Landscape Architecture Scholarships

Here are some of the Landscape Architecture scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

General Scholarships

To qualify, you must be a woman and have COMPLETED at least your first year in architecture; landscape architecture; civil, structural, mechanical or electrical engineering as related to architecture; urban and land planning; interior design; environmental design or architectural rendering and illustration. You must be attending a California school or be a California resident attending an out-of-state school. You must be enrolled for the ensuing year. A maximum of ten students will be chosen as finalists. They MUST APPEAR, at their own expense, for a mandatory interview in Los Angeles.

Colorado Garden Show, Inc. - FULL-RIDE FOUR YEAR SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship Amount: This scholarship includes tuition, fees, room & board, and all required books for the four years. In addition, the student will be given a laptop computer and printer at the start of their freshman year. Number Awarded: One per year Applicants must major in Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Design, Botany, Biology (as it applies to horticulture/agriculture sciences), Forestry, Agronomy, Conservation, Plant Pathology, Environmental Concerns, City Planning and/or other allied subjects. (Approval must be granted by Colorado Garden Foundation for any major other than those specifically listed above.) Only Colorado residents can apply. The scholarship award will be for a maximum of four years. Must be an incoming freshman at a Colorado public college or university. This scholarship offered by Colorado Garden Foundation is a four-year scholarship available to an incoming freshman at a Colorado public college or university.

Raymond F. Cain Scholarship Fund

Requirements: Major or concentrate in a field related to Landscape Architecture. Minimum GPA of 2.7. Demonstrate financial need. Be a resident of Hawaii.

Arysta LifeScience North America Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY: Pursuing a four-year degree in agronomy, crop or plant science, horticulture, business/landscape/nursery or turfgrass management, agricultural communications, public relations, sales or marketing, entomology or plant pathology. Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale required. Must reside in Arizona, California, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota or Washington (state).AWARD: Five scholarships at $1,275 each, non-renewable.

Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY: Pursuing a two- or four-year degree in any field directly associated with horticulture, landscape architecture, plant science, nursery and landscape or turf management, plant breeding and genetics or plant pathology. Student must exhibit strong leadership skills and have participated in community service.AWARD: One scholarship at $1,500, non-renewable.

Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY: Pursuing a two- or four-year degree in any field directly associated with horticulture, landscape architecture, plant science, nursery and landscape or turf management, plant breeding and genetics or plant pathology. Student must exhibit strong leadership skills and have participated in community service.AWARD: One scholarship at $1,500, non-renewable.

The Rome Prize Fellowship in Landscape Architecture

Provides a residential year at the American Academy in Rome for an American landscape architect for advanced study, travel, and association with other fellows in the arts and humanities.

The GCA Interchange Fellowship & Martin McLaren Scholarship

Provide a reciprocal exchange of British and American graduate students in horticulture, landscape architecture, or related fields. The intent of the program is to foster cultural understanding, promote horticultural studies and exchange in The Martin McLaren Horticultural Scholarship provides a noncredit work/study program in Great Britain for an American recipient, selected by the GCA Scholarship Committee. The academic year offers periods for study, research, and practical work at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and Edinburgh and other botanic gardens, the National Trust gardens, as well as an optional university semester at Reading University. The Interchange Fellowship provides funding for a British recipient to attend a graduate program in the U.S. in landscape architecture or horticulture for one academic year. Selection is by a committee appointed by the McLaren Trust. The program in the U.S. is administered by The GCA Scholarship Committee and in the U.K. by the Institute of Horticulture. The McLaren scholar is able to combine practical experience and study at several institutions. She/he is expected to arrive in England during the summer to allow adequate time for visits to sites or horticultural interest. The Martin McLaren trust provides for the major costs of housing, board, tuition and an allowance for personal needs.

The Loy McCandless Marks Scholarship In Tropical Ornamental Horticulture

Fosters the study of tropical ornamental plants and their use in horticulture and landscape architecture. It affords a graduate student, or advanced undergraduate, an opportunity to study at a leading foreign institution that specializes in the field of tropical plants. The Loy McCandless Marks Scholarship is administered by the GCA Scholarship Committee.

The Douglas Dockery Thomas Fellowship In Garden History and Design

Established to further the study of history and design in the American garden. It is intended, also, to look to the future of gardens and their unique place in our environment. The art of the garden increases in importance today with the growing restraints on all open spaces. Project study would have wide scope. This unique award, administered by the Landscape Architecture Foundation, provides a fellowship to a graduate student for study and research at an institution in the United States. Selection is by a panel appointed by the Landscape Architecture Foundation.

The GCA Internship In Garden History & Design

Established to encourage the study of garden history and design, and if possible, aid in the cataloguing of the GCA slides in the Archives of American Gardens at the Smithsonian Institution. Preference is given to an undergraduate or graduate student wishing to work and pursue independent research at the Archives, but is available to a student at any facility approved by the Scholarship Committee providing adequate supervision and structure. The award of $2000 may supplement any internship remuneration provided by the facility. Archives of American Gardens Applicants: The term of the internship is 10 to 16 weeks. The stipend of undergraduates is $360 per week, and for graduate students, $420 per week. Interns are allowed one half day each week to complete independent study projects. Interns may arrange for academic credit through their college or university. Students with courses in horticulture, ornamental horticulture, landscape design and related fields are best suited. Interns working in the Archives of American Gardens will gain experience in the following: collections registration, cataloging and description, research, development of finding aids, inventory, and basic preservation practices. Projects focus on organizing and processing photographic materials, keeping archival records, locating and verifying data for research or exhibition purposes, cataloging images and describing their content according to recognized standards, image digitization, computer automation of the records collection, and preparing reports. The images and history preserved in the AAG collection provide the researcher with a valuable source of information on American gardens not found anywhere else in the country. A variety of individual research projects can be developed from these rich resources. Themes represented include: historical garden styles, garden furniture, art and ornaments, cultural influences on garden design, and regional landscape practices. AAG staff work with applicants to develop individualized projects.

Vectorworks Design Scholarship

Nemetschek Vectorworks values the different backgrounds and experiences of the next generation of designers. We want to reward talented students and support their studies. While we strive to provide funding to as many students as possible, only a limited amount of scholarships are issued each year.The scholarship supports the next generation of creative potential on two levels.
