Science Scholarships

Funded by U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and provided to American Indian/Alaska Native candidates pursuing a bachelors degree in engineering or science, specifically related to water resources or an environmentally related discipline.

Scholars will be selected on the basis of scholastic achievement and must meet the following guidelines: * Be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident and a resident of the State of Connecticut * Be in the senior year at a Connecticut high school at the time of application * Attend an accredited college or university within the State of Connecticut on a full-time basis * Be enrolled in an eligible academic program * Maintain a B average or 3.0 GPA throughout high school and college * Be in the top 20% of his or her graduating class and have scored at least 1000 combined in the Scholastic Aptitude Tests * Must work within the State of Connecticut for two years following graduation Service Obligation Following Graduation: Scholars must begin employment in the State of Connecticut within 12 months after receiving their associate's or bachelor's degrees. Automatic extensions for commencement of the employment requirement of up to four years will be granted for those who choose to immediately pursue an advanced degree in the fields of science and technology on a full-time basis. The Connecticut work requirement will be met if the Scholar meets at least one of the following within five years of graduation: * Is continuously employed with no breaks in service for 24 months * Completes a total of 3,900 hours of work during a period of time not less than two years nor more than five years immediately following completion of post-secondary education

AFCEA DC awards multiple single-year standard scholarships in the amount of $4,000 each, and one single-year scholarship in the amount of $8,000 to Metro-area high school seniors in the Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Maryland area. Second-year students in area community colleges who are entering a four-year college may apply for one-time scholarships of $2,000. Scholarship awards are provided to qualified students pursuing degrees in the C4I-related fields of engineering (electrical, computer, chemical, aerospace or systems); electronics; mathematics; computer science; physics; science education; mathematics education; technology management; or management information systems.

The Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR) program has been providing undergraduate and graduate students with valuable educational experiences for more than 80 years. By encouraging close working relationships between students and faculty, the program promotes scientific excellence and achievement through hands-on learning.The program awards grants of up to $1,000 to students from all areas of the sciences and engineering. Designated funds from the National Academy of Sciences allow for grants of up to $5,000 for astronomy research and $2,500 for vision related research. Students use the funding to pay for travel expenses to and from a research site, or for purchase of non-standard laboratory equipment necessary to complete a specific research project.While membership in Sigma Xi is not a requirement for applying for funding from the Grants-in-Aid of Research program, approximately 75% of funds are restricted for use by dues paying student members of Sigma Xi or students whose project advisor is a dues paying member of Sigma Xi. Students from any country are eligible to receive funding. Application Deadlines: March 15 and October 15 annually.

R&D Systems is proud to support education in science with a scholarship program established to students who are pursuing a degree in a science related field. The R&D Systems Scholarship Program will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in a science related field. A $1500 (or international currency equivalent) scholarship will be awarded twice a year for one student in the fall semester and one student in the spring semester.
