Massachusetts Scholarships

Some states or counties have hundreds of scholarships for which you may qualify.

Joyce A. Tracy Fellowship

AAS Short-Term Fellowships provide support for one-to two months' residence in the Society's library at stipends of $1,850 per month (an increase from past levels). Taken as a whole, AAS Short-Term Fellowships are open to individuals, including foreign nationals and persons at work on doctoral dissertations who are engaged in scholarly research and writing in any field of American history and culture through 1876. This fellowship is for research on newspapers and magazines or for projects using these resources as primary documentation. The award derives from an endowment established in memory of the Society's longtime curator of newspapers and periodicals. Doctoral candidates may apply.

AAS-Northeast Modern Language Association Fellowships

For research in literary history of America and the Atlantic World in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that can be supported by the collections of the American Antiquarian Society. The award is jointly funded by the Northeast Modern Language Association and AAS. Degree candidates are not eligible. NEMLA membership is not required of applicants; awardees who are not already members must join. Doctoral candidates may apply. Criteria Fellows are selected on the basis of the applicant's scholarly qualifications, the scholarly significance or importance of the project, and the appropriateness of the proposed study to the Society's collections. Stipend $1,850 per month

H. H. Snow Family Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund is awarded to a graduating senior who is furthering their education. Preference is given to students majoring in retail.

Hai Guin Scholarship

Hai Guin Scholarship Association of Boston is a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to MA residents of Armenian descent who attend college or university in the United States. Awards are in the amount of $2,000/yr/student. Company Overview Hai Guin Scholarship Association is a 501(c)3 organization. Membership is comprised of women of Armenian descent representing church communities in the greater Boston and surrounding areas Description Please note the following requisites for the scholarship application to be complete: o Must be 1/8 Armenian descent o Must be a permanent resident of Massachusetts o Must have completed one full year at the college/university to which scholarship will be applied o Must have a completed FAFSA application o Must have recommendation as requested on application o Awards given to undergraduate and graduate students that qualify. Scholarships in the amount of $2,000 are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students based on merit, academics and professor recommendations.

Norma and Saul Feingold Scholarship

For a graduating Worcester senior to attend a Worcester college. Eligibility To receive 99% of our scholarships, you MUST live in Worcester County, Massachusetts. All of our scholarships are awarded for full-time enrollment in an undergraduate 2- or 4-year degree program at an accredited college or university. If you already have a Bachelor's Degree, you are not eligible for our scholarships. Using information from the scholarship application, foundation staff match all applicants with the scholarships for which they are eligible. 70% of our scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors. Both high school seniors and current college students are eligible for the remaining 30% of our awards.

Gerald A. Fogarty Memorial Scholarship

Sponsored by the Providence & Worcester Railroad Company. For students pursuing undergraduate studies in computer science or information technology. Eligibility To receive 99% of our scholarships, you MUST live in Worcester County, Massachusetts. All of our scholarships are awarded for full-time enrollment in an undergraduate 2- or 4-year degree program at an accredited college or university. If you already have a Bachelor's Degree, you are not eligible for our scholarships. Using information from the scholarship application, foundation staff match all applicants with the scholarships for which they are eligible. 70% of our scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors. Both high school seniors and current college students are eligible for the remaining 30% of our awards.

Sylvia Gafvert Stubblebine Scholarship

For students of any age from the Worcester area to study instrumental classical music. Requires an audition with Music Worcester. Finalists must perform a movement from a concerto or a work from the standard classical repertoire, 5-7 minutes in duration on an orchestral instrument or piano. Students provide their own accompanist, if needed. Eligibility To receive 99% of our scholarships, you MUST live in Worcester County, Massachusetts. All of our scholarships are awarded for full-time enrollment in an undergraduate 2- or 4-year degree program at an accredited college or university. If you already have a Bachelor's Degree, you are not eligible for our scholarships. Sarah Daniels Pettit & William O. Pettit, Jr. Schp

A need-based scholarship for a graduating Worcester senior to pursue undergraduate education. Eligibility To receive 99% of our scholarships, you MUST live in Worcester County, Massachusetts. All of our scholarships are awarded for full-time enrollment in an undergraduate 2- or 4-year degree program at an accredited college or university. If you already have a Bachelor's Degree, you are not eligible for our scholarships. Michael Minty Memorial Scholarship

For children of present or deceased members of the Worcester Rugby Football Club to pursue undergraduate education.

Wallace D. and Dorothy M. Andrews Scholarship

For African American graduating high school seniors with demonstrated financial need and pursuing a degree in the fields of bioscience, mathematics, engineering or physics. See website for deadline of application. Scholarship application is available every 1st of January.

Jenica Lynn Junnila Memorial Scholarship

For a graduating senior from Sutton who completed at least two academic years in the Sutton Public School system.

Summer B. Tilton Memorial Scholarship

For graduating seniors form Worcester or a contiguous town (Holden, Grafton, West Boylston, Millbury, Boylston, Auburn, Shrewsbury, Leicester, or Paxton) to attend an outstanding educational institution. Scholarships may be renewed beyond undergraduate studies for law school.
