Here are some of the Film Studies scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Miss Nancy Besst Graduate Memorial Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Scholarship applicants: • must be actively engaged in a graduate-level curriculum in one or more areas of the television industry and be attending a college in Northern California (Visalia to the Oregon border), Hawaii, or Reno, Nevada; • be enrolled in a television graduate program; • have at least one remaining year of graduate study for the graduate scholarship. Each application must include: 1) a completed scholarship application form; 2) a copy of your college transcript indicating your GPA and class standing (PDF); 3) a one-page essay summarizing your television academic and work experience, related activities and personal goals (Word or PDF); 4) a letter of recommendation from your dean or professor at your school explaining why you are a good candidate for an award plus the names of two faculty members we can contact for more information about your work. R. Walker Geitner III Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility Graduate or graduating senior of Asheville High School who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in film, video production, visual or performing arts. Selection Criteria Strong moral character Emphasis on consistent and strong performance in the chosen discipline(film, video, visual or performing arts) Special achievements and/or recognition in film, video or the arts Academic ability/achievement in other subjects will be considered Financial need Community service (contributions to school and community) Extracurricular activities/work experience Application Procedure To apply, students must complete an application online. The application, with required attachments, must be submitted online on or before the deadline.

AGBU - Performing Arts Fellowship (study in all countries except UK)

AGBU offers scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students of Armenian descent worldwide (excluding citizens of Armenia studying in Armenia) who are pursuing studies in the field of performing arts (music, drama, and film). Applicants must be enrolled in full-time degree programs at highly selective conservatories or colleges/universities worldwide (except the UK; please see below for more information) and have a GPA of 3.5 and above as measured by the American grading system scale. Grants are awarded annually in the range of $2,500-$7,500 USD, and applicants may apply for renewal for up to three (3) years toward conservatory/college/university education expenses. Performing Arts students pursuing study in the UK are not eligible for this scholarship; these students should apply for an AGBU Performing Arts Fellowship (study in the UK).

AGBU - Performing Arts Fellowship (study in UK)

AGBU offers scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students of Armenian descent worldwide (excluding citizens of Armenia studying in Armenia) who are pursuing studies in the field of performing arts (music, drama, and film). Applicants must be enrolled in full-time degree programs at highly selective conservatories or colleges/universities in the United Kingdom and have a GPA of 3.5 and above as measured by the American grading system scale. Grants are awarded annually in the range of up to £3,000 GBP, and applicants may apply for renewal for up to three (3) years toward conservatory/college/university education expenses. Performing Arts students pursuing study outside of the UK are not eligible for this scholarship; these students should apply for an AGBU Performing Arts Fellowship (study in all countries except the UK).

Washington Scholarship for the Arts, the Horse and a Whole Lot More!

To be eligible: Must be currently enrolled or will be enrolling in a recognized art program within the current calendar year. GPA may be submitted; however, the scholarship will be awarded based on creativity and not with a focus on GPA. Supporting materials include: Describe, in whatever medium you choose, the creative journey that has led you to submit this application. You may submit this description in written, oral or an art media form of your choice (JPEG, audio, YouTube video, etc.). If you choose to submit a media file, please upload to Youtube.com or any other video-sharing website, copy and post link in the 'Student Essay Questions' portion of the application process. Letter(s) of recommendation (optional) Current, official transcript (optional) Statement of annual household income or Student Aid Report (from FAFSA). Preference may be given to applicants based on financial need. Financial aid award letter(s) or other scholarship awards (if applicable) Applicants apply online. Applications will be reviewed by The Race For Education Selection Committee. Finalists may be contacted for a personal interview. Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Equine Art Committee. ATG Artistic Scholarship

To provide financial assistance and promotion of Asian American college students pursuing a major in the performing, visual arts, journalism and/or mass communications. Awards: $1,000 to be applied toward school tuition and fees General Eligibility Requirements: Must be of at least 50% Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity Must be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S Must be either a high school senior or a college student currently enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. vocational, junior college, or four-year college/university and must be a full-time, degree seeking student by the upcoming academic calendar year and pursuing a major in the visual/performing arts (film, theatre, fashion, photography, graphic design, dance, music, journalism, mass communications, etc.) Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) Family members of Board members are ineligible Selection Criteria: Selection is based on a rating system judged in five major categories. The candidate with the highest combined cumulative points will receive the scholarship. These categories are: Quality of content submission (essay, artistic portfolio) Academic performance Leadership/community service experience and contribution Letters of recommendation Phone/in-person committee interview Please note that those Scholarship Winners will be invited to attend our annual charity event, Fashion for a Passion held in Fall in Dallas, Texas. Fashion for a Passion is our biggest event of the year which helps to raise money for our charitable causes as well as for the current scholarship. The presence of scholarship winners is highly encouraged. Funds will be disbursed directly to the educational institution in the student’s name.
