Political Science Scholarships

ISF is pleased to expand its activities to the Greater Boston Region through the ISF-Syed Ibrahim Memorial Scholarship initiated by the Syed family in memory of Syed Ibrahim. This scholarship is open to local residents of the Greater Boston region who upon graduation will remain or return to the region to play a prominent role in their local community through their activism and leadership, developing visionary ideas for the future of their community. In addition, ISF encourages its scholarship recipients to fulfill a volunteer service obligation through relevant internship programs within one year of receiving a scholarship under the direct supervision of ISF and its regional Strategic Partner the Islamic Society Boston Cultural Center, ISBCC. Description and Eligibility: ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of three months. Each Eligible Applicant Must Be: Muslim and active member of the Greater Boston Muslim Community; Attending an accredited university in the U.S.; Majoring in an ISF supported field of study; Maintaining a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average; A Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.; An undergraduate (junior/senior) or of graduate standing.

The National Federation of Republican Women established the Betty Rendel Scholarship Fund in September 1995 in honor of NFRW Past President Betty Rendel's extraordinary leadership skills and dedication to the Republican Party in her home state of Indiana, as well as at the national level. The three annual scholarships of $1,000 are awarded to female undergraduates who are majoring in political science, government or economics and have successfully completed at least two years of college coursework. The recipients are chosen from applicants from across the nation. Scholarship winners may not reapply.

Amount: $ 1,000 Criteria Must be enrolled at a accredited university or public / private college in the State of Texas Completed 90 credit hours before the fall semester All majors are eligible but students must be pursing a pre-law program and / or planning to attend law school Have and maintain a 2.75 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Provide one letter of recommendation from an educator familiar with your academic career Provide a resume of your community service activities Must maintain full-time enrollment status (12 hours if applicable) for the duration of the scholarship Preference will be given to female students of Hispanic descent

Catherine W. Pierce scholarship was established to support students who are majoring in disciplines within the Arts and/or History. Mrs. Pierce had a great interest in helping deserving students pursue the fields of Art or History. The award amount is up to $5,000. Requirements for the Naqvi Scholarship This scholarship is judged primarily on need basis, but does not exclude achievement standards. The scholarship must be submitted, in full, by March 31. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Applications for scholarship can be submitted by any high school senior or high school graduate from the state of Nevada. You must be seeking a law oriented degree. A student aid report showing income status of your household must be attached for application to be considered. Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0. A transcript must be attached with counselor or school representative signature for application to be considered. This scholarship is a one time scholarships worth $2,000. Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit recommendation letters and/or resumes to substantiate their application. This $1,000 scholarship is open to any student studying for a career in the legal field. All applicants must be: Pursuing a degree in pre-law or paralegal studies, or; Working towards their J.D. in any concentration related to the law. SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY All applicants for the Scholarship must meet the following criteria: You must be a citizen of the United States. You must demonstrate plans to enroll for admission‚ or have proof of current full-time enrollment at an accredited institution. If you have not yet received your acceptance into college or law school‚ you may still apply‚ but the scholarship will not be released without proof of acceptance and enrollment. Your GPA must meet a minimum score of 3.0. The Offices of Moseley Collins firmly believes in helping those interested in the legal profession. In an effort to foster awareness and encourage higher education, we have established a $500 scholarship for students interested in becoming lawyers. To qualify you need to be a college student interested in one day attending law school. It is our hope to recognize students with a strong personal drive and inner dedication to enter the legal profession. Interested college students should write an essay of 500 words or less, discussing why they want to be an attorney and how they would use a law degree to benefit society. The Dirksen Center sponsors the LaHood Scholarships to promote the study of politics and governance as practiced by the distinguished public servants who have represented Illinois's 18th district in Congress, a list which includes Abraham Lincoln, Everett Dirksen, Robert H. Michel, Ray LaHood and, currently, Congressman Aaron Schock. The purpose of the LaHood Scholarships is to provide financial support for tuition, fees, and books to Bradley University juniors who are majoring in a discipline related to The Dirksen Center's purpose and interest or in a subject related to the study of the federal government. The program is managed by The Institute for Principled Leadership. The LaHoods endowed the program with a series of donations to The Dirksen Congressional Center beginning in 2005. Who is Qualified to Apply? In order to be considered for a LaHood Scholarship, students must meet the following requirements: They are a junior in good standing who will enter their senior year of study in a field related to the study of the U.S. government (e.g., political science, public administration, American studies, U.S. history). They attend Bradley University. They have a Grade Point Average (on a four-point scale) of at least 3.5 overall and 3.5 in their major. They agree to write a 250-word evaluation of the impact of their scholarship before the end of their senior year.
