The Aurora Foundation Scholarship

Giving limited to residents in the immediate Aurora, IL, area, including southern Kane and Kendall counties.

John L. & Alice M. Holden Education Scholarship

Based on academic ability and financial need. Eligibility is limited to students who complete the FAFSA Application. Available to residents of the City of Aurora. Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois.

Aurora Kiwanis Club/G. William

Available to students attending Aurora University to pursue a bachelor's degree. Reserved for students who are continuing their education immediately after the completion of their education at Waubonsee Community College with an associate degree. Restricted to students whose parent or guardian resides within one of the following cities: Aurora, Big Rock, Montgomery, North Aurora, Oswego, or Sugar Grove. Preference will be given to current or former members of Kiwanis Builders or Key Clubs.

Christine A. Ponquinette Memorial/INC Board Minority Student Scholarship

Available to African-American or Hispanic students pursuing a degree in Social Work. Preference will be given to students attending Aurora University, to students currently enrolled in Aurora University’s School of Social Work, or to residents of southern Kane County. (In exchange for assistance from this fund, students must agree to seek and accept bona fide offers of employment from a not-for-profit human services agency located within southern Kane County which provides services in a field for which they have been educated or trained in whole or in part through their acceptance of this scholarship, and further, to remain in such employment the number of years the scholarship was provided to them.)

Richard H. Rokop, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Based on academic ability and financial need. Eligibility is limited to students who complete the FAFSA Application. Available to students attending a four-year college or university. Reserved for residents of the City of Aurora, Village of North Aurora, or Aurora Township.

Erwin & Ella Hoffman Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to students attending a four-year college or university affiliated with the Lutheran Church. Reserved for graduates of East Aurora or West Aurora High School.

Robin M. Hodgson Memorial Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to students pursuing any course of study.

Dr. J. William & Arline Hoban Family Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to students entering their first year of undergraduate study or to students entering their first year at a four-year college or university after the completion of their sophomore year at Waubonsee Community College. Reserved for residents of the City of Aurora or southern Kane County. Restricted to home-schooled high school graduates or to graduates of a high school located within the City of Aurora or southern Kane County.

Lee W. & Rosemary A. Jordan Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to graduates of Aurora Christian, East Aurora, or West Aurora High School.

Mr. & Mrs. William P. Hilgen Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. - Available to graduates of Marmion Academy or Rosary High School.

Urban & Margaret Hipp Family Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to students pursuing studies within the Humanities division of the College of Arts and Sciences at Aurora University. Reserved for graduates of a high school located within the Community Foundation service area or for home-schooled high school graduates. Preference will be given to graduating high school seniors.

Shirley M. Hurd Education Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to students pursuing a degree in any field. Preference will be given to students attending Northwestern University.

Italian-American Mutual Aid Society of Aurora, Illinois Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to students of Italian descent attending a four-year college or university. Reserved for graduates of a high school located within the Community Foundation service area.

Nicholas R. Albers Memorial Scholarship Fund

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to students whose quality of life has been severely impacted by chronic pain due to a medical disability. Reserved for graduates of St. Charles North High School. Residency restriction expanded to include the portions of St. Charles School District 303 located within northern Kane County.

Claude L. & Alice E. Allen Memorial Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. Aurora Area Retired Teachers' Association Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. - Available to students attending a two-year college at the freshman or sophomore level or to students pursing studies at a professional, trade or vocational school. Reserved for residents of Batavia School District 101, East Aurora School District 131, Geneva School District 304, Kaneland School District 302, St. Charles School District 303, or West Aurora School District 129.

Aurora Central Catholic High School Scholarship in Honor of Father Jerome Leake

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to students planning to enter the seminary, to students pursuing a career in the area of religious life or social services, or to students pursuing studies within the field of education. Reserved for graduates of Aurora Central Catholic High School.

Aurora East Educational Foundation Scholarship

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area. A permanent address is one where a student receives legal documents and correspondence. It is most likely NOT their school address. The Community Foundation service area includes the City of Aurora, southern Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois. Available to students entering their first year of undergraduate study. Reserved for students attending Waubonsee Community College or a vocational school. Restricted to graduates of East Aurora High School.

Aurora Firefighters Scholarship in Memory of Tony Schoen

Primary Eligibility Requirements Students must attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full‑time basis. With few exceptions, students must have their permanent address located within the Community Foundation service area.
