Aerospace Scholarships

The Asian Pacific Community Fund partners with Verizon to financially assist students in their pursuit of higher education as they face the challenge of significantly rising costs of obtaining a college degree. These awards will support those who excel academically, are leaders amongst their peers and are making a positive impact in their communities. Eligibility: Students who are residents of California, Oregon or Washington OR students attending college in one of those states High School Senior who plan to enroll as a 1st year college student in a U.S. accredited 4-year college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking student majoring in math, engineering, or a science (Please check website for complete listing of majors eligible for this scholarship) Have a minimum cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.0

Scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to full-time students pursuing an undergraduate degree in an eligible major and currently enrolled in an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU) institution in the United States. Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with one of these institutions are eligible. Candidates must be at least second-year college students, enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors at the time of application. Scholarships of $3,000 will be awarded to full-time graduate students currently working toward a master's degree in an eligible major. Graduate students are not required to be enrolled in an HBCU institution. Distance-learning or online programs will not qualify. Eligibility: NOTE: Degree-seeking candidates must be U.S. citizens. Undergraduate students must be currently enrolled and attending either a two-year or four-year accredited HBCU institution in the United States. Students also may be enrolled in an accredited distance-learning or online degree program affiliated with one of these institutions. Candidates must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in an eligible major at accredited two- or four-year institutions in the United States. Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with a major U.S. institution are eligible. The AFCEA Disabled War Veterans Scholarships are funded by generous contributions from Microsoft employees with matching funds from Microsoft, the AFCEA Camp Pendleton Chapter, and the AFCEA Educational Foundation. Merit-based scholarships of varying amounts will be awarded to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services, to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel), and to disabled veterans who are currently enrolled part time or full time in an eligible degree program at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the U.S. Eligible candidates must be at least second-year college students enrolled full time as sophomores or juniors in four-year institutions at the time of application. All candidates must provide a copy of Certificate of Service, Discharge Form DD214, copy of latest performance review or other verification of service. The purpose of our scholarships is to encourage young women interested in a career in the aerospace field to pursue higher education degrees in engineering or science or math. We have four merit-based awards of $2000 that will be given to rising juniors and seniors in college.

The NSHSS Foundation provides STEM scholarships for underrepresented groups in order to help reduce financial barriers for those with academic and leadership potential and the desire to pursue STEM careers. We recognize that in order to increase diversity in the technology workforce, we must increase diversity in undergraduates. The Foundation awards scholarships to applicants who are pursuing a degree in, or closely related to, one of the following STEM disciplines: Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering Biosciences/Pre-med/health-related fields Chemical Engineering Chemistry Civil Engineering Cognitive, Neural, and Behavioral Sciences Computer and Computational Sciences, including Statistics and Accounting Electrical Engineering Geosciences Information Sciences Materials Science and Engineering Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering Nuclear Engineering Oceanography Operations Research Physics Teaching in STEM areas

American Airlines/Envoy will award one $5,000 scholarship to a student pursuing a degree in aeronautical, electrical, or mechanical engineering with a passion to work in the airline/aviation industry. Candidates will be evaluated on academic standing, personal accomplishments, teamwork, leadership skills, community service involvement, and future career aspirations. Requirements: Meet all WAI scholarship requirements and guidelines, GPA 3.0 or higher, enrolled in accredited U.S. engineering program through a college or university, U.S. citizen or permanent resident. American Airlines and Envoy Maintenance & Engineering divisions are vital to the companies' commitment to provide safe, dependable, and friendly air transportation to their customers. As such, they seek to attract top engineering talent who share their passion and interest in the aviation industry. Delta Air Lines will award a $5,000 scholarship to a student currently enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program in aerospace/aeronautical, electrical, or mechanical engineering. In addition to the scholarship, the recipient will receive a trip to the Annual International Women in Aviation Conference, including round trip airfare, hotel accommodations, and conference registration. Applicants must be full-time students at the junior or senior level with a minimum of two semesters with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens. In addition to all WAI requirements applicants must also include a detailed essay (500-1,000 words, typed and double spaced), which addresses the following topics: 1. Who or what inspired you to pursue a career in aerospace/aeronautical, electrical, or mechanical engineering? 2. What is or has been your greatest life challenge, and how has it enriched your and/or someone else's life? 3. If someone else was to describe your greatest strength, what would it be and why, and what do you consider to be your strongest characteristic and why? 4. What has been your most memorable academic experience and how did you handle this situation? 5. Why are you the most qualified candidate for the Delta Air Lines Engineering Scholarship? Applicants must be a member of Women in Aviation, International and may apply for no more than two scholarships. Internships are not included in the two per member scholarship limit.
