Here are some of the Engineering scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.
Robert A. Dannels Scholarship
Available for full-time graduate student in a program leading to an advanced degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field.
Nomination of handicapped persons is encouraged.
Verne R. Dapp Scholarship
Available for full-time graduate students in a program leading to an advanced degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field.
Scholarship being offered every odd years.
Walter Meyer Scholarship
Available for full-time graduate students in a program leading to an advanced degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field.
Scholarship being offered every even years.
Saul Levine Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship available for full-time graduate students in a program leading to an advanced degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field.
Nuclear Criticality Safety Pioneers Scholarship
Administered by the NCS Division, this scholarship is in recognition of those individuals who have been identified as being"Pioneers" in the industry and who have made major contributions to nuclear criticality safety. These individuals as well as a brief summary of their significant contributions will be maintained on the NCS division's web site.
One scholarship will be awarded to a graduate nuclear science/engineering major, with the desired emphasis on areas supporting nuclear criticality safety. These areas include, but are not limited to, computer code development for neutron transport calculations, critical or subcritical experiments, and neutron cross section evaluation.
Evaluation Criteria
Contributions to American Nuclear Society (30%)
National ANS activities, including meeting attendance and offices held;
Student ANS Chapter activities, including all offices held;
Local section activities including meeting attendance and offices held; and
Other activities that are aligned with ANS objective, such as ones that promote public understanding of nuclear energy/research.
Financial Need (20%)
A statement of financial need, including special circumstances;
The average number of hours per week that the student works for pay, during the school year;
The dollar value of all scholarships received for the school year.
Professional Accomplishments and Career Objectives (20%)
A summary of accomplishments that includes honors, awards, professional work activities, and special interest activities.
A description of long-term and short-term professional objectives (especially indication of interest in NCS)
Academic Performance (30%)
A transcript.
Faculty Recommendations - Completed recommendations from three faculty members.
Decommissioning, Decontamination and Reutilization Scholarship (Masters Level)
For students pursuing a degree in engineering or science major with emphasis on:/
Decommissioning/decontamination or,
Management/characterization of radioactive waste or,
Restoration of the environment or,
Nuclear engineering.
Special selection criteria, restrictions, and other special requirements (if any):
The student must be enrolled in a curriculum of engineering and the scholarship is limited to U.S. citizens who are enrolled in U.S. schools.
Applicants for the DD&R Scholarship must submit a description of long-term and short-term professional objectives.
The student will join the American Nuclear Society (ANS) and designate the DDR Division as one of his/her professional divisions.
The student will commit to participating in the DD&R Division Activities by attending either or both the ANS annual and winter meeting and serving as a student representative at the DD&R Executive Committee meetings at the ANS meeting. The Division will provide funding for the student's travel, including student registration, reasonable transportation, food, and lodging.
NEED Scholarship Award for Community College and Trade School
A $2500 award for students in two-year program is available for applicants planning a career in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field and enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university located in the United States, but need not be U.S. citizens. Up to four (4) awards will be made per year for students who have a greater than normal financial need.
NASCAR/Wendell Scott Sr. Award
Full-time undergraduate or graduate students attending four-year HACU-member institutions with a declared major in Engineering, Business, Public Relations, Mass Media, Sports Marketing, Marketing, Management, or Technology. Students must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0., and attend school in Florida, Georgia, or North Carolina. Upon notification of selection, scholarship recipients are required to submit a headshot electronically to HACU for NASCAR press purposes, and encouraged to apply to the NASCAR Diversity Internship Program (www.nascardiversity.com). NASCAR and its partners help nurture new talent and raise awareness of the industry's efforts to increase diversity and attract the best minds in America.
The Women in Aerospace Foundation Scholarship
The purpose of our scholarships is to encourage young women interested in a career in the aerospace field to pursue higher education degrees in engineering or science or math. We have four merit-based awards of $2000 that will be given to rising juniors and seniors in college.
AL/MS Section AWWA Scholarships
For Individuals Interested in Pursuing Careers in the Water Works Industry in Alabama and Mississippi
The Alabama/Mississippi Section of the American Water Works Association can help!
Complete scholarship applications by February 1 and direct to Mr. Jim Miller.
Each applicant must complete and submit the following:
1. Official Application Form (check website for the Application Form)
2. Resume (that includes educational, licensure, and experience)
3. Personal Statement
4. Letter of Support or recommendation from the sponsoring utility,individual member or academic advisor
5. Academic applicants only, transcripts of education and proof of student status
For individuals pursuing advanced licensure or training in the water works (science) field.

For individuals pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the water works (science) field.

WEF Canham Graduate Studies Scholarship
This scholarship provides $25,000 for a post-baccalaureate student in the water environment field. The scholarship is for education related expenses such as room and board, tuition and books. The scholarship may not be used to cover stipends or wages.
Application Requirements and Criteria:
Member of the Water Environment Federation.
Completed application providing a summary of academic and practical experience in the environmental field.
Official college/university transcripts.
Letter of acceptance to a graduate program in the water environment field.
Recommendations from three persons (at least one of these persons must be a member of the Water Environment Federation) who can attest to the applicant's academic and/or practical experience.
A detailed statement of degree objectives as related to applicant's career goals and intent to work in the water environment field (750 words minimum; 1,000 words maximum). Statement must accompany the application.
Recipients of the scholarship are expected to make a commitment to work in the water environment field for two years following completion of the degree.
Applications Accepted From:
Post-baccalaureate students in the water environment field.
Application forms must be completed and submitted along with three letters of reference. Recipient is responsible for taxes due on the award.
Connecticut Section AWWA Associates Committee General Scholarship Program
Applications are now being accepted for the CT Section AWWA Associates Committee General Scholarship Program, from CT Section AWWA members or their children/dependents, who have not previously been awarded a CT Section AWWA scholarship. High School seniors and students currently enrolled in an education program beyond the secondary level in a 2 year, 4 year or graduate program are eligible. Student members of CT AWWA are also eligible.
Awards will be based on academic performance, participation in school and community activities,
application completeness and autobiographical sketch.
Applicants must submit a completed application form and the following information:
• A transcript of your high school record and college record, if applicable
• A typed and signed autobiographical sketch highlighting:
Your accomplishments, interests, hobbies, future plans; and
The name of the last book you read, why you read it, and its significance to you.
• Identify a person (not a relative) who has most influenced you and explain why.
• Identify any special circumstances that you wish to be considered that may distinguish you from
other applicants. These may include but are not limited to obstacles you have overcome, academic
goals, interests, advancements, financial constraints, etc.
