J. K. Perry Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Students studying an agriculturally related field at a four-year college or university who will be juniors or seniors and have at least a "C" average during their freshman and sophomore years. (Applicants should be sophomores or juniors seeking funding for their junior or senior year.)

Calavo Scholarship

College Major/Area of Study: Agriculture Student Profile: Student must have a good academic record, show school and community participation and have demonstrated interest in agriculture. May reapply in successive years.

Rolland Starn Scholarship

Eligibility: • Must be enrolled in the agricultural program at CSU Stanislaus GPA: 3.00

San Joaquin Stanislaus Cattleman

Eligibility: • Part-time or full-time enrollment• Agricultural Studies major with a career goal in agriculture• Preference given to Ag Studies students with interest/background in beef industry GPA: 3.00

Yosemite Farm Credit Scholarship

Eligibility: • Participation in Agricultural Studies Program• Financial need considered (apply and qualify for financial aid using the FAFSA form before March 2) GPA: 3.00

Robert Cardoza Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: • Must be transfer student from Modesto Junior College GPA: 2.00 Major in Business Administration and/or Agriculture

$1000 Undergraduate - Companion Animal Interest Scholarship

Are you interested in pursuing a career in the pet industry? Do you want to work in the field of animal health and nutrition? The companion animal (pet) industry is expanding rapidly all around the world. Career opportunities in animal health, animal nutrition, marketing, publishing, and pet food manufacturing are increasing every year. Oxbow’s Undergraduate Scholarship is for students currently enrolled in a college or university who have demonstrated a career interest in companion animals. Scholarships are paid directly to the school in September. To Qualify: • Complete the application available online at www.oxbowanimalhealth.com • Submit a resume describing activities and job history • Provide two letters of reference • Provide proof of full-time enrollment in a college or university • Completed a minimum of 12 credit hours • Provide a transcript copy and current GPA • Submit a 300-500 word essay explaining why you want to pursue a career in the companion animal industry

California Farm Bureau Scholarship

The California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation was organized to give aid to students with a desire to pursue a career in the agricultural industry. The scholarships are awarded annually based upon academic achievement, career goals, extracurricular activities, determination, leadership skills, and a commitment to study agriculture. Who is eligible? Any student entering or attending a four-year accredited college or university in California and pursuing a career in the agricultural industry. Students entering or attending a junior college are not eligible. Students must be a resident of the State of California. How many scholarships are given, and in what amount? Each year, the Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors determine the award amounts depending on the funds available. In recent years, the range has been $2,000 to $2,750 , for 30 or more recipients each year. In addition to the regular scholarship recipients, four special awards are given: the Frederick J. Heringer Honorary Award, the Howard P. Wackman II Memorial Scholarship, the John H. Wiechman Memorial Scholarship and the Carolyn S. Richardson Memorial Scholarship. Any individuals fitting the criteria for these awards will be selected by the Foundation board. No additional application information is needed. Requirements Applications are accepted each year.

W.D. Farr Scholarship

The National Cattlemen’s Foundation is honoring the successful career of the late W.D. Farr of Greeley, Colorado through two $12,000 graduate scholarships bearing his name. We lost a true industry leader and friend with W.D.'s passing on August 13, 2007, at the age of 97. Farr, a third generation Coloradan, pioneer rancher, statesman and banker is known for his extraordinary vision. His dedication to improving agriculture, livestock and water development has resulted in significant changes in farming methods that have influenced the practices of ranchers and farmers throughout the nation. Cover Letter Curriculum Vitae – a summary of your educational and academic background, resume Description of applicant’s professional goals and leadership experience Statement of belief in the industry Review of applicant’s graduate research Three letters of recommendation (at least one letter must be from a person within the applicant’s department, college or university)

CME Beef Industry Scholarship

Conditions of Eligibility Applicants must be a graduating high school senior or full-time undergraduate student enrolled at a two or four-year institution for the school year. Graduating high school seniors who have not been accepted to a two or four-year institution must list the school in which the student plans to attend, or has applied to, on the Cover Page. Multiple schools may be listed. Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to a career in the beef industry through classes, internships or life experiences. Previous scholarship winners are eligible to apply in subsequent years. Judging Process The National Cattlemen’s Foundation will administer the program and choose a panel of judges to read the essays and select the winners. Essays will be judged on the basis of originality, grammar, clarity of expression, accuracy, relevance of topic and the solutions offered. Judges decisions are final. The National Cattlemen’s Foundation reserve the right to publish all or any or parts of the essays submitted. The following percentages of the total score will be used to evaluate application: Essay – 70% Letter of intent – 20% References – 10% Application Deadline: Check back for the 2016 application date and application (usually in the fall) Please check website for application requirements.

The William J. Collins Scholarship

St. Paul- based AgriBank, one of the largest banks within the national Farm Credit System, awards The William J. Collins Scholarship each year to honor the service of a dedicated former employee. This scholarship is awarded to children of Farm Credit employees in the AgriBank District (Board of Directors Excluded) who are graduating high school seniors planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in an agriculture-related program. Each year, two $2,000 academic tuition/fees scholarships are awarded. The scholarships also provide sponsorship for AFA Leaders Conference the Fall of the freshman year of college, a $1,000 value. To be considered for this award, applicants must provide three letters of reference, under same or separate cover, that recognize the applicant’s personal, academic or leadership character. Stanley H. Durwood Foundation AFA Leader and Academic Scholarships

The Stanley H. Durwood Foundation, named after the late Founder of AMC Theaters and active philanthropist, provides five AFA Leader and Academic Scholarships to students identified and selected by AFA. The Trustees of the Foundation believe in continuing to provide access to education and are assisting in this effort by providing these five scholarships to deserving AFA delegates. These scholarships are only available for graduating high school seniors. Eligibility Requirements All scholarships include leader development award to attend the AFA Leaders Conference (November of scholarship year in Kansas City, Mo.), of which full attendance is required to receive the full academic scholarship. (Dates of AFA Leaders Conference - see website) Academic scholarship may be used for tuition and fees only. This may include books if paid for through a university charge account. Students must be enrolling in an agriculture-related, four-year degree program. Students must be a citizen of the United States of America to be eligible for AFA scholarship awards. International students studying in the United States are not eligible Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of career vision and goal, leader and community involvement, and financial need. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
