Churchill Scholarship
Eligibility:
An applicant for the Churchill Scholarship must be a citizen of the United States, either native born or naturalized, and must be a senior who is enrolled in one of the institutions participating in the Scholarship Program or a student who has recently graduated from one of those institutions. Upon taking up the Churchill Scholarship, a Churchill Scholar must be between the ages of 19 and 26, must hold a bachelor's degree or an equivalent, and may not have attained a doctorate.
The criteria for the selection of Churchill Scholars include:
Exceptional academic talent and outstanding achievement, especially in the major, as indicated by course grades. The Foundation does not require a minimum GPA, but recent Churchill Scholars have had a GPA of at least 3.7 and usually have 3.9 or above.
A capacity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the sciences, engineering, or mathematics by pursuing original, creative work at an advanced level as demonstrated by awards, prizes, research, and letters of recommendation. Applicants in the sciences and engineering will demonstrate extensive laboratory experience, internships, or other related work, while applicants in mathematics will show substantial independent work or other projects.
Outstanding personal qualities. Understanding the time commitment required by research, the Churchill Foundation does not seek so-called “well rounded” applicants; instead, it seeks applicants with what we call interesting “jagged edges.” Nonetheless, it should be noted that successful applicants display a bewildering array of talents activities outside of academic pursuits, especially in music, athletics, social service, among other activities.

Minority Academic Institutions Undergraduate Student Fellowships-Chemistry
Description:Established to provide financial assistance and summer internships to undergraduates at minority academic institutions (MAIs) who are interested in majoring in fields related to the environment. Eligibility:Applicants for this program must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled full time with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 in an accredited 4-year institution that meets the definition of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an MAI: Historically Black College and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), and Tribal Colleges (TCs). Students must be majoring in environmental science, physical sciences, biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, environmental health, social sciences, mathematics, or engineering. They must be available to work as interns at an EPA facility during the summer between their junior and senior years.
Foundation of the Wall and Ceiling Industry Scholarships - Construction Management
Description:Established to provide financial assistance for college study in disciplines related to the wall and ceiling industry to employees of firms that are members of the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industries-International (AWCI) and their dependents. Eligibility:This program is open to employees of AWCI member companies and their dependents. Applicants must be pursuing or planning to pursue, as a full-time student, post-secondary education in the field of construction management, engineering, or architecture. They must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during their last two semesters of study. Students in graduate school, technical school, associate degree programs, and 4-year colleges and universities are all eligible.
Praxair International Scholarship
The purpose for this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those individuals demonstrating his/her leadership abilities, and interested in pursuing a career in welding engineering or welding engineering technology. Eligibility The Praxair International Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student demonstrating leadership abilities and pursuing a minimum four-year bachelors degree in welding engineering (WE) or welding engineering technology (WET); however, priority will be given to welding engineering (WE) students. All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements. * Applicant must be a minimum of eighteen years of age. * Applicant must have a minimum high school diploma. * Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours). * Applicant must submit all required application information. * Financial need is not a criteria in order to apply; however, it would be a primary consideration in prioritizing top candidates. * Applicant must maintain a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average in order to qualify. * Applicant should have demonstrated leadership abilities through clubs, organizations, extra-curricular academic activities, community involvement, etc. * Applicant must be a United States or Canadian citizen and plan to attend an academic institution within the United States or Canada. * Applicants may reapply; however, persons who have received this award may reapply and may be granted the award for a maximum of four years. The award will be presented to individuals nationwide. Applicant does not have to be a member of the American Welding Society. The AWS Foundation does not discriminate by age, race, color, national origin, disability, creed, or gender. Selection Applicant will be chosen by the Named Scholarship Selection Committee comprised of five (5) members, which have been selected by the National Educational Scholarship Committee. Selection committee will determine award recipient in February of each year. Recipient will be announced at the National Awards Luncheon Awards One $2,500 award will be given annually. No awards will be paid to the recipient. All awards are for tuition and books only, and will be paid directly to the academic institution by the AWS Foundation. NAWIC Chapter #164 Scholarship Award
Description:For students currently enrolled that have at least one semester remaining in a course of study leading to a degree in a construction-related program. Post graduates are not eligible. Eligibility:Come to the Financial Aid office to pick up an application.
National Association of Home Builders Scholarship Foundation
Description:Financial assistance offered to students through the National Association of Home Builders. Eligibility:Open to students who are majoring in building sciences. Application and information only available through local Builders Association.
