The Tar Heel State of North Carolina is a diverse and eclectic place. Some parts of the state are as flat as the ocean. At the other end, the state boasts of the highest elevation in the Eastern U.S. in Mount Mitchell (nearly 7,000 feet). Similar to the wide ranging elevations in North Carolina, there are also a wide range of colleges and universities.
The state features several world famous learning institutions. These include Duke University, the University of North Carolina, Wake Forest, NC State and Appalachian State University. But that's not all. There are also smaller liberal arts colleges that are internationally regarded and feature small class sizes and accommodating teacher-to-student ratios. Couch Oil Company of Durham will award four $1,000 scholarships to four high school seniors in a 12-county area who plan to attend a 4-year college or community college.

Provides scholarships to graduate and undergraduate students who have shown a career interest or demonstrated practical experience in the plastics industry.
Be a full-time student in good academic standing
Be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. This includes but is not limited to chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and business administration.
Be a rising college sophomore, junior or senior at a four-year college or two-year technical school
A graduate of a four-year college seeking to obtain a post-secondary graduate degree.
Provides scholarships to graduate students who are pursuing either a master's degree in nursing or a doctoral degree in nursing or a related discipline.
Be a legal resident of North Carolina
Have completed a minimum of six (6) semester hours of course work in their graduate program of study by the application deadline (courses in progress DO NOT meet this requirement)
Be granted unconditional admission to a master’s degree program in nursing or a doctoral degree program in nursing or a related discipline and be classified as a graduate degree student by the college or university*
*Master's program must be located in North Carolina; doctoral program may be outside of North Carolina
Provides undergraduate scholarships to high school seniors graduating from Charlotte-Mecklenburg high schools (public or private) who have experienced the death of one or both parents.
Be a graduating high school senior from a high school located in Mecklenburg County, NC (public or private) planning to enter a four-year degree program at an accredited institution
Be a legal resident of Mecklenburg County, NC
Has experienced the death of one or both parents
Provide scholarships to undergraduate students with demonstrated aptitude and career potential in the arts.
Have demonstrated talent and a declared major that indicate potential for a significant career contribution to the arts
Be a rising college junior or senior in good academic standing with his or her institution
Undergraduate students enrolled at Appalachian State University - School of Business and Health.
Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program relevant to medical practice management, including public health, business administration, healthcare administration and other related areas.The scholarships are not intended to support individuals pursuing degrees in:

The purpose of this scholarship is to financially assist students who are pursuing a career in gerontology or geriatrics.
Selection of Recipient(s):
To apply for the scholarship, a student must be a junior, senior or graduate student currently enrolled in an accredited university within the eight Southeastern states: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, North and South Carolina.
The following criteria will be used to rank nominations:
25 percent - Financial need
25 percent - Application aptness
10 percent - Writing skills
15 percent - Maintain 2.5 GPA
10 percent - Commitment to do volunteer work with elderly
LA Tutors awards a monthly $500 Innovation Scholarship to high school and college students who showcase their creativity and make a positive impact.
Available to full-time undergraduate engineering or pre-engineering students pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a course of study that traditionally has been a preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession. Applicants must have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is the highest and/or a class standing of no less than the top 30% and be enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution that meets one of the following:
The institution hosts a recognized ASHRAE student branch or
The program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
