Women of Color Scholar Program

Candidates must be female, have an M. Div degree and be enrolled as a full time student or accepted into a full time program. Must be an active member of the United Methodist Church for at least 3 years. Juliette M. Atherton Scholarship Program

The scholarship was named in memory of Mrs. Atherton to ensure the continued association of her name and her special interest in Christianity with the foundation. The scholarship benefits three categories of individuals: 1) active, ordained Protestant ministers residing in Hawaii wishing to continue their education; 2) dependent sons or daughters of ordained, active Protestant ministers in Hawaii pursuing undergraduate studies; and 3) individuals from Hawaii pursuing graduate theological studies at a Protestant seminary with the goal of ordination. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their financial need and academic promise. For sons and daughters of Protestant ministers and seminary students, applications will be available beginning Nov. Application materials, including the application form, transcript of grades, and personal letter must be postmarked on or before Mar. 1. Ordained Protestant ministers wishing to continue their education should contact scholarship staff for application information. Sons or daughters of ministers and ministers applying for continuing education grants must provide the place and date of ordination, and name of the seminary attended to confirm eligibility.

Ministry Scholarship Program

Scholarship Purpose: The purpose of the Mary E. Bivins Foundation Religious Scholarship Program is to educate ministers to preach the Christian religion. Scholarships are provided for an undergraduate or graduate education leading to a Bachelors or Masters Degree in a field that prepares the student to preach the Christian religion. Priority will be given to students intending to serve as pulpit pastors upon graduation. Scholarship Criteria and Award: * The student must be dedicated to seeking an undergraduate or graduate education leading to a Bachelors or Masters Degree in a field that prepares the student to preach the Christian religion and with the intent to serve as a pulpit pastor. * The student must be committed to studies and maintain a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or above or a cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 or above. * The student must be a permanent resident of one of the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. * The student must enroll and pass a minimum of 12 hours each semester at the undergraduate level or 9 hours each semester at the graduate level. * The student must enroll in a college or university that is an accredited institution. Scholarship awards are based upon $1,000 per semester for those students classified as a freshman or sophomore, $2,000 per semester for those students classified as a junior or senior and $3,000 per semester for graduate students to be used for tuition, books, fees, and other expenses as necessary for college/university attendance. Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis, and the student is required to continue to meet all award criteria each semester and to complete an application annually.

Randy Wayne Ahuna Scholarship

 Minimum GPA 3.0  Major in social work, social sciences or the ministry  Demonstrate financial need  Preference given to applicants not residing on O`ahu  Two letters of recommendation; one from a teacher and one from a community or religious organization who can comment on your overall character, achievement and contribution to serve the greater community  Essay describing your reasons for pursuing a degree in social work, social sciences or ministry vocation and how you have already applied these character traits into your own life: faith, friendship, sense of humor, sincerity and willingness to assist others with time, talent and servant’s heart.  Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Applications are open to the general public. However, it is the policy of the Pauahi Foundation to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.

Other Majors Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria:•Must be of Hispanic background•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico•Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year•Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year•Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale•Must demonstrate financial need•Must be studying a major that falls under the Other Majors Application

Evoke Scholars Program

The Evoke Scholars Program was established as a result of a generous gift from the Lilly Endowment Inc., an Indianapolis-based, private philanthropic foundation created in 1937 by three members of the Lilly Family -- J.K. Lilly Sr. and sons J.K. Lilly Jr. and Eli -- through gifts of stock in their pharmaceutical business, Eli Lilly and Company. The Evoke Scholarship Program will recognize five Loyola University Chicago students with a one year scholarship of $2,500 each. Eligible candidates must be students who are actively exploring a career in ministry. Open to all faith traditions. This scholarship is renewable on a competitive basis. Qualified students must complete an application form and consent to a personal interview with members of the Evoke staff. APPLICANT CRITERIA:The Evoke Scholarship Program is open to undergraduates at Loyola University Chicago who are in good standing within their respective college. Minimally, an applicant must: - be a current sophomore or junior in status, entering their junior or senior year - be enrolled full-time - have a 3.0 minimum cumulative grade point average - have demonstrated volunteer service or paid employment in one or more community- or faith-based settingsSCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS:Evoke Scholarship recipients will be required to: - Complete 150 internship "discernment" hours in a community- or faith-based setting - Meet weekly with other Evoke Scholars in a small faith-sharing group - Meet monthly with a spiritual director for ongoing discernment - Take part in an internship seminar (THEO 348) and a capstone course (THEO 347) - Participate in two personal interviews with members of the Evoke staff

Clarence and Bonnie Shaffer Scholarship

Scholarship for a senior who is a member of the Trinity United Meth. Church majoring in music, education or ministry.

Hershell & Gladys Umbaugh Scholarship

Scholarship for Concordia Theological Ministries.

Susan K. & Douglas E. Dodge Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:•Applicant must be a graduating senior of Reed City or Shepherd Community Schools. •Demonstrate academic ability with a minimum 3.25 GPA.•Demonstrate positive attitude toward school and community.•Demonstrate strong community involvement and volunteerism.•Have an interest in pursuing a career in public service (i.e. careers in the fields of education, health care, social services, ministry or political science)

AGBU - Religious Studies Fellowship

AGBU offers scholarships to graduate students of Armenian descent worldwide (excluding citizens of Armenia studying in Armenia) who are pursuing religious studies (theology, youth ministry). Applicants must be enrolled in full-time degree programs at seminaries or highly selective colleges/universities worldwide with a GPA of 3.0 and above as measured by the American grading system scale. Grants are awarded annually in the range of $1,500-$5,000 USD, and applicants may apply for renewal for up to three (3) years toward seminary/college/university education expenses.

Iwalani Carpenter Sowa Scholarship

Graduate Students Only  Be a graduate degree student  Intend to pursue a career as a Protestant Christian minister upon graduation and have a desire to minister in Hawai`i  Demonstrate financial need  Preference given to Kamehameha Schools graduates  Submit two letters of recommendation from applicant’s religion professor, college advisor, church minister or community organization who can comment on your overall character, achievement and contribution to serve the greater community  Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Applications are open to the general public. Hocutt Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to anyone pursuing a career in Baptist missions with an emphasis on, but not limited to, the chaplaincy or U.S. based missions. Application Deadline February 1 / Awarded in April Criteria for All Scholarship Applicants: Our primary mission focus is to assist Baptist students and/or entities, with activities that further the cause of Christ around the world. To be eligible for an MK scholarship, applicants must show that their parents are affiliated with a Southern Baptist-related entity.
