Brooklyn Architects Scholarship Foundation, Inc.

The foundation awards scholarships to students studying architecture. Please contact the foundation through letter for more information.

Estelle Siebens Excellence Scholarship

* One scholarship awarded annually worth up to US$10,000 per annum * For study in the US and Canada at the undergraduate and graduate levels * Approved fields of study are agriculture, architecture, economics, education, engineering, marine construction, marine design and manufacturing systems Giving primarily in the Bahamas.

Center for Architecture Foundation Design Scholarship

Award: Single or multiple awards up to $5,000 Purpose: Financial aid for deserving students studying architecture, design, planning or a related discipline in an accredited program within New York City. Eligibility: Students seeking their degree in architecture or related design discipline from an accredited school within New York City. The Dean or Chair of the architectural school or accredited design program shall invite up to three students from their respective college or university to apply based on their high level of academic performance and evidence of financial need. Financial need of the student shall be determined by the guidelines of the Financial Aid Officer of the school nominating the candidate.

Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Fellowship

Award: Multiple awards up to $20,000 Purpose: The LeBrun grant is intended to further the personal and professional development of an architect in early or mid-career through travel. This should be centered on a selected topic of interest and meaning to the individual, rather than as part of a larger humanitarian or institutional endeavor. The resulting research will be presented to the AIA New York Chapter upon return. Eligibility: Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen with a degree in architecture and be a full-time practitioner, either licensed or unlicensed. At least one award will be given to an architectural graduate who received their first professional degree at least five years prior to the date of submission.

Arnold W Brunner Grant

Award: Grant(s) of up to $30,000 Purpose: Advanced study in any area of architectural investigation which will effectively contribute to the knowledge, teaching or practice of the art and science of architecture. The proposed investigation is to result in a final written work, design project, research paper, or other form of presentation. Eligibility: Applicants must be engaged in the profession of architecture or a related field and have a professional background more advanced than five years of architectural training or its equivalent.

Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo Scholarships

Eligibility: Scholarships are restricted to current residents of the eight counties of Western New York. Students must have been admitted to a nonprofit [501(c)(3)], U.S. Department of Education accredited school in the United States for full-time study at the undergraduate level. Applicants who permanently relocate outside Western New York are no longer eligible for funding. Students who attend college outside Western New York remain eligible if they maintain a permanent residence in Western New York. In addition, Pell eligible applicants will be given strong preference in the award decision process. A limited number of scholarships are available for graduate students in specialized fields (architecture, arts, engineering, medicine, nursing, piano, environment, and wildlife). Please check the website for deadlines and additional information. Limited to residents of the eight counties of Western New York.

NEWH Chapters Scholarships

Chapter scholarships are awarded annually based upon the following criteria: Standard Criteria: Attend an accredited institution of higher learning Competition of half of the requirements for a degree or certification in the program currently enrolled Show financial need Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Have a career objective in one of the areas of the Hospitality Industry, such as Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary/Foodservice, Architecture, Interior Design Provide the following: Student Essay Transcript Letters of recommendation from Dept. Head, Professors, Advisor Letters of recommendation from industry professionals, employers, etc.

AIA/AAF Minority/Disadvantaged Scholarship Program

High school seniors, technical school/junior college students and college freshmen who are entering a program leading to a professional degree (bachelor or master of architecture) are eligible to apply. Students who have already completed the first year of a standard four-year curriculum are not eligible. Applicants must be residents of the U.S.

Gilbane Scholarship Program

Scholarship Value: $5,000 Classifications: Open, Undergraduate Sophomore, Undergraduate Junior Minimum GPA: 2.5 Eligible Majors: Engineering, Mathematics, Architecture Eligible Schools: UNCF Member Colleges and Universities, Selected HBCUs and majority institutions (please check the website for the complete list) Eligible Locations: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware Scholarship Detail: Gilbane provides a scholarship in the amount of $5,000 after students have successfully completed a paid summer internship. The additional participating institutions are the following: Alabama A & M University, Florida A & M University, Hampton University, Jackson State University, Morgan State University, North Carolina A & T State University, Southern University and Tennessee State University. The participating institutions within the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area and the state of Pennsylvania are the following: Drexel University, Pennsylvania State University, Temple University, University of Delaware, University of Pennsylvania and University of Pittsburgh. NEWH Las Vegas Chapter Scholarship

The NAHB Professional Women in Building Strategies for Success Scholarship

The NAHB Professional Women in Building Strategies for Success Scholarship Fund encourages students to further their education in housing industry related programs. It was initiated in 2001 by NAHB Professional Women in Building Past National President Deborah Ferland and Austin Ferland and is supported through the generosity of Professional Women in Building members, individuals, and corporations.Up to $2,000 can be awarded to a full time student pursuing education in a building-related course of study, such as construction management, construction technology, civil engineering, architecture, design, or any of the trade specialties at the college or university they attend. The scholarship award may be used to pay tuition, fees, and/or books.
