Culinary Arts Scholarships

Here are some of the Culinary Arts scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Glenn and Sue Hammer Scholarship

The Glenn and Sue Hammer Scholarship supports hospitality students at UNLV. Priority goes first and foremost to Monterey County residents, followed by students from anywhere in California and then those elsewhere in the United States. Award amount: $2500 Who Can Apply: This scholarship is for eligible students attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas- Harrah College of Hotel Administration (Hospitality School). Of these students, first choice is for UNLV students from Monterey County, CA, followed by any students from California. If there are not eligible students meeting these preferences, the funds may be distributed to other eligible applicants attending UNLV- Hospitality School.

Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani /Giacomo Bologna Scholarship

The NRAEF and Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani (GRI) will award up to 6 students with an all-expense-paid trip from New York City to Italy. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in Italian viticulture - view a full list of eligibility requirements. The scholarship enables students to travel to Italy for a week and participate in various culinary and restaurant industry related classes and tours. During this program, students will be offered a first-hand experience in Italian winemaking and cooking. Each year, GRI organizes a unique experience for students that highlights a region in Italy. GRI is a not-for-profit association dedicated to promoting knowledge of authentic Italian food and wine through education. Award amount: This scholarship is for an educational trip to Italy. Who Can Apply: Eligible applicants must have an interest for Italian viticulture and cuisine. Candidates are chosen by GRI. Funds are used for an educational trip to Italy.

Professional Development Scholarships for Educators

This scholarship is for educators who are attending an NRAEF Summer Institute. Award amount: $1,750

AAC Andrew Macrina Scholarship Fund

Eligibility Requirements: The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, with the support of the American Academy of Chefs, will award a limited number of scholarships annually, based on the availability of institutional and private funds. To be considered by the scholarship committee, an application must meet the following requirements: • Be an exemplary student. Have or maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. • Be currently accepted to an accredited, post-secondary college, with a major in either culinary or pastry arts, or be an ACF registered apprentice. • Have a career goal of becoming a chef or pastry chef. Linda Cullen Memorial Scholarship Fund

Eligibility Requirements The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, with the support of the American Academy of Chefs, will award a limited number of scholarships annually, based on the availability of institutional and private funds. To be considered by the scholarship committee, an application must meet the following requirements: • Be an exemplary student. Have or maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. • Be currently accepted to an accredited, post-secondary college, with a major in either culinary or pastry arts, or be an ACF registered apprentice. • Have a career goal of becoming a chef or pastry chef. AAC Balestreri/Cutino Scholarship Fund

Eligibility Requirements: The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, with the support of the American Academy of Chefs, will award a limited number of scholarships annually, based on the availability of institutional and private funds. To be considered by the scholarship committee, an applicant must meet the following requirements: • Be an exemplary student. Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher. • Be currently enrolled in an accredited, post-secondary college, with a major in either culinary or pastry arts, or be an ACFEF registered apprentice. • Have completed a grading or marking period (trimester, semester or quarter). • Have a career goal of becoming a chef or pastry chef. AAC Chaîne des Rôtiseurs Scholarship Fund

To be considered by the scholarship committee, an applicant must meet the following requirements: • Be an exemplary student. Charlie Trotter’s Culinary Education Foundation/American Culinary Federation Education Foundation

Eligibility Requirements: Charlie Trotter’s Culinary Education Foundation partnered with ACF’s Education Foundation to award need-based scholarships to students seeking culinary careers and the pursuit of excellence. A limited number of scholarships will be awarded annually based on fund availability. To be considered by the scholarship committee, an applicant must meet the following criteria: • Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. • Be currently enrolled or accepted in an accredited, post-secondary school with a major in the culinary/hospitality field, or be an ACFEF-registered apprentice. • Demonstrate some level of foodservice experience or food classes at the secondary school level.

The Chef’s Academy Scholarship

Scholarship Information: The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, with the support of the American Academy of Chefs, will award two scholarships each year. Each recipient will receive $2,500 per year for four years to be applied directly to the student’s account at the institution. Eligibility Requirements To be considered by the scholarship committee, an applicant must meet the following requirements: • Be an exemplary student. AAC Spice Box Fund

General information: The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, with the support of the American Academy of Chefs, will award grants annually and on a competitive basis to exemplary working culinary professionals who wish to update their skills through continuing education. Grants will be awarded based on availability of funds. To be eligible, an applicant must must meet the following requirements: For initial certification Pass required certification class with a “C” grade or better For continuing education • Be a current ACF member in good standing for a minimum of 2 years. • Must be certified as a chef de cuisine or higher. Grants of up to $500 will be awarded for an approved course. Please check with the Education Department at educate@acfchefs.net if you have a question regarding whether or not your course is approved. Application Deadline Grants will be accepted and awarded throughout the year.
