Science Technologies Scholarships

Here are some of the Science Technologies scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

AFCEA Young Entrepreneur Scholarship

Scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to students currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the hard science or technology disciplines directly related to the mission of AFCEA while employed by a small business. Applicants must be a young professional (age 40 or under) with demonstrated entrepreneurial talents or accomplishments. Undergraduate candidates must be at least second-year students attending an accredited college or university in the United States. Graduate students must have completed at least two postgraduate-level classes prior to the deadline date. The scholarship is intended for students attending school on a part-time basis, whether at a two-year community college or accredited university institution. Part-time status will be defined as enrollment in at least two classes (semester-equivalent) with a declared major in a science or technology degree program or a declared major in a business field with a science or technology minor. Student enrolled in on-line or distance-learning programs will be eligible, as long as all other criteria are met. Eligible students must also be currently employed (see above). Eligibility: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, attending an accredited college or university in the United States as either a traditional or distance-learning student, and working toward a degree in the following C4I-related fields of electrical, computer, chemical, systems or communications engineering; computer science; physics; mathematics; technology management; computer information systems; management information systems or related fields. Business majors with a minor in science or technology are also eligible. An overall GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale or better is required. Undergraduate applications will be accepted from sophomore, junior and senior students - minimum second-year students please. Graduate applications will be accepted from students who have completed at least two postgraduate-level courses and are enrolled in an eligible degree-granting master's degree program. Important: PLEASE NOTE: At least two letters of recommendation will be required as follows: • One letter must be from a faculty member in your chosen major having personal knowledge of your degree program, achievements and potential. • One letter must be from current small business employer or relevant current public service agency. General John A. Wickham Undergraduate Scholarship

Eligibility: NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. Scholarships of varying amounts will be awarded to students studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) majors or related fields. Students must be attending full-time in an eligible undergraduate/graduate degree program with a GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Qualifying STEM Majors include: electrical, computer, chemical, systems, or aerospace engineering; computer science; computer information systems; technology management; management information systems; physics; mathematics; bioinformatics; or other majors related to the mission of AFCEA. Important: In addition to the online application, other required documents include: current transcript issued by the school Registrar's Office and at least two letters of recommendation from relevant faculty. Instructions for electronic submission of the recommendation letters will be provided to the endorsers as part of the on-line application process - please do not mail separately. CSC Defense Graduate Scholarship

Eligibility: NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. Students must be attending full-time in an eligible graduate degree program with a GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Qualifying STEM Majors include: electrical, computer, chemical, systems, or aerospace engineering; computer science; computer information systems; technology management; management information systems; physics; mathematics; bioinformatics; or other majors related to the mission of AFCEA. LedsMaster Scholarship

LedsMaster’s Essay scholarship provides opportunity for college students to think of the ways for saving energy. College students studying Engineering, Earth & Environment, or Science related discipline are welcome to join. Energy crisis is affecting us now. To promote sustainable development, using LED lights in different sectors help reduce power consumption and carbon dioxide emission. Apart from lighting, there are tons of innovative ways to relieve the burden of using fossil fuels.

Hans P. Loewen Scholarship

The Hans P. Loewen Scholarship is awarded to a graduating high-school senior, a college freshman or sophomore who has enrolled full-time, in college courses and is pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM). ANS will present one annual award of $2000. The scholarship is limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled in an ABET accredited U.S. University. Applicants for the Hans Loewen scholarship must submit an essay describing his/her leadership qualities and in particular how he/she helps others meet their goals. Applicants must be ANS National Student Members unless they are incoming freshmen. Recipients must be ANS National Student Members prior to the final disbursement of funds. Incoming freshmen selected to receive the award must become ANS National Student Members once they begin their undergraduate studies and they must notify ANS Headquaters that they have joined the Society. Once Headquarters verifies these awardees have joined the Society, they will be sent the award funds.

The Kent Hamlin Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship focuses on two-year associate degree candidates who are participating in the U.S. nuclear power industry's Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Program (NUCP) and who demonstrate interest in and commitment to a career in the industry. Two $1,000 scholarships are to be awarded. The ANS Kent Hamlin Memorial Scholarship Application Form for the next school term is now online.

ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarship

ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarships are awarded to graduating high-school seniors who have enrolled, full-time, in college courses and are pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering or have the intent to pursue a degree in nuclear engineering. ANS will give a maximum of four Incoming Freshman Scholarships annually. Each award is $1000. The Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant's high school academic achievement, freshman college courses enrolled in, quality and content of 500-word essay, letters of recommendation by counselors and/or teachers, and other information. The scholarship award is sent in September to the recipient upon verification (a copy of the paid fee receipt) of enrollment in an accredited university or college.

Angelo F. Bisesti Scholarship

Undergraduate scholarship for student who have completed two or more years in a course of study leading to a degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field. The eligibility requirements are as follows:  You must be an ANS student member (U.S. or non-U.S. citizen) attending a qualified university in the United States.  Completed application with a grade transcript, and three confidential reference forms must be received by February 1. If you feel that you qualify, please fill out the application and mail to the Scholarship Coordinator. The address is found on the application. Joseph R. Dietrich Scholarship

Individual undergraduate scholarship for student who have completed two or more years in a course of study leading to a degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field. The eligibility requirements are as follows:  You must be an ANS student member (U.S. or non-U.S. citizen) attending a qualified university in the United States.  Completed application with a grade transcript, and three confidential reference forms must be received by February 1. Raymond DiSalvo Scholarship

Undergraduate scholarship for student who have completed two or more years in a course of study leading to a degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field.
