Established in 1984 by the ND Farmers Union for graduating seniors whose family is an active member of the ND Farmers Union and are pursing an education in an agriculture-related field.

National Beef Ambassador Program

Sustainable LawnCare Leaders Scholarship

LawnCare.net is proud to offer a $500 scholarship to an undergraduate student pursuing a career in sustainable botany, horticulture, landscape architecture, or a related field. We believe that sustainable practices are the key to a healthy planet and thriving environmental service industry. This scholarship is to help raise awareness about different sustainability efforts and why they are crucial for the success of those pursuing careers in these fields. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who meets the criteria and shows outstanding potential to be a front-runner for green practices in his or her career. Candidates must be United States citizens or legal residents enrolled full-time at an accredited college, university, or trade school.

Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship

The Excellence in Ag Scholarship Program is intended to attract top-notch college students who are committed to lend their talents, education and initiative to improve, maintain, and bolster the agriculture (specifically potato) industry. Candidates should have a passion and willingness to work and attain a career that benefits the WA/OR potato industry and promotes pride in the agriculture industry.

Dr. Richard Peterson Scholarship Fund

Dr. Peterson is currently vice president of the Monterey Wine Auction, which develops funds to support outstanding, and often needy, students in the wine, food and hospitality industries. He has been Chairman of the Andre Tchelistcheff Scholarship Committee since its origin at Monterey in 1986. This committee has awarded over $1,000,000 in scholarship funds to college students over the past twenty-plus years – all generated from the Monterey Wine Auction events and personal donations. This scholarship is targeted towards students with a passion for viticulture and enology. Dr. Peterson hopes to inspire future generations. Scholarship recipients must be studying Viticulture and Enology and are selected by the American Vineyard Foundation. Students are solicited and chosen by American Vineyard Foundation. Students must be doing research on grapevine diseases affecting the industry to be considered. Award amount: Varies Who Can Apply: Applications and selections are handled by Scott Deitrick at the American Vineyard Foundation. Scholarship recipients must be studying Viticulture and Enology and are selected by the American Vineyard Foundation. Students are solicited and chosen by American Vineyard Foundation. Students must be doing research on grapevine diseases affecting the industry to be considered.

Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani /Giacomo Bologna Scholarship

The NRAEF and Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani (GRI) will award up to 6 students with an all-expense-paid trip from New York City to Italy. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in Italian viticulture - view a full list of eligibility requirements. The scholarship enables students to travel to Italy for a week and participate in various culinary and restaurant industry related classes and tours. During this program, students will be offered a first-hand experience in Italian winemaking and cooking. Each year, GRI organizes a unique experience for students that highlights a region in Italy. GRI is a not-for-profit association dedicated to promoting knowledge of authentic Italian food and wine through education. Award amount: This scholarship is for an educational trip to Italy. Who Can Apply: Eligible applicants must have an interest for Italian viticulture and cuisine. Candidates are chosen by GRI. Funds are used for an educational trip to Italy.

IFEC

IFEC is a non-profit membership association. Its 250 members include writers and editors, public relations and marketing communications professionals, educators and consultants working within and with the foodservice media. Through its scholarship program, IFEC strives to increase awareness and understanding of career opportunities available in the fields of foodservice and food communications and to encourage the entry of qualified individuals into these fields. A combination of your work experience and current and past education should indicate that you are preparing for a career in writing or public relations within the foodservice or food and beverage industry. This is a key requirement. Examples of careers IFEC wishes to encourage through its scholarships:  Journalist specializing in foodservice or food and beverage  Public relations practitioner for restaurants, foodservice management companies, food or beverage producers, food marketing boards or culinary schools  Food photographer or food stylist working with food, beverage or foodservice accounts  Consultant and freelance writer providing marketing communications services for food, beverage or foodservice clients  Communications specialist promoting and/or writing about nutrition as it relates to foodservice, food or beverage • Careers that do not fit this niche include:  Chef  Chef-instructor  Caterer  Restaurateur  Hotelier

4-H 'Leg Up' Scholarship

The Race for Education in conjunction with Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) has developed the Kentucky 4-H Horse Program ‘Leg Up’ Scholarship. This college scholarship, sponsored by the Race for Education, is awarded to one 4-H horse club student in his/her senior year of high school in EACH 4-H club in Kentucky. Criteria for this scholarship include financial need, communication skills, leadership, and commitment to the agriculture and equine industry. The $250 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating student of each club annually. Students may also be eligible to participate in the Race for Education’s Assets for Independence Program and receive an additional $4,000 in scholarship funding. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must; · be a KY 4-H Horse program student member and active within their KY 4-H Horse chapter; · currently a High School senior; 4-H 'Leg Up' applicants MUST apply with their club/county agent by hard copy application and CANNOT apply online via RFE's website.
