Here are some of the Nursing scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

AORN Novice Researcher Grant Program

To provide funding for research to registered or undergraduate student nurses, especially those who are members of AORN. Amount Awarded: $1000 Duration: These are 1-time grants. Eligibility: This program is open to registered or student nurses who wish to complete an individual research project related to perioperative nursing practice. The project may be part of a formal educational program at the baccalaureate level, such as a dissertation, or may be a self-initiated study or research project. Students conducting projects as part of an educational program must provide a letter of support from their research advisor as part of their application. Nurses conducting research must provide evidence of consultation or other support that will ensure that the project is scientifically sound and conducted according to accepted research guidelines. Preference is given to members of the association.

AORN Research Associate Grant Program

To provide funding for research to registered or graduate student nurses, especially those who are members of AORN. Amount Awarded: $5000 Duration: These are 1-time grants. Eligibility: This program is open to registered or graduate student nurses who wish to complete an individual research project related to perioperative nursing practice. The project may be part of a formal educational program at the master's level, such as a dissertation, or may be a self-initiated study or research project. Students conducting projects as part of an educational program must provide a letter of support from their research advisor as part of their application. Nurses conducting research must provide evidence of consultation or other support that will ensure that the project is scientifically sound and conducted according to accepted research guidelines. Preference is given to members of the association. A research project related to perioperative nursing practice.

AORN Scholarship Program

To provide financial assistance to members of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN)who wish to continue their education. Duration: 1 year; may be renewed if the recipient maintains at least a 3.0 GPA. Eligibility: Eligible are registered nurses who are currently practicing in the perioperative environment, have been members of the association for at least 1 year, and want to return to school to further their education at the baccalaureate, master's, or doctoral level. Entry-level nursing students and non-members are not eligible. Applicants must submit evidence of acceptance or enrollment in an accredited nursing porgram or enrollment in a pre-nursing curriculum applicable to admission in a baccalaureate nursing program accredited by the National League for Nursing. Applicants educated outside of the United States must submit a transcript of recent course work in the United States demonstrating their capacity to maintain a 3.0 GPA on the college level. Applications must include a personal statement describing current and past contributions to perioperative nursing practice, research, and education; a description of financial need; a description of how the applicant will apply the information gained from course work to perioperative nursing practice and the association; and professional goals related to completion of the degree. For nurses who wish to continue their education at the baccalaureate, master's, or doctoral level.

AORN Senior Scientist Grant Program

To provide funding to experienced nurse researchers, especially members of AORN, who wish to undertake investigator-initiated research. Amount Awarded: $25000 Duration: These are 1-time grants. Eligibility: This program is open to experienced nurse researchers who wish to complete an individual research project related to perioperative nursing practice. The project may be part of a postdoctoral fellowship program. Project must be of sufficient complexity and scope that the outcomes can be expected to contribute to the scientific knowledge of perioperative nursing practice. Preference is given to members of the association. A research grant on perioperative nursing practice.

AQHF Education or Nursing Scholarship

Must be current member of AQHA or AQHYA and pursuing a career in education or nursing. Recipient receives $2500 per year for four years. Must be renewed each semester. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: Affiliation: AQHA or AQHYA member

Associate Degree Nursing Pilot Scholarship Program

To provide forgivable loans to associate degree nursing students in California who are demographically underrepresented,economically disadvantaged, and willing to practice in a medically underserved area of the state. Amount Awarded: $4000 Duration: 1 year; may be renewed. Eligibility: This program is open to students accepted to or enrolled in an associate degree nursing program in California who agree to 1) obtain a baccalaureate of science degree from a nursing program in California within 5 years of obtaining an associate degree in nursing, and 2) practice nursing in direct patient care for at least 2 years in a medically underserved area of California. Selection is based on work experience in a medically underserved area; community background; career goals; prior academic performance; potential for future academic success; and financial need. Preference is given to full-time students or part-time students who can complete their associate degree nursing requirements within the next 2 years. U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required. Additional Information: Recipients of these scholarships must enter into a contract with the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development to complete a baccalaureate degree in nursing with 5 years of obtaining the associate degree in nursing and to provide direct patient care in a medically underserved area or facility for 2 years. They are required to repay the scholarship if the contract terms are not fulfilled.

Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses

AWHONN (formerly NAACOG) awards education fellowships to nurses. Applicants must be members who have been a full or associate member for at least one full year prior to the year of application, and who are pursuing a baccalaureate or master's degree in nursing. AWHONN members may contact the national office each January for a current application (be sure to include your membership number).

ASTRA USA Research Award

To provide funding to members of NASN who are interested in conducting research on a school nursing issue. Amount Awarded: $3000 Number Awarded: 1 or more each year. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the association who are interested in conducting a research project. Applicants must be 1) engaged in the practice of school nursing, the education of school nurses, or the study of school nursing as a graduate or undergraduate student; or 2) retired from school nursing. They must be interested in conducting research on 1 of the following topics: current perceptions of parents regarding children's pain and its management, barriers to pain treatment in the school setting, or the role of the school nurse in education regarding pain management for children and their families.

Aventis Pharmaceuticals NP Student Scholarships

To provide financial assistance to members of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) who are pursuing a master's degree. Amount Awarded: $1000 Number Awarded: 3 each year. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: This program is open to current student and full members of the academy who are enrolled in a MSN degree program as a nurse practitioner (NP). Applicants must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher. They must have completed at least 25% but no more than 75% of their program requirements. Additional Information: Funding for this program is provided by Avenis Pharmaceuticals. There is a $10 application fee.

AWHONN Education Scholarships

To provide financial assistance for further education to members of the Association of Women's Health,Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). Amount Awarded: $1000 Number Awarded: 2 each year. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the association who are interested in a program of study that may involve 1) working for a baccalaureate or master's degree in nursing, 2) working toward a doctorate in nursing or a related field, 3) postgraduate practitioner training, or 4) expanded role preparation in women's health or neonatal nursing.

Board of Directors Scholarship

Scholarships for members of the National Black Nurses' Association who are enrolled at an accredited school of nursing. Requires transcript, letter of recommendation from local chapter and school of nursing,and self-addressed stamped envelope with $.78 postage. Must show evidence of community service. Amount Awarded: $500 to $1,000 Duration: 1 year. Ethnicity: African American Affiliation: NBNA member

Bristol-Myers Squibb NP Student Scholarships

To provide financial assistance to members of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) who are pursuing a master's degree. Amount Awarded: $1000 Number Awarded: 4 each year. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: This program is open to current student and full members of the academy who are enrolled in a MSN degree program as a nurse practitioner (NP). Applicants must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Additional Information: Funding for this program is provided by Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. There is a $10 application fee.
