American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Foundation Scholarships

Basic qualifications for eligibility for an AANA Foundation Scholarships are: Currently enrolled (not merely accepted) in an AANA accredited nurse anesthesia educational program. An AANA member. Additional criteria may be specified by the individual scholarship donors Sponsors are sought each year to grant scholarships. Applications are available after the first of the year. Scholarship funds can only be used for nurse anesthesia education. Amount Awarded: $1,000 to $3,500 Duration: 1 year.

Inaffit, LLC NATUREAL Health Is Greater Than Wealth

If you are in need of supplemental assistance for college, the Inaffit, LLC NATUREAL Health Is Greater Than Wealth Scholarship will make it easier for you to achieve your dream! Scholarships are available for high school seniors and undergraduate students that completed two years of college pursuing a degree in medicine, nursing, dental, research, nutrition or other health-related program.

CANA Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to members of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists who are residents of California or pursuing further education at a program in the state. Amount Awarded: $1000 Number Awarded: 1 each year. Duration: 1 academic year. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the association who are either 1) residents of California, or 2) attending a nurse anesthesia program in the state. They must be currently enrolled in a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the sponsor. Selection is based on academic achievement, participation in student organizations, and involvement in school and community activities. Additional Information: Funding for this program is provided by the California Association of Nurse Anesthetists. The application fee is $25.

Dean and Fred Hayden Memorial National Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to members of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists who are interested in obtaining further education. Amount Awarded: $2500 Number Awarded: 2 each year. Duration: 1 academic year. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the association who are currently enrolled in an accredited nurse anesthesia education program. Applicants must be second-year students who demonstrate financial need and outstanding academic excellence. Students in nurse anesthesia education programs must hold a current license as a registered nurse and a bachelor of science in nursing or another appropriate baccalaureate degree from an approved nursing program. Dean Hayden Student Research Grant

To provide funding to student members of the AANA who interested in conducting research. Amount Awarded: $2500 Number Awarded: Varies each year. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: Applicants for these grants must be students in good academic standing and members of the association. They must be proposing a research project related to the field of nurse anesthesia.

Dean Hayden, CRNA Missouri Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to members of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists who are interested in obtaining further education in Missouri. Amount Awarded: $1500 Number Awarded: 2 each year. Duration: 1 academic year. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the association who are currently enrolled in an accredited nurse anesthesia education program in Missouri. Applicants must be second-year students who demonstrate financial need and outstanding academic excellence. Students in nurse anesthesia education programs must hold a current license as a registered nurse and a bachelor of science in nursing or another appropriate baccalaureate degree from an approved nursing program. Additional Information: The application fee is $25.

Dean Hayden Student Research Scholarship

This research scholarship is open to students meeting the following criteria: 1) Nurse anesthesia student in good academic standing, 2) Member of the AANA. The Dean Hayden Student Research Scholarship is awarded up to $5,000. Criteria for Selection: 1) Nurse anesthesia student in good academic standing 2) Member of the AANA 3) Program Administrator or Research Advisor’s letter of support 4) Anticipated value of your research findings for nurse anesthetists The above criteria should be addressed by submitting: 1) Completed abstract 2) Anticipated value of your research findings for nurse anesthetists 3) Copy of institutional investigation committee/review board approval or exemption 4) Program Administrator or Research Advisor’s letter of support 5) Budget with justifications for expenses Please check the website for more information.

Frank Blanchard Scholarships

To provide financial assistance to members of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists who are residents of New Hampshire or pursuing further education at a program in designated states. Amount Awarded: $1000 Number Awarded: 2 each year. Duration: 1 academic year. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the association who are either 1) residents of New Hampshire, or 2) attending a nurse anesthesia program in CT, ME, MA, NH, NY, RI, or VT. Students in nurse anesthesia education programs must hold a current license as a registered nurse and a bachelor of science in nursing or another appropriate baccalaureate degree from an approved nursing program. Selection is based on academic achievement, participation in student organizations, and involvement in school and community activities. Additional Information: Funding for this program is provided by the New Hampshire Association of Nurse Anesthetists. The application fee is $25.

Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship

Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship Annual Application Deadline: January 29 Eligibility: Applicants must be 17 or over with a 3.0+ GPA, and enrolled or accepted to a nursing or healthcare-related program. Both graduate and undergraduate students welcome to apply. Must submit a 600-1000 word essay. Healthcare Leaders Scholarship

IMPORTANT DATES Applications Accepted: February 10, 2017 - January 29, 2018 Final Award Selection: March 15, 2018 Scholarship Awarded: Spring Quarter 2018 REQUIREMENTS The Healthcare Leaders Scholarship is offered to students entering or currently pursuing an educational program related to nursing or medicine. Applicant must be a US citizen, at least 17 years of age, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. All applicants must submit a 600 to 1,000-word essay explaining what they hope to accomplish during their career in the medical field and how the scholarship would fulfill those goals. Recommended topics are included in the Personal Essay section. All applications must be received by January 29th, 2018. Finalists will be notified in February and must provide proof of enrollment and GPA (letters of acceptance, transcripts, etc.) before the scholarship recipient is selected. SELECTION Applications will be reviewed by a panel. The winner will be selected based on the criteria set forth in the requirements section of this document. Once the winner is decided and notified of the award, he/she will receive a mailed 1099-MISC tax form and the check will be delivered to their address. The winner of the scholarship award will be fully responsible for the taxes incurred from receiving the award.
