Letourneau Award

The American College of Legal Medicine has an annual Student Writing Competition in which $1,000 cash awards are made for the outstanding original paper on Legal Medicine. All papers submitted will receive consideration for publication in the Journal of Legal Medicine or other medical legal publications. Applicant Criteria 1. Authors must be currently enrolled in an accredited law, medical, podiatry, nursing, dental school, or program of health science or health care administration school in the United States or Canada. 2. No paper which has been previously published in any form will be considered. What is Legal Medicine Legal medicine is the professional and academic discipline which concerns itself with legal aspects of medical science, medical practice and other health care delivery problems. Practitioners of the specialty have training, knowledge and expertise sufficient to address the scope of the specialty from a scholarly, scientific (research) and practical perspective.

Nursing Research Fellowship

Requirements: Briefly describe, in abstract form, the question that you propose to study, its association to Myasthenia Gravis or related neuromuscular conditions, and how you still approach the project. Applicants and sponsoring institutions must comply with policies governing the protection of human subjects, the humane care of laboratory animals, and the inclusion of minorities in study populations.

Eight and Forty Nursing Scholarships

General Requirements: 1. Registered Nurses who are graduates of an accredited school of nursing, or will be by deadline of application. 2. Registered Nurses with a desire to continue their studies in the field of Lung and Respiratory disease nursing either on a part-time or a full-time basis. 3. Evidence of acceptance by an accredited school of nursing which will enable an applicant to fulfill the purpose for which the Scholarship was established. 4. Three (3) letters of reference. 5. After receiving a scholarship, submit a letter of acceptance from your chosen school and a copy of your class registration. 6. A current address is essential. Personal Qualifications: - Qualities of leadership - United States Citizen - Freedom to pursue full-time employment

Nurses' Educational Fund Award

To qualify for an NEF award, you must be: - a registered nurse; - a member of a national, professional nursing association; - enrolled in or applying to a professionally NLNAC or CCNE accredited masters program in nursing, or at the doctoral level, in nursing or a nursing-related program; - a full-time student at the masters degree level; full- or part-time at the doctoral level; - a U.S. citizen or have declared official intention of becoming one. - GRE or MAT scores are required. NEF considers academic excellence the first criteria for its awards; evidence of current and future service to the profession is also highly important.

Scholarships for Emigres in the Health Professions

This program will provide scholarships to emigres from the former Soviet Union to train in medicine, dentistry, dental hygiene, nursing, pharmacy, occupational and physical therapy, and physician assistant programs. Applicants must be female and live within a 50-mile radius of New York City. Grants are awarded based on financial need and academic merit.

Friends of Rutland Heights Hospital Scholarship

For students enrolled in a course of study leading to certification and employment in direct patient care, preferably in the Worcester area.

Leicester Samaritan Nursing Association Schp

For residents of Leicester to pursue full or part-time studies in a health-related field.

Nadona/LTC Upward Bound Scholarship

To be eligible, the candidate must be a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse, or a certified nursing assistant (evidence of licensure or certification must accompany the application) and be currently accepted or enrolled in 1 of the following programs: 1) an L.P.N. program; 2) an accredited R.N. program or undergraduate health care management program; 3) a baccalaureate or master's degree program in nursing or gerontology; 4) an undergraduate or graduate program in health care management. Candidates must be currently employed in long-term (for at least 1 year) and plan to remain employed in that field for at least 2 years after graduation. They must be members of National Associaton of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care (NADONA/LTC) or sponsored by a member.

North Carolina League for Nursing Academic Scholarship Fund

Description: Provides scholarships to graduate students who are pursuing either a master's degree in nursing or a doctoral degree in nursing or a related discipline. Minimum Eligibility: Be a legal resident of North Carolina Have completed a minimum of six (6) semester hours of course work in their graduate program of study by the application deadline (courses in progress DO NOT meet this requirement) Be granted unconditional admission to a master’s degree program in nursing or a doctoral degree program in nursing or a related discipline and be classified as a graduate degree student by the college or university* *Master's program must be located in North Carolina; doctoral program may be outside of North Carolina

Hall-Wesleyan Memorial Scholarship Fund

Fund Purpose: Scholarships to students attending IWU majoring in religion and philosophy and intending to serve as either a pastor or missionary, nursing, or education, as determined by IWU. Fund Story: The Hall- Wesleyan Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by Luella Hall in 1994 in memory of Reverend W.F. Hall, Mary B. Howlett Hall and Delia Howlett. This scholarship was created to benefit IWU students majoring in Religion and Philosophy (intending to serve as a pastor or missionary), Nursing or Education. The fund is now advised by Indiana Wesleyan University.