Midwest Chapter Scholarship - Don Nelson
Eligibility:Awards –The Midwest scholarship program will award ten (10) scholarships. Any candidate applying for a scholarship will only be eligible to win one of the aforementioned scholarships.Eligibility – A graduating senior in High School who will be enrolling in college for the fall semester, or a First, Second or Third year student currently enrolled in a full accredited College or University. Applicant must be a full time student in good academic standing. Applicants must be members of the AIST Midwest chapter or the dependent of a member of the AIST Midwest chapter. Engineering StudentSelection – An impartial Scholarship Committee not connected with the AIST Midwest Chapter will select scholarships on a basis of merit.
Jerry Robinson - Inweld Corporation Scholarship
The purpose for this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those individuals, with significant financial need, interested in pursuing a career in welding. The scholarship is available to the recipient for a maximum of four years, based on GPA requirement, full time attendance, and welding curriculum. Eligibility The Jerry Robinson - Inweld Corporation Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student pursuing a minimum four-year bachelors degree in a welding program at an accredited university. All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements. * Applicant must be a minimum of eighteen years of age as of October 1 of the year the scholarship is awarded. * Applicant must have a minimum high school diploma or G. E. D. in the year the scholarship is awarded. * Applicant must have a 2.5 overall grade point average. * Applicant must provide an essay as to why the funds are needed, how the scholarship would change his/her life, how it would allow him/her to further the joining sciences. * Student must be accepted at the specified university/college, and attend full-time. * Proof of financial need is required to qualify. Copies of student and parents/guardians previous year tax returns will be required. Student must provide proof that other financial aid has been applied for. * Applicant must submit all required application information. * Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and plan to attend an academic institution located within the United States. * Applicants may reapply; however, persons who have received this award will automatically be eligible to be granted the award for a maximum of four years. * This award is renewable for a maximum of four years. However, it will be the responsibility of the recipient to provide proof of the required designated GPA, full time attendance, and appropriate approved curriculum to continue receipt of scholarship. Deadline for the receipt of the final college transcript, proof of attendance, and proof of major will be July 1 of each year. Failure to provide this information by July 1 will result in the recipient being deemed ineligible for future awards. The award will be presented to individuals nationwide. Applicant does not have to be a member of the American Welding Society. The AWS Foundation does not discriminate by age, race, color, national origin, disability, creed, or gender. Architecture and Engineering Scholarship Program
This scholarship is intended to promote the professions of Architecture and Engineering. Graduating high school seniors with a minimum 3.5 GPA, who have been accepted into an accredited 4 or 5-year program in Architecture or Engineering may apply. Second year Community College transfer students with a minimum 3.2 GPA who have been accepted into an accredited program in Architecture or Engineering may apply. May be renewable based on performance. Award Amount: $2,000 Max. Projected # of Awards(all catagories): 2 Also for Architecture students. 3.5 GPA for high school students 3.2 GPA for College transfer students
Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue careers in these fields.
GeneTex for Education
GeneTex believes in accelerating scientific advancement and the notion that the genesis of future discoveries begins with the support of young scientists now. The GeneTex Scholarship Program will award a $2000 (USD) scholarship to students pursuing a STEM undergraduate or graduate degree. The scholarship will be awarded to one student twice a year.
PDX Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who attends a US university/college located Portland, Oregon. Applicants must meet general FEA scholarship eligibility requirements & preferences. Students interested in being considered for this annual scholarship should indicate this through their application forms. This scholarship is made possible by the generous support and fundraising efforts of international educators at PDX Abroad. PDX Abroad is a community of innovators advancing the field of education abroad through active engagement across institutional and organizational boundaries.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the U.S.
Must be applying for a study abroad program eligible for credit at the student’s educational institution
Must plan to study abroad for a minimum of 4 weeks in country
Is committed to supporting education abroad in his/her campus community through work with the FEA and his/her campus education abroad staff upon return
Preferences:
Applying to a study abroad program known for its academic rigor and immersion elements
Applying to a study abroad program that includes studying the language of the host country (if not English)
Applying to a study abroad program with a sustainable service-learning or volunteering component
Applying to a study abroad program in a non-traditional destination
Demonstrates financial need
FEA strongly encourages students to apply who represent a group that is traditionally underrepresented in education abroad
