Connecticut Independent College Student Grant
Must be a resident of Connecticut attending or be accepted for enrollment at a private college or university in Connecticut. Must show financial need by submitting FAFSA. For current recipients only.
Connecticut Aid for Public College Students
Must be a resident of Connecticut and be enrolled in a public Connecticut college or university. Must show satisfactory academic progress. Must demonstrate financial need by submitting the FAFSA. Maximum annual award cannot exceed calculated financial need. Renewable with reapplication. - For current recipients only.
Woman's Seamen's Friend Society Scholarships
Eligibility requirements for Undergraduates: 1. There are no restrictions on courses of study for Connecticut residents who are merchant seafarers and/or their dependents attending any institution of higher learning. 2. Connecticut residents who are students at state maritime academies. 3. Legal residents of Connecticut majoring in the marine sciences at an in-state or out-of-state college, university or other approved educational institution. 4. Legal residents of other states who are majoring in the marine sciences at a college, university or other approved educational institution in Connecticut. The Scholarship Committee makes awards after considering financial need, academic achievement, letters of recommendation and proposed program of study. The awards are supplemental and are not intended to be the primary source of financial assistance. Financial Support for Graduate Work in the Marine Sciences Awards to assist graduate students carrying out research in the marine sciences. Awards are made payable to the department in which the individual is enrolled but are for use by that individual exclusively for research expenses. No part of an award may be used for payment of indirect costs to the student's institution. Equipment purchased becomes the property of the institution. Awards are not made for publication expenses, salary, tuition, travel to meetings, or other routine institutional obligations. Priority is given to students working on the first two years of their research . Awards will not normally exceed $500. Graduate students applying for financial support must meet the conditions of eligibility listed above. Graduate students are requested to fill out a REQUEST FOR GRADUATE STUDENT FINANCIAL AID FORM instead of a FINANCIAL AID FORM.
Regional Scholarship Fund
Applicant must be a resident of the Foundation's 21 town service areas: Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Cheshire, Goshen, Litchfield, Middlebury, Morris, Naugatuck, New Milford, Oxford, Prospect, Roxbury, Southbury, Thomaston, Warren, Washington, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, Woodbury.
Applicant will be attending an accredited college/university in the U.S.
Jack and Edith Brownstein Family Fund
Attending University of Pennsylvania - Applicant must be a resident of the Foundation's 21 town service areas: Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Cheshire, Goshen, Litchfield, Middlebury, Morris, Naugatuck, New Milford, Oxford, Prospect, Roxbury, Southbury, Thomaston, Warren, Washington, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, Woodbur
Charles F. Mitchell Fund
Male resident of Waterbury for 5 years or more - Majoring in arts or education - Scholarships will not be awarded to students attending colleges which replace internal grants with outside scholarships.
For residents of the Foundation’s 21-town service area: Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Cheshire, Goshen, Litchfield, Middlebury, Morris, Naugatuck, New Milford, Oxford, Prospect, Roxbury, Southbury, Thomaston, Warren, Washington, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, Woodbury.
Charles and Dorothy M. Greenblatt Fund
Resident of Waterbury for at least five years. - Attending a non-sectarian college or university. - Applicant must be a resident of the Foundation's 21 town service areas: *Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Cheshire, Goshen, Litchfield, Middlebury, Morris, Naugatuck, New Milford, Oxford, Prospect, Roxbury, Southbury, Thomaston, Warren, Washington, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, Woodbury.
Dr. Mehdi S. & Judith S. Eslami Fund
Preferably a resident of Southbury. - Entering a four-year college or university with interest in health related field or medicine. - Applicant must be a resident of the Foundation's 21 town service areas.
KASF Scholarship - Eastern Region
A Korean student currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program is qualified to apply. Applicants are judged on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community service. For the Eastern Region, schools must be located in either: New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, or Kentucky.
Innovation in Education Scholarship
LA Tutors awards a monthly $500 Innovation Scholarship to high school and college students who showcase their creativity and make a positive impact.
Julia Peyton Phillips Scholarship Fund
Awarded annually to an undergraduate student at Bryn Mawr College who is majoring in Latin, Greek, Classical Languages (both Latin and Greek), or Classical Culture & Society. Priority is given to those students with financial need who are majoring in the above subjects. In the event that Bryn Mawr College cannot identify a worthy candidate in the above majors, a History or English major with financial need will be selected.
MusicAuthority’s Annual Music Lovers Scholarship
MusicAuthority recognizes the positive impact that music can have on a student’s learning experience. Studies have shown how music can enhance learning- from improving memory performance to relieving anxiety, music can be a great component to aid a student’s college experience.
We are proud to offer our $1,000 scholarship to one current or prospective student. We will be offering this scholarship on a continual basis and we are excited to promote a passion for music and higher education.
