Troy Schmitt Memorial Scholarship

Established in Troy Schmitt’s memory by his wife, Ann and their five children, Sam, Alex, Henry, Eli and AnnamarieEligibility: A graduating senior from Marshfield High School who best meets these criteria:1. Illustrates a strong work ethic with an attention to detail.Successfully engages in rigorous coursework like AdvancedPlacement, and is a well balanced student who is professional.2. Dedicated to the mission of service, via student council,and/or church, and/or community service.3. Possesses a sense of humor and a flair for making work fun.Respectful of teachers and his/her peers.4. May have an interest in majoring in education and/orgovernment.5. May have need due to financial and/or personal challenges.Application: Available in the Guidance Office at MHS.

Swanson Scholarship

Gertrude Swanson was a beloved English teacher at MarshfieldHigh School who established this fund as a bequest.Eligibility: A graduating senior of Marshfield High School expressing clear intentions of entering the field of education.

Susan K. & Douglas E. Dodge Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:•Applicant must be a graduating senior of Reed City or Shepherd Community Schools. •Demonstrate academic ability with a minimum 3.25 GPA.•Demonstrate positive attitude toward school and community.•Demonstrate strong community involvement and volunteerism.•Have an interest in pursuing a career in public service (i.e. careers in the fields of education, health care, social services, ministry or political science)

Johnnie Lee Stewart Marks Scholarship Endowment

Worthy men and women who are enrolled in the School of Education at Campbell University. Preference may be given to those students preparing to work with early childhood students.

Scholarships for Teachers

Application Requirements/Description:AASA award and scholarship programs recognize excellence and profile best practices in public education and honor leaders from inside and outside the field whose contributions have made a significant impact on the lives and learning of children.AASA partners with leading corporations with an interest in public education on selected programs and encourages interested organizations to join with us to initiate and sustain new programs honoring excellence in public education.

Roothbert Fund Scholarships and Grants

Eligibility: Roothbert Fund scholarships are open to all in the United States regardless of sex, age, color, nationality or religious background. While the Fund does not emphasize any particular form of religious practice or worship, it seeks to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values. The Fund has awarded grants to persons entering a wide range of careers. However, preference will be given to those who can satisfy high scholastic requirements and are considering careers in education. For more information, applicants should read with care the Founders Prologue in the History and Mission of the Fund.

NEA-Retired Jack Kinnaman Scholarship

Beneficiary: College and University Students.Grant Type: Resources and EquipmentCreated in memory of an NEA-Retired Vice President and Advisory Council member, this NEA Retired Program award offers support for NEA Student members who need help completing their degree in education by offsetting a portion of their tuition. # Student must be a member of the NEA Student Program. Questions about the Student program may be directed to the Student Program at (202) 822-7132.# List the NEA Student Program activities in which you participate at the local, state, and national level (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit separately).# Submit a brief paragraph demonstrating financial need and how this scholarship will help complete one’s degree in education (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit separately).# Submit an essay of up to 200 words describing their NEA Student Program activities on the local, state and/or national level (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit separately).# Submit a copy of the most recent transcript with evidence of carrying a 2.5 or better grade point average (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit separately or have your school submit it separately).# Complete the application and submit it with two letters of recommendations: one from a faculty member or NEA Student Program advisor and one from a non-relative (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit this separately or have the letters of recommendation mailed separately by the faculty member, program advisor, or non-relative).

Josephine Nipper Memorial Scholarship

Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a Native American who is a first-generation college student, who is studying education or nursing, and who has a strong desire to give back to Native communities

Brown Foundation Scholarship Program for Educational Equality and Excellence

Applicants must meet the following criteria: * Recipients must be enrolled at least half-time as defined by the higher education institution of attendance. * Applicant must be enrolled at an institution of higher education with an accredited teacher education program. * Applicant must have been admitted to a teacher education program. * Applicant must have a grade point average at 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale or equivalent (i.e. 4.0 on a 5.0 scale). * Applicant must submit two references; one from a faculty member or other college/university official and one from a person familiar with the applicant's skills and abilities who is not a family member. Recommendations should take into account leadership, attitude, maturity, initiative, persistence, reliability, and communication skills. Indicate how many years known.
