Massachusetts Scholarships

"Here are the first 20 scholarships where one of the requirements is based on where you live."

Some states or counties have hundreds of scholarships for which you may qualify.

Philip W. Sheridan-Tighe and Bond Scholarship

Graduating seniors from Hampden or Hampshire counties who will be studying civil engineering (or a related field) at a four-year college. One $2,800 award was made in previous year.

James L. Shriver Scholarship

Students from western MA pursuing technical careers. One $600 award was made in previous year. Giving limited to western MA.

Lucius H. & Dorothy J. Tarbell Scholarship

Students attending Western New England College. Four $1,000 awards were made in previous year. Giving limited to western MA.

Emmanuel S. Tesoro and Marian T. Tesoro Scholarship

Giving limited to residents of East Longmeadow, MA.

United Way/YWCA Scholarship for Women

Women, age 18 or older, from Holyoke, South Hadley or Granby. The award is paid over a two-year period. One $2,800 award was made in previous year.

Mary Volanakis Memorial Scholarship Fund

Students of the Greek Orthodox faith: preference to members of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield. Five $1,000 awards were made in previous year. Giving limited to western MA.

Charles F. Warner Scholarship

For residents of Springfield. Four $250 awards were made in previous year.

Billie Foster and Bertha Weinberg Scholarship

Graduates of Springfield Technical Community College, Holyoke Community College, and Greenfield Community College attending four-year schools with preference for residents of Holyoke, or Northampton, MA. Two $2,500 awards were made in previous year.

Westbank-Jane M. Knapp Scholarship

Graduates of MacDuffie School in Springfield. One $800 award was made in previous year. Giving limited to western MA.

Dinn Brothers Student Athlete Award

One male and one female scholar and athlete from western Massachusetts who had been chosen as an Athlete of the Year by The Republican Newspaper. Giving limited to western MA.

Alan Couto Memorial Scholarship Fund

Scholarship awards to qualified financially needy individuals in MA. Please contact the foundation through letter for more information. Giving primarily in Massachusetts.

Babson, Paul & Edith Scholarship

Scholarship Value: $1,000 - $3,500 Classifications: Open Minimum GPA: 2.5 Eligible Majors: Open Eligible Schools: UNCF Member Colleges and Universities Eligible Locations: Massachusetts Scholarship Detail: This scholarship is open to students who are from Boston, MA.
