Kentucky Scholarships

For children of employees of Toyota Motor Manufacturing.

To benefit aspiring broadcasters from the mountains of eastern Kentucky. Limited to residents of eastern KY.

For a Kentucky resident who will be attending the Cynthiana branch of Maysville Community College. Limited to residents of central and eastern KY.

Established to benefit students attending the Licking Valley Center of Maysville Community College. Limited to residents of central and eastern KY.

Purpose: The purpose for this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those individuals interested in pursuing a career in welding engineering. Eligibility: The Howard E. and Wilma J. Adkins Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time junior or senior level student pursuing a minimum four-year bachelor's degree in welding engineering (WE) or welding engineering technology (WET); however, priority will be given to welding engineering (WE) students. All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements. Applicant must be a minimum of eighteen years of age. Applicant must have a minimum high school diploma. Applicant must have completed enough academic credits to qualify for junior level status. Applicant must have a minimum 3.20 grade point average in the engineering, scientific and technical subjects and 2.80 grade point average overall. No financial need is required to qualify. Applicant must submit all required application information. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and plan to attend an academic institution located within the United States. Priority will be given to those individuals residing or attending school in the states of Wisconsin or Kentucky. (A resident is defined as having lived in the specific area for a minimum of one year.) Applicants may reapply; however, persons who have received this award may reapply and may be granted the award for a maximum of two years. The award will be presented to individuals nationwide. Applicant does not have to be a member of the American Welding Society. The AWS Foundation does not discriminate by age, race, color, national origin, disability, creed, or gender. Selection Applicant will be chosen by the Named Scholarship Selection Committee comprised of five (5) members, which have been selected by the National Educational Scholarship Committee. Selection committee will determine award recipient in February of each year. Recipient will be announced at the National Awards Luncheon. Awards One $2,500 award will be given annually. No awards will be paid directly to the recipient. All awards will be paid directly to the academic institution by the AWS Foundation.

Our scholarship fund was founded in 2003 and we have awarded 19 winners during this time. We understand the overwhelming number of career opportunities available to students and how difficult this can be to navigate. For the 2019 award, we have doubled the value to $1000 to further our support of students and their education. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply. A specific major is not required for this award, but the applicant should have above a 2.4 Grade Point Average.

Established by Isabelle F. Smith in 1999, in memory of her parents, to provide annual scholarships for female residents of Kentucky majoring in environmentally related programs at public universities in Kentucky. Scholarship is non-renewable. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and Procter & Gamble Company have partnered to provide financial resources to assist outstanding Latino undergraduates pursuing degrees in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The award amount is $2,500. Eligibility Requirements: * Be of Hispanic heritage * Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired) * Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale * Must major in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field * Must currently reside in one of the following locations: o Chicago, IL o Dallas, TX o Georgia o Houston, TX o Indiana o Kentucky o McAllen, TX o Miami, FL o New York o North Carolina o Ohio o San Antonio, TX o Los Angeles metropolitan area * Have plans to enroll FULL-TIME in a degree seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam * Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
