Adelante/Ford Motor Company Future Leaders Scholarship
Amount: $ 2,000
Criteria
•Must have completed at least 30 credit hours of college coursework prior to Fall
•Must be majoring in STEM Fields - Mathematics, Science, Engineering, and Technology (Computer Science and Computer Information Systems)
•Attended a San Antonio area high school ( 50 mile radius)
•Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
•Must be of Hispanic Descent
•Must have a 2.75 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale
•Maintain full-time enrollment status (12 hours) for the duration of the scholarship period
•Provide two letters of recommendation highlighting leadership potential
•Recipients will be invited to the Ford Blue Oval Scholars Program
Gilbert G. Pompa Memorial Endowed Scholarship (Pre-Law)
Amount: $ 1,000
Criteria
Must be enrolled at a accredited university or public / private college in the State of Texas
Completed 90 credit hours before the fall semester
All majors are eligible but students must be pursing a pre-law program and / or planning to attend law school
Have and maintain a 2.75 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Provide one letter of recommendation from an educator familiar with your academic career
Provide a resume of your community service activities
Must maintain full-time enrollment status (12 hours if applicable) for the duration of the scholarship
Preference will be given to female students of Hispanic descent
Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarships
The eligibility criteria to be considered for a Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship are as follows:
Students enrolled full-time as a high school senior, progressing normally toward graduation in the Spring/Summer, with plans to enter college no later than the Fall following graduation OR students enrolled full-time as a college freshman or sophomore, no older than 20 years of age and progressing normally toward a bachelor’s degree;
Scholarships from the Foundation shall be used only at an institution that normally maintains a regular faculty and curriculum, and normally has a regularly organized body of students in attendance at the place where the educational activities are carried on, and that is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as being accredited by recognized accrediting agencies;
Students seeking degrees through online or distance learning programs exclusively shall not be eligible for Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarships;*
A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 for graduating high school seniors;
A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 for college applicants;
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident;
All applicants must reside (permanent home address) in one of the following states and the District of Columbia: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Delaware and New Jersey.
Employees of Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible.
Online/distance learning courses are permitted when a part of the required curriculum taught in the campus environment and when such course is only available online or through distance learning.
Jimmy Rane Foundation scholars are students who exhibit academic excellence, leadership skills and community involvement as well as activities, awards and honors, and who have a demonstrated financial need in order to attend college. They must demonstrate their desire and ability to overcome barriers and to achieve their goals. Your application will be evaluated on your:
Future goals and plans to achieve them;
Successful preparation as a high school student to prepare and pursue a college education;
Self motivation in completing challenging coursework;
Demonstration of financial need.
Jay Pumphrey Animal Sciences Scholarship
$6,000 four-year scholarship
Ideal candidates are current AQHA or AQHYA members from Texas with a rural farming and or ranching background; has a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average, and who wishes to pursue a major in animal science or a large animal-related degree from Tarleton State University or Texas A&M University. Member must apply during their senior year of high school. Current or previous AQHF scholarship recipients are not eligible to receive this scholarship. Funding for this scholarship will be applied to a four-year undergraduate degree program as specified above.
Empowering Women In Law Scholarship
The Pearce Law Firm in Philadelphia is pleased to offer The Pearce Law Firm – Empowering Women In Law Scholarship. This scholarship opportunity is open to women nationwide who are currently attending a law school in the United States. This scholarship is intended to encourage & support outstanding achievement & leadership by example from women in the field of law.
This award will be presented to a current female law student for the following academic year in the amount of $2,000.00 & will be paid at the beginning of the fall semester (2015).
Requirements:
This scholarship is judged & awarded primarily on academic achievement, school & community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities & financial need.
The scholarship must be submitted, in full, by December 31, 2014. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
The applicant must be a current female law student.
Applicant will have successfully completed at least one semester of law school but will not yet have graduated by fall semester of 2015.
Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.
A transcript must be attached for application to be considered.
An unopened copy of transcripts, sent from the applicant’s most recent law school will be required from finalists before award is presented.
This scholarship is a one-time award worth $2,000.
Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit recommendation letters and/or resumes to substantiate their application.
The Texas CSA Scholarship
For residents of Texas
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree
3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours)
4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30)
5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours
6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application
7. Submit a completed online application and all of its components

Fred Dame Scholarship
This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major with first preference will be for students attending California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Purdue University, University of Houston, or University of South Carolina. Second preference will be for students attending Auburn University.
If there are not enough eligible students from any of these institutions, an eligible student from the NRAEF general pool will be selected.
Award amount: $2,500

National Academy Television Arts and Sciences, Lone Star Chapter Student Scholarship
The Lone Star EMMY Educational Foundation proudly offers the National Academy Television Arts and Sciences, Lone Star Chapter Student Scholarship for college students pursuing a career in the television industry. Lone Star EMMY Educational Foundation will award a scholarship of up to $10,000 to qualified student chosen by our Scholarship Committee. The Foundation will annually review the amount of the scholarships.
To be considered for a scholarship, a student must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Student must be in good standing (not on academic probation) with a minimum 3.0 GPA in their respective major.
Student must be currently enrolled in an institution of higher learning in the State of Texas at a junior level or above.
Undergraduate students must have two (2) academic semesters remaining when the scholarship is awarded or be enrolled in graduate school.
Student must be majoring in Radio, Television, Film; Broadcast Journalism; or related major.
Student must submit at least two letters of recommendation from faculty, employers or internship supervisor.
Student must submit a 3 page essay responding to these questions.

Student must include a sample of work. Include in your essay 3-5 links to your best/most relevant work samples. Work samples should be broadcast (television) or online pieces. Applicants are encouraged to upload their work samples to sites such as You Tube, Vimeo, or their personal website. Please discuss your role in each piece on the sample (e.g. producer, editor, talent, photographer, etc.)
Misti Torres Student Scholarship
The Lone Star Emmy Educational Foundation proudly offers a scholarship program for college students pursuing a career in the television industry in the memory of Misti Torres McCarty. Her lifelong passion revolved around education and opening career paths for students in the television profession. Torres was a television news producer in many Texas television markets as well as Miami, Florida. She also served as the Executive Director of the Lone Star EMMY chapter. The Misti Torres Student Scholarship will be awarded up to the amount of $2,500 each to qualified students chosen by our Scholarship Committee. The Foundation will annually review the amount of the scholarships.
To be considered for a scholarship, a student must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Student must be in good standing (not on academic probation) with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Harold Taft Scholarship
The Lone Star Emmy Educational Foundation proudly offers a scholarship program for college students pursuing meteorology and atmospheric science. Thanks to a generous donation from NBC DFW/KXAS-TV in Dallas/Fort Worth, the Lone Star Emmy Educational Foundation developed an annual college scholarship fund in the memory of Harold Taft, who served as Chief Meteorologist at KXAS-TV from 1949 until 1991. The Lone Star EMMY Foundation will award scholarships of up to $2,500 each to qualified students chosen by our Scholarship Committee. The Foundation will annually review the amount of the scholarships.
To be considered for a scholarship, a student must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Student must be in good standing (not on academic probation) with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
