Brauning-Sammons Trust

Scholarship awards to residents from Muskingum and surrounding counties for enrollment in the nursing program at Ohio University-Zanesville. Application form required. Cambridge Home Health Care Nursing Scholarship

Four $1,000 awards – 2 to employees and 2 to non-employees who are residents of counties served by Cambridge Home Health Care. Applicants must be a home health/nurse’s aide or licensed practical nurse who has worked for 2 of the past 3 years in either capacity. Applicants must also be enrolling in school for the coming school year and not currently in school to become a licensed practical nurse or a registered nurse.

Carr Center Memorial Scholarship

$1,000 awarded to a Muskingum County resident with a physical and/or sensory disability. Consideration is given to need, academics, work experience, activities and essays. Deadline for applications is the 3rd Friday of March and the winner isannounced in April.

Chuck Borsari Art Scholarship

One $1,000 award to a student who has completed one year's coursework for the Glass Program at the Hocking College Foothills Art School and is enrolled for the second year.

Elliott Educational Endowment Scholarship

Five $200 scholarships open to residents of Muskingum County attending a college, university or trade school. Graduating seniors and college students at all levels may apply. Consideration given to financial need, extracurricular activities, communityservice and submitted essay. Applicants must submit proof of current GPA and three letters of reference.

Forest M. and Meryl C. Cale Scholarship

Scholarships open to upperclassman students - sophomore, junior,or senior in college. Students who reside in Muskingum County, Ohio, and who attend any two or four year accredited college, technical college or university.

Appalachian Scholars Program

Need-based scholarship program seeking students from Appalachian Ohio to attend Ohio University. Open to students from the 29 counties in Appalachian Ohio accepted to Ohio University and planning to attend one of the six OU campuses. Consideration given to financial need, enthusiasm, motivation to succeed, academic achievement, essays and recommendations.

Ariana R. Ulloa Scholarship

Open to international students or students enrolled in international studies accepted or already enrolled full-time in a degree program at a community college, trade school, or 4-year college or university. Consideration given to financial need andacademic achievement. Proof of enrollment required for acceptance of award.

Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Association Scholarship

Several $4,000.00 scholarships are awarded each year to applicants who have a parent or guardian who is a member in good standing of the Fraternal Order of police of Ohio, Inc. Awards are based on scholastic merit, economic needs, and goals in life.

Frontier Power Company Scholarship

Scholarship to seniors whose parents/guardians are members of Frontier Power Company. Two awards in each Boy’s and Girl’s Division, 1st place is $500, 2nd is $250. Applicants must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA and be enrolled at an accredited college, university, or trade school. Scholarship applications available in local guidance offices by mid-February and must be turned into Frontier Power by the deadline date March 31.

Genesis HealthCare Employees Tuition Reimbursement

Employees who work 32-63 hours (part-time) are eligible for $750 per term for GED, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degrees and $1,000 per term for Master’s degree. Employees who work 64-80 hours (full-time) are eligible for $1,500 per term onGED, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degrees and $2,000 per term for Master’s degree.

Charles B. & Alice V. Moody Health Care Scholarship

Open to residents of Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Licking, Coshocton, Noble and Guernsey counties pursuing degrees in nursing, medical, or allied health at Muskingum College. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Charles & Gloria Wehr Nursing Scholarship

Open to employees of Genesis and immediate families who are residents of Muskingum County pursuing degrees in nursing. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Consideration given to academics, essays, references, and need.

Edward L. Merry and Bernice Anderson Merry Nursing Scholarship

Open to residents of Muskingum County pursuing nursing degrees. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Consideration given to academics, essays, references, and need.

Jim and Betty Hooper Scholarship

Open to employees of Genesis and immediate families who are residents of Muskingum and Perry counties pursuing a degree in the health care field. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Consideration given to academics, essays, references, and need.

John A. Gonder Memorial Scholarship

Open to residents of Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble and Guernsey counties pursuing a degree in the health care field. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Consideration given to academics, essays, references, and need.

Judith Moody Nursing Scholarship

Applicants must be pursuing a degree in nursing. Preference given to Genesis employees and immediate families. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Consideration given to academics, essays, references, and need.

Good Samaritan Nurses Alumni Scholarship

Descendant of graduate of Good Samaritan School of Nursing.

Grace United Methodist Church Members Scholarship

Offered to members pursuing any type of higher education.
