Aviation Scholarships

Here are some of the Aviation scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship

The Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee of the National Business Aviation Association is dedicated to promoting education as a means for individuals to increase the professionalism of their positions. To further this objective, NBAA offers a Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship in conjunction with five corporate sponsors: Exxon Company and the Avitats, Flight Support, Million Air, Air Routing and Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc.

Hooley Scholarship

Scholarship funds to cover the costs of one or more aviation students' flying, tuition, room, and board. As a condition of the scholarship award, the recipient must work as a paid summer intern at the EAA Aviation Center in Oshkosh and meet other criteria regarding academic excellence and skill level.

Clay Lacy Professional Pilot Scholarship

This scholarship provides highly qualified potential flight students with financial need the opportunity to attend a professional pilot program and participate in flight by living on the EAA Air Academy campus. A possible four scholarships are awarded of up to $12,500 each.

H.P. “Bud” Milligan Aviation Scholarship

This scholarship is a $1,000 renewable scholarship presented to students enrolled in an accredited aviation program at a college, technical school, or aviation academy. Financial need is not a requirement for this award.

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY: Pursuing a degree in aviation through the Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology. Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, minimum ACT of 14 or minimum SAT of 660 out of 1600 required.AWARD: Two scholarships at $5,000; three scholarships at $2,500 and five scholarships at $1,000, each in the form of tuition reduction, non-renewable.

Keith Newstrom Memorial Aviation Scholarship

Awards Given: 1 Student Type: All Students Area: Greater Itasca County Area (Priority may be given to the Grand Rapids Area.) Renewable: No Criteria: The ideal candidate for this scholarship is interested in pursuing a career in aviation. This scholarship may be used for aviation related education or flight hours. Recipients are limited to one, $2,500 scholarship and must attend an approved and accredited program.

Joshua Esch Mitchell Aviation Scholarship

Student is a United States citizen, enrolled full or part-time at a college or university in the United States providing an accredited flight science curriculum. Applicants must be second year students or above with a minimum 2.75 GPA pursuing studies in the field of professional pilot with an emphasis in general aviation, Aviation Management, or Aviation Safety. A valid pilot’s certificate (not to include a Student Certificate) is required. A letter of recommendation from a professional in the aviation field is required.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Majors Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:•Must be of Hispanic background•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico•Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year•Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming academic year•Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale•Must demonstrate financial need•Must be studying a major that falls under the STEM Majors Application

Doug Yost Memorial Aerobatic Scholarship Grant

The purpose of this merit scholarship is to promote air safety through aerobatics training. Each recipient of this scholarship will receive a cash payment of $1,500, in the form of a check made payable to the aerobatic school where the recipient will be training. Training must be conducted at a facility approved by the Chapter 78 Scholarship committee and training must be completed within a 12 month period from receiving the grant. A list of approved facilities can be provided to the successful applicant.The successful scholarship applicant must be well-rounded, involved in school and community activities as well as in aviation. The applicant's academic record should demonstrate that they could successfully complete the educational portion of aerobatic training. Flight instructor comment reports or letters of recommendation must indicate that the successful applicant has the basic flying skills and potential to benefit from this type of training.Qualifications: The applicant must be a Junior or Senior in College or other post-secondary schools, hold a private pilot certificate, and have a current FAA medical certificate.

IAC Chapter 34 Aerobatic Scholarship

The IAC34 Aerobatic Scholarship will be awarded to help advance the recipient's piloting skills by making payment toward training costs in an approved Beginning Aerobatic Course.The scholarship is funded entirely through an annual raffle held by the club. The Award amount will be not less than $500 and not more than $1000. The applicant will complete and submit an application form. A letter of recommendation and an essay will accompany theapplication. The essay should include some of the following elements: * The applicant's aviation related activities/clubs. * The applicant's interest in aerobatics. * The applicant's past and/or current training in aviation. * A list of any pilot license or aviation awards already received.APPLICATION SUBMISSIONApplication, letter of recommendation and essay should be sent by traceable mail to: IAC34 Scholarship Committee 7628 Plainfield Rd. Regeneron Science Talent Search

Regeneron STS is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science research competition for high school students. Started in 1942 as the Westinghouse Science Talent Search, Regeneron STS recognizes and empowers our nation’s most promising young scientists who are developing ideas that could solve society’s most urgent challenges. Each year, nearly 2,000 students enter the Regeneron STS, submitting original research in critically important scientific fields of study. Unique among high school competitions, the Regeneron STS focuses on identifying, inspiring, and engaging the nation’s most promising future leaders in STEM. Eligibility: High school seniors living in the United States, and US citizens living abroad, who have completed independent research projects are encouraged to apply online for the chance to win up to $250,000! Amelia Earhart Fellowship Program

Eligibility: Women of any nationality are eligible. Defense-related and post-doctoral research programs are not eligible. Members and employees of Zonta International or the Zonta International Foundation are also not eligible. To apply, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants: Fellowship application Zonta Club Members Login or register. Educational Institutions: Fellowship Poster Fellowship Description Be registered in an accredited Ph.D./doctoral program in a qualifying area of science or engineering closely related to advanced studies in aerospace-related science or aerospace-related engineering. A letter of acceptance or verification of enrollment must be submitted with the application. Demonstrate a superior academic record at a recognized university or college with accredited courses in aerospace-related studies as verified by transcripts and recommendations. Provide evidence of a well-defined research program in aerospace-related science or aerospace-related engineering as described in the application essay, research and publications. Clearly demonstrate the relationship of the research to aerospace and furnish verification of her research program through at least one of the reference letters required with the application [i.e. research supervisor or advisor must be one of the referees]. Applicant must be registered in a Ph.D./doctorate program by the time the Fellowship is awarded. Award: The Fellowship of US$6,000 may be used at any university or college offering accredited post-graduate courses and degrees. Students must be registered in a Ph.D./doctoral program when funds are received. Current fellows may apply to renew the Fellowship for a second year and will undergo the same application and evaluation procedures as first-time applicants.
