Health Care Majors Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria:•Must be of Hispanic background•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico•Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year•Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming academic year•Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale•Must demonstrate financial need•Must be studying a major that falls under the Health Care Majors Application

Imagine America High School Scholarship

The Imagine America Foundation created its Imagine America High School Scholarship Program in 1998 to help provide scholarships for high school students. This annual scholarship program has helped thousands of high school seniors afford a career education at hundreds of career schools across the United States. Each year, every high school in the United States and Puerto Rico may nominate up to five graduating seniors to receive a $1,000 Imagine America scholarship!

Healthcare Leaders Scholarship

IMPORTANT DATES Applications Accepted: February 10, 2017 - January 29, 2018 Final Award Selection: March 15, 2018 Scholarship Awarded: Spring Quarter 2018 REQUIREMENTS The Healthcare Leaders Scholarship is offered to students entering or currently pursuing an educational program related to nursing or medicine. Applicant must be a US citizen, at least 17 years of age, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. All applicants must submit a 600 to 1,000-word essay explaining what they hope to accomplish during their career in the medical field and how the scholarship would fulfill those goals. Recommended topics are included in the Personal Essay section. All applications must be received by January 29th, 2018. Finalists will be notified in February and must provide proof of enrollment and GPA (letters of acceptance, transcripts, etc.) before the scholarship recipient is selected. SELECTION Applications will be reviewed by a panel. The winner will be selected based on the criteria set forth in the requirements section of this document. Once the winner is decided and notified of the award, he/she will receive a mailed 1099-MISC tax form and the check will be delivered to their address. The winner of the scholarship award will be fully responsible for the taxes incurred from receiving the award.

Amaze Yourself Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDING PURPOSE At Landau, we are looking to support an amazing, new generation of healthcare professionals dedicated to making a positive social impact by way of healing. Landau’s commitment to you goes beyond funding your education; we want to ensure you have the resources needed throughout your education and professional development. (including accredited two and four-year colleges, universities, vocational-technical and trade schools). • You’ll have to identify the specific secondary education program, college or certificate/degree option you want to get into, or for which you need funds. You may be looking to enroll or already enrolled in this secondary educational program. • You must be willing to work with Landau’s Scholarship Management team throughout the application and award process.

APIASF/United Health Foundation Scholarship

Minimum Eligibility Criteria Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply Be enrolling in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15 Submit one letter of recommendation online. Plan to pursue a degree that will lead to a career in the health field. Scholarship recipients must be majoring in a health field to receive renewal scholarships Demonstrate the intent to work in an underserved community Preference for students fluent in an Asian or Pacific Islander language Students must reside in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, KS, MN, NC, NM, NV, NY, TN, TX, WA or WI Preference for students who intend to transfer from a 2-year to a 4-year institution Enrolling as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in the upcoming academic year

AHIMA Merit Scholarships

One of the major initiatives of the AHIMA Foundation is to attract and support new talent in the health information management (HIM) industry by improving educational opportunities for current and future HIM professionals through scholarships. The AHIMA Foundation annually offers merit scholarships to currently enrolled outstanding undergraduates in HIM and health information technology (HIT) as well as those professionals pursuing master's or doctoral degrees in areas related to health information. There are four levels of scholarships offered: Associate's degree - $1,000 award for students pursuing a Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) accredited AA degree in HIM or HIT Bachelor's degree/Post-Baccalaureate certificate - $1,500 award for students pursuing a CAHIIM accredited BA/BS degree or a Post-Baccalaureate certificate in HIM or HIT Master's degree - $2,000 award for students pursuing a Master's degree in areas related to HIM or health informatics Doctoral degree - $2,500 award for students pursuing a doctoral degree in an area related to health information Eligibility To be eligible for a merit scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application Submit a completed online application and all of its components Additional requirements are listed on the online scholarship application

The AHIMA Foundation Board Chair’s Graduate Scholarship

For a graduate student who demonstrates leadership in HIM. Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application 7. Assembly on Education Honorary Scholarship

Awarded to support HIM educators going back for further education Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application 7. The AHIMA Foundation Diversity Scholarships

Available to students who illustrate why their lives are in alignment with the AHIMA Foundation’s Guidelines on Diversity Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application 7. The CSA Leadership Scholarships

For applicants who exhibit a solid record of volunteerism Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application 7. The Charlotte Lefert Memorial Endowed Scholarship

For applicants who have a commitment to the long-term and post-acute care sector Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application 7. The Conifer Health Solutions Scholarship

For applicants who have demonstrated a commitment to service-learning or community service. Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6.
