H-E-B/Adelante Future Leaders Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Criteria:
Open to community college and/or university students attending as an incoming freshman, freshman, or sophomore in the Fall semester. (Incoming freshman should provide acceptance letter and proof of enrollment to potential college or university and current students must present proof of enrollment.)
All majors are welcome to apply.
Have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or above based on a 4.0 scale.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Community service involvement is required (resume should include listing of your community service activities).
Provide one letter of recommendation.
Must be registered for 12 hours (full-time enrollment).
Applicants must attend a community college and/or a university in the following Texas geographical areas:

Beeville
Brownsville
Corpus Christi
Del Rio
Eagle Pass
Edinburg
Fredericksburg
Georgetown
Houston
Kerrville
Kingsville
Laredo
McAllen
Midland
Odessa

VictoriaDr. Archie P. McDonald Scolarship The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the distinguished career of Dr. Archie P. McDonald by providing a financial award to worthy students who are history majors, with preference to those specializing in Texas history, especially East Texas history.
The scholarship is to be awarded annually from the earnings of the endowment, calculated from a total return performance. Total return performance is defined as interest, dividends, and realized/unrealized gains.
Recipient Criteria:
Major: History
Level: Undergraduate and graduate students, attending full time as defined by the university. Exceptions can be made for last semester seniors who need fewer hours to complete requirements for graduation.
Schools: All universities and colleges located in East Texas, defined as those schools east of IH 35 and extending southeasterly from Austin to Houston.
GPA: 3.0 overall and 3.2 in History
Other: Preference may be given to students in Texas history, especially East Texas history. Need may be considered, if all things are equal between candidates.
