Area of study Pre-Medicine and Nursing.

Hays Medical Center Volunteers Scholarship

Student must be a junior or senior with high academic standing majoring in the health-related fields.

James and Phyllis Kellerman Family Scholarship

Eligibility: 1. Native FHSU student, cannot be a transfer student. 2. Junior or senior classification. 3. Awarded yearly on a rotating basis to the following areas: Management Information Systems, Elementary Education and Chemistry Pre-Medicine major.

Healing Arts Scholarship

Banyan Tree Healing Center is committed to supporting the future of the Healing Arts & Related Fields in all its unique expressions including: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Family, Community, or Global Health. We are interested in endeavors that help people to become healthy and whole, expand consciousness, improve communities and make the world a cleaner, harmonious, and more compassionate place to live. We are exceptionally interested in anything that seeks to apply compassion to human suffering whether this be through a professional career or through volunteer or charity work. We are offering ongoing, yearly scholarships of $250 - $500 to students who are seeking a future career path in service to humanity.

Nicholas & Mary Trivillian Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY•College/University: Any•Financial Need: Yes•Renewable: Yes•Specific preferences:(1) Field of study in Medicine or PharmacyGeneral Criteria:·must be a resident of West Virginia·must be a full time student (minimum of 12 Credit Hours)·must demonstrate academic achievement (at least a 2.5 GPA)·minimum score of 20 on the ACT ·must demonstrate good moral character

Anil and Neema Thakrar Family Fund

The Anil and Neema Thakrar Family Fund is an endowment fund of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities. This scholarship will be used to assist students for the study of a medical related discipline attending a school in Dauphin, Cumberland or Perry Counties.Selection criteria:Scholarship applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:1. Students must attend college for the study of a medical related discipline2. Leadership/Community Service3. Character4. Academic performance with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale5. An essay on the following topic: “My biggest life challenge and what I learned from the experience.”6. Financial need

Alliance Medical Education Scholarship Fund (AMES)

To financially assist deserving medical students enrolled in a Pennsylvania medical school, the Pennsylvania Medical Society Alliance established the Alliance Medical Education Scholarship (AMES) Fund. This fund, established in April 2000, is supported by Alliance fund-raising events and general and memorial contributions.Awarded to second- or third-year medical students (when applying) who are residents of Pennsylvania and enrolled full time in a Pennsylvania medical school.

Endowment for South Asian Students of Indian Descent

Starting in 2003, each year, a scholarship will be available for a South Asian Indian student enrolled full time in his/her second, third, or fourth year at an accredited Pennsylvania medical school. Applicants must be residents of Pennsylvania.

Doug Stirn Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Established in 2002 by Rosemary Stirn, provides a scholarship for students graduating from FCHS who are deserving of financial assistance. Primary consideration given to students who plan to pursue a medical profession.

Dr. Hans and Clara Zimmerman Foundation Health Scholarships

Description:Dr. Hans Zimmerman established this foundation to provide financial assistance to individuals in Hawai‘i wishing to pursue an education in a health field. During his long and productive career in Hawai‘i, Dr. Zimmerman encouraged countless individuals to choose careers in medicine. At his death, additional assets came into the foundation so that it is now one of the largest scholarship funds in Hawai‘i. Requirements: Plan to major in a health-related field in a school in the USA (not including sports medicine, psychology unless clinical, social work). Be a college junior, senior or graduate student. Minimum GPA 3.0. Personal statement should include a description of your participation in community service projects or activities.

Gilberto and Lennetta Pesquera Medical Scholarships

The Glens Falls Foundation Gilberto and Lennetta Pesquera Fund offers scholarship grants for medical education on an annual basis to assist qualified men and women who have graduated from local area schools and have successfully completed the first year of medical school. The current amount for each grant is $4,000 per year.These grants are restricted to tuition, fees, books and supplies. The payments are remitted directly to the educational institution for credit to the student’s account.All applications received on or before the due date will be referred to the Pesquera Scholarship Committee for evaluation and rating. Grants will be awarded on academic performance and achievements, financial needs and a letter of recommendation relating to character, motivation and potential of the individual.Applicants must request the Office of Student Records to provide a copy of their current school academic record to the Committee Chairman. The record may be mailed under separate cover.In addition, each applicant is required to attach a letter from the Dean stating that completion of the current year has been achieved and that the student will continue next year. A letter from the applicant should indicate their academic and occupational career goals, interests and activities, plus any other information deemed pertinent to support the student’s application. All personal summaries and data must be typed or printed. Failure to furnish the requested documentation with your application will void its eligibility.

International Scholar Laureate Program (ISLP)

Offered across the globe in Australia, China, Europe, India and South Africa, the ISLP programs provide delegates the opportunity to further career development, strengthen leadership skills and engage in a culturally enriching experience. In each ISLP delegation, scholars increase knowledge and preparation in a specific career field such as Anthropology & Archaeology, Communications & Journalism, Business, Diplomacy & International Relations, Engineering, Medicine and Nursing. Through a comparative curriculum, they gain a global understanding of how their career of interest is practiced in the host country and they are able to compare and contrast current methods and procedures in the United States.Golden Key and ISLP have partnered to offer four (4) $2,000(USD) scholarships exclusively for Golden Key members.
