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Music Awards

Departmental determination based upon auditions for those living within 200 miles or tapes beyond 200 miles; separate music application required - call School of Music, (909) 335-4014. Submission: Music awards are offered as a result of auditions or the evaluation of tapes. Although offered on a rolling basis, music candidates are advised to apply by Phase I, as well as contact the School of Music for an audition or submission of tape. Please indicate on the application your interest in the music award. Renewal policy: Academic good standing with at least a 2.7 GPA with requirement of private music study and participation in large ensemble.

Get Showcasd Performing Arts Scholarship

The Get Showcasd Performing Arts Scholarship is for any and all performing artists. Just answer this question: How have the performing arts impacted your life? You may submit videos, audio files, photos, documents, or typed text. The winners will be chosen based on creativity, originality, and the quality of their answer. Glenn Miller Birthplace Society

Clarinda’s Glenn Miller Birthplace Society is, once again, offering scholarships in both instrumental and vocal categories. Winners of the scholarships are awarded $3,000 for 1st place, $2,000 for 2nd place, and $1,000 for 3rd place in each category. These scholarships, which are awarded without regard to any other award, may be used for any education-related expense. It is not the purpose of this competition to select Glenn Miller look-alikes or sound- alikes, nor is it limited to pop music performances. Rather, in honoring Glenn, we wish to seek out and assist promising young talents from any field of applied music who may be musical leaders of tomorrow.

Col. Curtis Kekoa (KS ’40) and Nenita Maldonado Kekoa Scholarship

 Minimum GPA 3.0  Demonstrate desire to work in the area of, but not limited to military and/or music  Demonstrate a commitment to contribute to the greater community  Financial need may be considered in the selection  One letter of recommendation citing applicants credentials & potential for success  Essay outlining the students eligibility and reasons why they deserve this award  Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) General criteria: • Must be a classified undergraduate student • Enrolled in a degree-seeking program, unless specifically noted • Enrolled in a two- or four-year, accredited* college institution in Hawai`i or the continental U.S. • Full-time status, unless specifically noted • Demonstrate interest in Hawaiian language, culture, history • Demonstrate a commitment to contribute to the greater community. Applications are open to the general public. However, it is the policy of the Pauahi Foundation to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.

Berenice Barnard Music Specialist Scholarship

College Major/Area of Study: Music (Education or Performance) Student Profile: Student from the city of San Buenaventura or Ojai enrolling at an accredited college, university or studying under a known music teacher. Student must demonstrate interest and involvement in music. Special Requirements: Essay should discuss why student wishes to continue his/her music education; two of the three required letters of recommendation must directly relate to the student

Alan and Bonnie Strauss Music Scholarship Fund

Eligibility: Music Major • Describe in 400 words, your interest and goals within music (within the Educational/Career Goals section of the Scholarship Application) GPA: 3.00

American Choral Directors Association Scholarship

Eligibility: • Voice major• Member of ACDA student chapter GPA: 3.00

Burton Shimer Scholarship

Major: Music GPA: 3.00 Class Level: Incoming freshmen, Continuing or Transferring student

Dieter and Hannah Renning Music Scholarship

Eligibility: Music Major • Part-time or Full-time enrollment GPA: 3.00

Gottschalk Memorial Scholarship

Major: Music GPA: 3.00 Class Level: Incoming freshmen, Continuing or Transferring student

Leslie L. Szarvas Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Music Major • Preference will be given to music composition concentration GPA: 3.00

Mary Ellen Niel Scholarship

Eligibility: • Keyboard music major• Public service (describe in Statement of Objectives) GPA: 3.00
