CP Aviation Emergency Maneuver Training Scholarship

This scholarship aims to promote aviation safety through unusual attitude and aerobatic training. The scholarship includes three modules of the EMT® course which includes Stall/Spin Awareness, In-flight Emergencies, and Basic Aerobatics. The course will be taught in a Citabria and Decathlon.CP Aviation is a family-owned business located in Santa Paula, California. CP currently maintains a fleet of aerobatic airplanes ranging from a Citabria to a Pitts S-2B, and numerous Cessnas. CP is also home to three of the country’s Master CFI-Aerobatic instructors, Rich Stowell and Judy Phelps. Giving primarily in Ventura County, CA.

Delta Kappa Gamma Recruitment Grant Scholarship

College Major/Area of Study: Pursuing a degree for a career in Teaching Student Profile: Female college sophomore who is pursuing a career in teaching and is a resident of Ventura County with full-time student status. The award is renewable provided recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA and is a full-time student in college. Special Requirements: Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Financial need will be a consideration. Applicants must be willing to attend a personal interview in the city of San Buenaventura. Average award: $1,000 Average # of awards: 1

Michael A. DiRaimondo Foundation Scholarship

College Major/Area of Study: Pursuing a Paramedic Training degree Student Profile: California residents (with a preference for Ventura County residents) who have received an Emergency Medical Training (EMT) Certificate and who intend to enroll as candidates for a Paramedic Training degree at an accredited Southern California training institution, college or university (Santa Barbara to San Diego). Special Requirement: Student must demonstrate financial need. Average award: Up to $10,000 Average # of awards: 1-2

Amy Durst McAvoy Soroptimists International of Camarillo

College Major/Area of Study: Math or Science (Physical or Natural Sciences) Student Profile: Female students who are residents of Ventura County and who are currently enrolled at California State University, Channel Islands, majoring in math or science (physical or natural sciences). Special Requirement: Financial need will be a weighing factor in final selection of recipient but is not a requirement. Average Award: $1,000 Average # of awards: 1

Wildman Paraprofessional Teacher Training Program (WPTTP)

The purpose of this program is to recruit paraprofessionals in Ventura County to participate in teacher training programs leading to a California Teaching Credential. Provisions of the program include support and funds for tuition, books, all state mandated exams and application fees. Carl Greenberg Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a college student pursuing investigative or political reporting. Carl Greenberg was a political reporter at the Los Angeles Times, famed for being singled out by Richard Nixon as the only reporter who covered him “fairly.” ($1,000). Students from Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties who have completed at least their freshman year of college.

NAWIC Chapter #139 Scholarship

The Ventura County Chapter of The National Association of Women in Construction is offering scholarship funds to students in our local educational institutions who may be interested in pursuing careers in the construction industry. Our scholarships are available to all students, regardless of gender, in any area related to the construction industry. In past years, scholarships have been awarded to students in architecture, construction management, trades and mechanical engineering. Please download a copy of the application form, which you are free to duplicate if more forms are needed. This information is available to any student who may have an interest in applying for scholarship funds. The due date for completed applications, along with official transcripts, is April 20th.

CalCPA Channel Counties Chapter

The chapter will be awarding scholarships to students selected from your college-based criteria set forth below. The scholarships this year will start at $500 and may range up to $2,500. We look forward to receiving your completed application. Eligibility: • Enrolled in an accounting program at a four-year university or college located in Ventura or Santa Barbara counties; a community college located in Ventura or Santa Barbara counties; or an extension curriculum in Ventura or Santa Barbara counties with 20 units completed and enrolled in the Certificate of Accounting Program; • Grade point average of 3.0 or above in all college level accounting courses and 3.0 or above in all college course work completed. Submit with application: • Two letters of recommendation: At least one from a college professor and one from a work-related individual, if applicable, regarding the applicant’s character (honesty, integrity, leadership capabilities, motivation and ability to accept responsibilities, etc.); intellectual ability and communication skills; and desire to become a CPA; • A written essay (maximum of 250 words) describing why you have an interest in an accounting career and describing your career goals; • A signed declaration attesting to eligibility; • Copy of transcript; and • Copy of résumé.

Emma Nylen Scholarship

Criteria: 1. Must be a Ventura County resident. 2. Must be a graduate or undergraduate student. 3. Must be attending college.
