Physical Science Scholarships

Here are some of the Physical Science scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

AFCEA Military Personnel Scholarships

Merit-based scholarships of varying amounts will be awarded to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services, to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel), and to disabled veterans who are currently enrolled part time or full time in an eligible degree program at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the U.S. Eligible candidates must be at least second-year college students enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors in four-year institutions at the time of application. All candidates must provide a copy of Certificate of Service, Discharge Form DD214, copy of latest performance review or other verification of service. (Please black out your Social Security Number when submitting.) Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with a major U.S. institution are eligible. Eligibility: Applicants must be: 1. U.S. citizen 2. Currently enrolled and attending either a two-year or four-year accredited college or university in the United States 3. An undergraduate student enrolled at the time of application 4. Enrolled part time or full time in an eligible degree program An overall 3.0 GPA is required. Candidates must be majoring in the following or C4I-related fields of electrical, aerospace, systems or computer engineering; computer engineering technology; computer network systems; information systems security; computer information systems; information systems management; technology management; electronics engineering technology; computer science; physics; or mathematics. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or national security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible. Important: PLEASE NOTE: At least two letters of recommendation will be required from field-of-study professors. If that is not possible, we will accept recommendations from commanding officers/employers in the related field of study. AFCEA Young Entrepreneur Scholarship

Scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to students currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the hard science or technology disciplines directly related to the mission of AFCEA while employed by a small business. Applicants must be a young professional (age 40 or under) with demonstrated entrepreneurial talents or accomplishments. Undergraduate candidates must be at least second-year students attending an accredited college or university in the United States. Graduate students must have completed at least two postgraduate-level classes prior to the deadline date. The scholarship is intended for students attending school on a part-time basis, whether at a two-year community college or accredited university institution. Part-time status will be defined as enrollment in at least two classes (semester-equivalent) with a declared major in a science or technology degree program or a declared major in a business field with a science or technology minor. Student enrolled in on-line or distance-learning programs will be eligible, as long as all other criteria are met. Eligible students must also be currently employed (see above). Eligibility: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, attending an accredited college or university in the United States as either a traditional or distance-learning student, and working toward a degree in the following C4I-related fields of electrical, computer, chemical, systems or communications engineering; computer science; physics; mathematics; technology management; computer information systems; management information systems or related fields. Business majors with a minor in science or technology are also eligible. An overall GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale or better is required. Undergraduate applications will be accepted from sophomore, junior and senior students - minimum second-year students please. Graduate applications will be accepted from students who have completed at least two postgraduate-level courses and are enrolled in an eligible degree-granting master's degree program. General John A. Wickham Undergraduate Scholarship

Eligibility: NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. Scholarships of varying amounts will be awarded to students studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) majors or related fields. Students must be attending full-time in an eligible undergraduate/graduate degree program with a GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Qualifying STEM Majors include: electrical, computer, chemical, systems, or aerospace engineering; computer science; computer information systems; technology management; management information systems; physics; mathematics; bioinformatics; or other majors related to the mission of AFCEA. Important: In addition to the online application, other required documents include: current transcript issued by the school Registrar's Office and at least two letters of recommendation from relevant faculty. CSC Defense Graduate Scholarship

EAAT Hippotherapy Scholarship

$10,000 two-year scholarship Ideal candidates are a current member of AQHA pursuing a career in the field of hippotherapy through physical therapy, occupational therapy and or speech language pathology. Related college majors may include, but are not limited to, communication disorders, sports and exercise science or kinesiology. Members should apply while enrolled as a sophomore at an accredited university or has been accepted to a related graduate school program. Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average. Funding for this scholarship will be applied to the junior and senior year of a four-year undergraduate degree program or a two-year graduate degree program as specified above.

LedsMaster Scholarship

LedsMaster’s Essay scholarship provides opportunity for college students to think of the ways for saving energy. College students studying Engineering, Earth & Environment, or Science related discipline are welcome to join. Energy crisis is affecting us now. To promote sustainable development, using LED lights in different sectors help reduce power consumption and carbon dioxide emission. Apart from lighting, there are tons of innovative ways to relieve the burden of using fossil fuels.

Joe Beirne Scholarship

This program is for high school seniors, undergraduate or graduate students pursuing careers in special education, labor studies, or rehabilitation. Applicants must be dependents of a current or retired member of the Communications Workers of America #6186. Selection is based on financial need and academic achievement.

Accelerator Applications Division Scholarship

Academic Level: Undergraduate - Junior Academic/Research Discipline: Physics, Engineering, or Materials Science Monetary Award $1000 to be awarded for Junior year $1000 to be given for Senior year Total award is $2000 over a two-year period This is a one-year, one-time award and non-renewable. The Accelerator Applications Division Honors & Awards Committee will select the recipient. The proposed award criteria are: Academic performance Faculty recommendations Letters of recommendation from two faculty members Professional accomplishments and career objectives A summary of accomplishments that includes honors, awards, professional work activities, and special interest activities A description of long-term and short-term professional objectives. Research interests aligned with the Division's topical areas will be given greater weight. Additional considerations will be given to those candidates who: Demonstrate financial need Are members of an under-represented class (female/minority) Have a record of service to ANS

ANS Washington, DC Section Undergraduate Scholarship

To be eligible to receive the Washington, DC Section Scholarship, a student must meet all of the following criteria: Must have completed at least two full years of undergraduate study at the time the scholarship is awarded. Must be pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering, health physics, or nuclear-related studies. A minor in nuclear engineering or health physics may be considered as meeting this requirement. Must have a home (permanent) address within 100 miles of Washington, DC. This will be determined using a mapping program, such as Mapquest, with the White House as the "origin."

STEM Scholarships

The NSHSS Foundation provides STEM scholarships for underrepresented groups in order to help reduce financial barriers for those with academic and leadership potential and the desire to pursue STEM careers. We recognize that in order to increase diversity in the technology workforce, we must increase diversity in undergraduates.
